Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1325: Chapter 698: A Clean and Upright Atmosphere (Part 3)

Zeng Yeng was curious where Lucia suddenly got the nerve to start putting on airs in front of her.

She still remembered when she first met Lucia, the girl had been cute and full of spirit, and very respectful and polite to her.

Back then, Zeng Yeng had thought this little girl Lucia had a really good temper.

Who knew that dating Wen Bing would actually give her this kind of confidence.

What Zeng Yeng thought inside was, even your boyfriend Wen Bing doesn’t talk to me like that.

Of course, Zeng Yeng would never actually say something like that to Lucia.

Lucia’s face showed a look of shock, as if she couldn’t come back to herself for a long while.

She stared at Zeng Yeng in surprise, like she hadn’t expected Zeng Yeng to lose her temper at her like this.

Zeng Yeng, on the other hand, stared back at Lucia without moving.

She knew that the more it was a moment like this, the less she could compromise.

Because once she compromised the first time, there’d be no way to set the rules after that.

It was at this moment that Lucia’s eyes suddenly, without warning, reddened.

A string of tears fell from the rims of her eyes.

She turned and ran off.

Leaving Zeng Yeng standing there in surprise, feeling inexplicably a bit uneasy inside.

Half an hour later, when Wen Bing came storming in to stand up for Lucia, a stone in Zeng Yeng’s heart finally dropped; she understood what that uneasiness had been.

Lucia had actually gone to Wen Bing to complain about her.

Wen Bing already had deep conflicts with Zeng Yeng, so when Lucia suddenly ran over to say Zeng Yeng was bullying her, how could he possibly hold back.

In Wen Bing’s eyes, Zeng Yeng was picking on Lucia just because she hated him and, by extension, everything related to him.

”Zeng Yeng, what’s that supposed to mean?” Wen Bing glared, looking extremely annoyed at her. ”Why are you bullying Lucia?”

”Bullying?”

Zeng Yeng let out a humorless laugh.

”Wen Bing, would I really stoop to bullying a little girl like her?”

Wen Bing said, ”Who knows what you’ve got going on in that head of yours.”

”No matter what I’ve got going on, I have zero interest in bullying her.” Zeng Yeng shot Lucia a glare, and Lucia shrank back behind Wen Bing as if she were terrified.

Zeng Yeng sneered. ”All I did was tell her, ask her that when she doesn’t have any scenes to shoot, she shouldn’t always hang around the set. The two of you glued together like that, everyone watching feels uncomfortable. Then she suddenly goes crazy.”

Wen Bing clenched his jaw.

”Isn’t that just another way of saying it’s all because I’m dating Lucia?”

”Hold up, don’t pin that label on me. Your thing with Lucia, I haven’t interfered at all.” Zeng Yeng immediately cut him off. ”President Yao has tacitly approved it anyway, and if something really happens, he’s not going to hold me responsible. The reason I’m dealing with this now is because don’t forget, when you’ve got your girlfriend keeping you company, there are a lot of people in this crew who don’t have their partners or family by their side.”

Wen Bing said mockingly, ”Are you talking about yourself?”

That one sentence made Zeng Yeng’s face flush green then white with anger.

”Am I the only one in this crew besides you?” Zeng Yeng shot back, annoyed. ”Don’t project your personal prejudice against me onto this matter. Also, think about it seriously: do my words make sense or not? You’re the director, Lucia is your girlfriend, so of course no one’s going to be so tactless as to go up to your faces and say they can’t stand the two of you openly flirting. Other than me, who else is going to say it?”

Although Wen Bing didn’t like Zeng Yeng, he wasn’t someone completely unreasonable.

What Zeng Yeng said hit him in a sore spot.

As she’d said, he really should adjust the way he and Lucia interacted.

Was it true that a lot of people felt uncomfortable?

Wen Bing wasn’t sure in his heart.

He himself was the kind of person who, when he saw other couples being affectionate, would feel happy for them too.

So he’d always assumed that when everyone saw him and Lucia together, they’d feel the same way.

So that wasn’t the case?

Wen Bing didn’t fully believe Zeng Yeng, though he also felt she wouldn’t lie about this particular matter.

In the end, Wen Bing decided to go ask Zhou Yun.

If there was anyone in this crew whose words he would definitely believe, it was Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun hesitated, wanting to speak but holding back.

Wen Bing said, ”Xiao Yun, don’t worry about anything else. Just tell me the truth—are there really a lot of people who are unhappy because of this?”

Zhou Yun pondered for a moment, then nodded.

”There are.”

Wen Bing was stunned.

Zhou Yun said, ”But I don’t think it’s as serious as Zeng Yeng says. In this industry, who’s really that fragile that they can’t stand to see a couple being affectionate? If that were the case, how did they get through all those years before? I don’t believe for a second that there weren’t any couples in the crews they used to work on.”
