Chapter 1302: Chapter 691: Lucia, the Woman Wen Bing Fell in Love With

A woman who had suddenly made Wen Bing fall head over heels in love—it was impossible for Zhou Yun not to be curious.

She was full of curiosity about this Lucia Banks.

After much persuading, Wen Bing finally agreed.

”You have to promise me you won’t bully her. She’s a very simple girl.”

Hearing this, Zhou Yun couldn’t help rolling her eyes at him.

”What do you mean by that? Are you saying I’m the villain in your little story?”

Wen Bing chuckled and said, ”I’m really not making this up—you’ve got ’I don’t trust you or Lucia’ written all over your face. You think the two of us are unreliable.”

Zhou Yun thought, so you do know.

Wen Bing went on, ”But you’ll definitely like her as much as I do. She’s a very cute and very charming woman.”

Zhou Yun didn’t know if it was some sort of same-gender repulsion at work, but hearing Wen Bing heap such over-the-top praise and flowery adjectives on another woman right in front of her, her first reaction was a sense of hostility and scrutiny.

But there’s no way to have a rational conversation with a man who’s already madly in love.

Once a man really throws himself into a relationship, he can go just as crazy as any woman.

A lot of women think men find it easier to walk away from love. They’re wrong. Men just find it harder to fully enter a relationship in the first place. If you’ve never truly entered it, what’s so hard about getting out? That bit of struggle and pain is usually more performance than reality.

Zhou Yun didn’t feel like saying anything more to Wen Bing.

She just wanted to find out more about this Lucia Banks.

”Have you two been going out every day these past few days?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wen Bing said, ”Where would we find that much time to date? It’s all her tagging along while I work—location scouting, meetings, meals. She’s been patiently keeping me company the whole time.”

”Doesn’t she have her own things to do?”

”She says she’s an actress. Since the shoot hasn’t started yet, she’s basically idle. No other plans anyway, so she might as well be with me.” Wen Bing’s face was full of pride and smug satisfaction as he said this.

Seeing him like that, Zhou Yun really felt he was ”a petty man getting his moment.”

Do all men really enjoy this feeling of being the center around which a woman who likes them orbits?

While Zhou Yun was busy looking down on Wen Bing, she suddenly thought of Song Chi.

If all men liked that feeling, what about Song Chi?

Zhou Yun realized that this was something she had never done.

Center her life around Song Chi?

No way—not even worth thinking about.

No matter how much she loved Song Chi, she would never make him the center and cater to his emotional needs that way.

It wasn’t that she refused to meet Song Chi’s needs, but—

Not if the premise of doing so was sacrificing her own freedom and feelings.

Looking at the excitement and longing on Wen Bing’s face, she could tell he really had fallen into this love with Lucia.

Zhou Yun started wondering if she and Song Chi had ever had moments like that—as if they’d both lost their minds.

The question nagged at her for a long time. The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt, so she went to Yuk Chu and Wen Xi for advice.

Yuk Chu said, ”Why do you care what Wen Bing’s like? Song Chi and Wen Bing aren’t the same type at all. What Wen Bing likes isn’t necessarily what Song Chi likes. In short, just be yourself. Wasn’t Song Chi drawn to you in the first place precisely when you were being yourself?”

Wen Xi, on the other hand, gave a completely different answer. She said, ”My man is like that too. I generally do give him that feeling from time to time.”

Zhou Yun asked Yuk Chu, ”Back when you weren’t pregnant, what was it like when you and Yin Zhou were dating?”

”We mostly just talked. Nothing special, really. Back then we both had a lot on our minds that we couldn’t say to anyone else, so we could only say it to each other—stuff about our families. I got him, and he got me.”

Then Zhou Yun asked Wen Xi, ”Wen Xi, when you and your husband are together in daily life, do you consciously create an atmosphere where everything revolves around him?”

”When it doesn’t cost me anything important, I do.” Wen Xi said very frankly. ”That whole set of tricks works great on him.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”What is it, Xiao Yun? Are you and Song Chi running into some kind of problem?” Wen Xi chose her words carefully.

Zhou Yun didn’t want Wen Xi to get the wrong idea, so she explained, ”No. It’s just that I recently saw another couple who are crazy in love, and it suddenly made me think of myself. Because Song Chi and I hardly see each other as it is, and when we finally do, he’s got a pile of things to deal with, and I’ve got a pile of things to deal with. Honestly, I’m really worried that being apart so often will end up affecting our relationship.”
