Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1341: Chapter 704: Under the Grand Dress Airs

”Isn’t this nonsense?” Zhou Lan laughed and clarified after receiving a call from a familiar reporter asking about the rumors, ”Those bruises were left by Xiao Yun during filming action scenes, what does it have to do with Song Chi? Besides, Song Chi and Xiao Yun have a good relationship. Don’t listen to those people online trying to sow discord, they exaggerate everything as long as it draws attention and traffic, anything goes. But this is all fake news, too ridiculous to spread.”

The familiar reporter laughed and said, ”I think so too. How could it be true? But people online speak as if it’s real, so I called you to ask what’s going on. If it’s a misunderstanding, we can help to clarify it right away.”

”Yes, please, we’re counting on you,” Zhou Lan said, ”Please help us clear up this matter more, it’s all nonsense, alas. Many haters just seize on any small thing and make waves.”

The familiar reporter said, ”Well, isn’t it true that the more famous a person is, the more controversies there are? As long as Xiao Yun remains popular, there won’t be a shortage of haters. I actually think their stirring isn’t a bad thing for Xiao Yun. At least it keeps Xiao Yun in the domestic audience’s radar, even while filming abroad, so she doesn’t get forgotten from being out of sight for too long.”

Zhou Lan laughed, ”Well, I’d rather Xiao Yun lay low for a while. We’re no longer the kind of artists who need to maintain our value through traffic. The more famous, the more controversy; if there weren’t any controversies, that would be the best.”

After a few jokes, they hung up the phone, and Zhou Lan breathed a sigh of relief.

This absurd news didn’t stay on the hot search for long.

Both Zhou Yun and Song Chi posted a ”nonsense” emoji in response, ending this farce.

Yet the incident persisted in the tidal wave of the internet.

Maybe, in many moments in the future, people who don’t know the story or know Zhou Yun and Song Chi will see it, leaving an impression.

Zhou Yun was jiao-bao-ged (subjected to domestic violence).

Song Chi is a jiao-bao-ger (domestic abuser).

Both Zhou Yun and Song Chi found the matter both laughable and awkward.

For Song Chi, it was an undeserved disaster, of course.

After this incident, many people suddenly remembered Zhou Yun.

Only then did they realize they hadn’t seen Zhou Yun for a long time. The last time was at the Qingmu Award ceremony.

After that, she hadn’t been seen in any domestic events.

Fans explained that once Zhou Yun joins a crew, unless it’s a special circumstance, she won’t take leave from the crew and will stay there to film.

This is actually quite normal.

Yet some people nitpick, saying if Zhou Yun really wants to build a diligent image, she should stay on set, never leave for even a day, never take any leave.

These voices directly angered Zhou Yun’s fans.

Zhou Yun’s fans have a characteristic; in their hearts, Zhou Yun’s work ethic and professional ability are unmatched, beyond questioning.

If anyone attacks Zhou Yun on these aspects, it certainly triggers public outrage.

Because this is also what makes Zhou Yun most proud in their eyes.

Their anger lies in, if you think Zhou Yun isn’t doing well enough, then tell us, what other artist of her age is doing better than Zhou Yun?

This is also what leaves many haters speechless.

Because Zhou Yun’s professional ability is incredibly strong, unbeatable.

But this time, the attack on Zhou Yun was deliberately revolving around whether she’s truly dedicated or not.

Seeing the fierce debate online about this matter, Zhou Lan felt particularly speechless.

Zhou Yun’s dedication is obvious; anyone who’s worked with her knows it. Yet she’s being questioned by a bunch of uninformed people.

Suddenly, Zhou Lan realized who organized these haters.

It’s Su Yan.

Su Yan wanted to snatch ”Moon Sinking at Sea,” she liked the script.

Zhou Lan heard Su Yan even went to Chen Wenjun personally, willing to act in the drama for a low fee.

But Chen Wenjun refused.

In fact, now, any script suitable for Zhou Yun, the producers would first consider her for the role.

Discontent, Su Yan wanted to stir up trouble for Zhou Yun as a breakthrough.
