Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1330: Chapter 700: Chance Encounter (2)

But this energy is not yet strong enough to push a director out.

Song Chi might have this power now.

That’s why many actors insist on starting their own production companies.

At the end of the day, actors are just one link in the production chain, even if it’s an indispensable and critical link, it is still just one link.

But a production company truly controls the entire production chain and has the decision-making power.

Wen Bing said, ”Believe me, that person not choosing to work with you is absolutely his loss. This is a heartfelt statement from an actor who has worked with you three times.”

There was sincerity in his eyes.

Zhou Yun was comforted by his words and started to laugh.

”Thank you.”

Wen Bing said, ”I’m not trying to flatter you or make you happy; I’m serious. Since I became a film director, I have made only three movies, and each one has you in it. Now I can’t imagine what it would be like if one day I made a movie without you.”

”Without me, you are still yourself. You are the Wen Bing that every actor wants to work with.” Zhou Yun waved her hand. ”Let’s not flatter each other like this here, okay? It’s quite enough.”

The two exchanged smiles.

The nearby passersby had no idea what the two of them were laughing about.

Zhou Yun said, ”However, after finishing ’Female Assassin,’ I really need to take a proper break. Shooting action films is really exhausting; it drains both physical strength and mental energy. I’ve never been this tired.”

Wen Bing said, ”But didn’t you take on ’Moon Sinking at Sea’?”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”So, I originally didn’t want to take it, but I wanted to be with Song Chi. Alas, a life of hard work. I wonder if there will ever be a time when he and I have no work at all, just finding a place to quietly take a vacation.”

Wen Bing said, ”I’ve heard you say this many times, but for now, don’t even think about it. You and he are in the best time of your careers, and the next ten to fifteen years is the golden period for your careers. Unless you retire, it’ll be very hard for you two to really drop everything and leave.”

Just like what Chen Wenjun did this time.

Even when Zhou Yun was unwilling, Chen Wenjun kept persuading her until she agreed.

Script, actors, remuneration, etc.

They can agree and meet your demands from any aspect, as long as you agree to participate.

This is how it is for top-tier actors.

The entire film industry is looking to cooperate with you.

You have no choice but to agree.

This industry is the foundation for your livelihood, and you’re not the type of person to disregard everyone completely.

Zhou Yun and Wen Bing aimlessly wandered around the city for a long time.

This is a very beautiful city, with its famous historical relics visible everywhere.

Walking in a city filled with culture and history, the feeling is inherently wonderful for those who appreciate this atmosphere and vibe.

Zhou Yun said, ”Recently, I watched Woody Allen’s ’Love in Rome.’ Have you seen it?”

”It’s such a famous film, of course I’ve seen it.”

”For a long time, I couldn’t understand Woody Allen’s works, but that day on the plane, with nothing else to do, I watched this movie and unexpectedly liked it very much.” Zhou Yun said, ”How should I say it, it broadened my understanding of films. Actually, films can be shot in any style, even like an essay. As long as you know how to shoot, many films are like a long novel, with a complete progression and strong narrative. ’Love in Rome’ is very fragmentary, like a short story with a bit of a headless-tale feel. It starts strangely and ends abruptly, but it’s very good.”

”Woody Allen’s films all have this style.” Wen Bing said.

Zhou Yun: ”Then I started thinking, a director as famous as Woody Allen should have lots of imitators, right? But after careful consideration, I couldn’t find anyone who imitates him particularly well.”

”Because his films are like a particularly chatty intellectual. To imitate him, it’s not just about making critiques; you need real substance. The threshold for imitation is too high, and the inherently non-commercial nature is even harder to replicate.” Wen Bing said, ”His films are never produced according to the conventions of the film industry.”

Zhou Yun nodded.
