Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1303: Chapter 691: Wen Bing in Love with Lucia (Part 2)

Wen Xi said, ”If it were ordinary people, I do think distance is a big problem. But, Xiao Yun, given the status and position you two have now, either you change your criteria for choosing a partner, stop putting romantic love as the number-one standard for marriage, and find someone who can revolve around you. That’s not such a humiliating thing. You’re both extremely successful; anyone who becomes your other half is destined to sacrifice some of their own career and time, otherwise it’s hard for your lives to fit together. Or you and Song Chi stay together and fight against the challenges these external factors bring you. That’s very hard. You’re both young now, you can throw all your time and energy into your careers, but when you’re a bit older, after many years of struggle, you’ll inevitably feel empty and lonely after the busyness. At that time, you will absolutely hope that when you go home, the lights are on and someone is waiting for you.”

Wen Xi’s words sent Zhou Yun into deep thought.

”I have seen couples who are often apart but still in harmony, but I also know they each keep someone outside the marriage to meet some physical and emotional needs,” Wen Xi said. ”People are emotional animals; a purely Platonic love can’t fully satisfy what human beings need from a partner.”

Zhou Yun thought, what should she and Song Chi do in the future?

Where were they heading?

Was she the one who should sacrifice, or should Song Chi be the one?

Or should they both make sacrifices?

No matter how she thought about it, Zhou Yun felt this was an unsolvable problem, unless the two of them could reach a consensus and refuse to build a family in a conventional way.

But if it was just a world for the two of them, that world could still be coordinated and run according to their rules. What about when they had children later?

Having a child is not something that ends after a year of pregnancy and birth; you have to care, to raise, and so on.

As soon as Zhou Yun thought of these questions, she felt a touch of panic and a desire to avoid facing them.

Because of these worries, Zhou Yun was no longer all that concerned or curious about Lucia Banks.

But Lucia Banks took the initiative to come to her.

She wasn’t a famous actress.

She came from Denmark and had acted in films before, but the films she’d been in weren’t well-known. On the international film scene, she was a rookie who had only just started to emerge.

But in fact, she had debuted earlier than Zhou Yun, by exactly half a year.

Because of different circumstances, Zhou Yun had already been hyped up as an international superstar in China, while Lucia Banks still hadn’t made a name for herself.

She very enthusiastically invited Zhou Yun out for coffee.

”Hi, Miss Zhou, I’m Lucia Banks, and I’m also your fan.” As soon as Lucia Banks met Zhou Yun in the hotel lobby, she introduced herself with bubbling enthusiasm.

She was a very beautiful girl, extremely beautiful.

When she smiled, her bright eyes and white teeth lit up, radiant.

Even as a woman herself, Zhou Yun was dazzled by that smile. In that moment, she suddenly understood Wen Bing’s almost bewitched kind of love a little better.

Wen Bing was the kind of man who cared deeply about the spiritual world and had his own unique aesthetic. Faced with such a bright, smiling girl whose eyes still shone with purity, how could he not be moved?

Zhou Yun replied, ”Lucia, hello, I’m Zhou Yun. You’re really beautiful.”

Lucia said, ”You’re beautiful too. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”

Zhou Yun hurriedly waved her hand.

Lucia suddenly widened her eyes and said very seriously, ”It’s true.”

She seemed to take this point quite seriously.

Zhou Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

”Thank you.” Zhou Yun could only thank her.

The two great beauties walked side by side, drawing who knows how many sidelong glances and backward looks along the way.

Wherever it goes, beauty has a natural power to draw the eye.

They had coffee in the hotel restaurant. In a foreign country, with no bodyguards along, they didn’t dare leave the hotel, for fear it might be dangerous.

Especially in a place like this, no one knew where danger might be waiting.

After they sat down, Lucia gave Zhou Yun a somewhat shy smile and said, ”When I found out I’d gotten the part in this film, I was so excited, because I really love Life, the film you did with Director Wen Bing. I’ve seen it at least three times.”

”Really?” Zhou Yun was a little surprised. ”I thought the film wasn’t that popular overseas.”

Although its box office was, by the standards of recent years, unusually high for Chinese-language films, in absolute numbers it was actually just so-so.
