Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1315: Chapter 695: Who Are You Here For_2

Using Zhou Yun, such a top-tier actor, is essentially a double-edged sword. If the film turns out well, one plus one can be greater than two. If it doesn’t, the film may suffer a backlash due to Zhou Yun’s immense fame.

Zhou Yun thought about it for a long time and also called Zhou Lan.

”Do you want to take it on yourself?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”If I take it, it will be another non-stop entry into filming, I’m really exhausted.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Lan said, ”That’s true. This show is good, no doubt about it, but at your stage, it’s not a must-do anymore. Not playing this show won’t be a loss for us.”

”But performing in this drama allows me to collaborate with Song Chi again. I’d really like to act in it,” Zhou Yun said. ”We don’t get to meet often as it is, and this time I can rest in July, but he’s going to act in this play. If I don’t act, I won’t get to see him.”

”Then go ahead and act, I feel like you still want to.” Zhou Lan laughed, ”I’ll make it clear to Chen Wenjun, strictly enforce the eight-hour working schedule, and not let them drag you into overtime on set.”

”Forget it, don’t bother, it’s useless. I know myself, if I really need to work overtime, even if you sign an eight-hour work schedule, I still wouldn’t resist working over.”

”Still, it has to be signed; the initiative must be in our hands.” Zhou Lan said, ”However, there is an advantage in shooting this drama. It’s stable. It’s almost entirely filmed in-studio, so normal filming won’t be affected by scenery or weather.”

”That’s good too.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Lan said, ”If you could shoot in Shanghai, that would be best, and you wouldn’t need to stay at hotels, you can go home to rest.”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”Is that possible?”

Zhou Lan said, ”Why wouldn’t it be? Of course, it can.”

Zhou Yun: ”Shanghai filming would be more expensive, right? Chen Wenjun probably won’t agree. The shoot already requires a huge budget with me and Song Chi.”

”You’ve already spent so much on yourselves, would you be stingy with this small amount?” Zhou Lan said, ”Don’t worry, Chen Wenjun isn’t short on money at all. He has several investment companies willing to follow him on investing in film and TV, making money together.”

In surprise, Zhou Yun said, ”Really?”

”Where do you think he got the money to pay you and Song Chi’s fees? Even with both of you starring, it wouldn’t bring twice the money back.” Zhou Lan said, ”Honestly, in my opinion, for Chen Wenjun to invite both you and Song Chi into a film has the greatest symbolic significance. Now he has several big-time investors backing him, who, due to this expanding market in film and TV over the past couple of years, have targeted this opportunity and sought him out to manage it. If Chen Wenjun can gather you and Song Chi for this, more investors will contact him to get involved.”

This is different from what Song Chi faced before.

Previously, when Song Chi’s company’s funds weren’t circulating smoothly, several approaches were made to acquire shares of Song Chi’s company, essentially it was exploitation.

However, Chen Wenjun is facing an opportunity where people simply want to make a profit in the film and TV market, and are willing to invest money with Chen Wenjun to start projects, earning by share.

This is a great thing for Chen Wenjun.

Because it means Chen Wenjun will have a more ample cash flow in hand, which also means he can open more projects at the same time, or take on a big project.

With more money in his hands, he can do more.

And thus ”Moon Sinking at Sea” arrived.

Listening to Zhou Lan’s explanation, Zhou Yun finally understood why Chen Wenjun was so generous this time.

Zhou Lan: ”So, if you decide to take on ’Moon Sinking at Sea’, then take it. The drama starts filming in July and is currently casting actors. I’ve communicated with Chen Wenjun about a few roles in it, and I want to get an important supporting role for Zhongting. The same goes for Song Chi, but Chen Wenjun wants to assign several supporting roles to his company’s actors, so he’s negotiating. If you agree to act, Zhongting has a greater chance of securing this drama.”

Zhou Yun: ”I’ll think about it a bit more.”

”Hmm.”

Zhou Yun hung up the phone and lay on the bed, thinking seriously.

”Female Assassin” will finish shooting in June. In July, she will help Yuh Huaijiang with a cameo, and if she takes ”Moon Sinking at Sea”, it’s estimated to take a hundred days to shoot, that’s nearly three months to invest in. Finishing the crew’s work, it might be almost November, and she’ll have to start ”Killing Song” crew in December.
