Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1324: Chapter 698: Integrity Prevails (Part 2)

Wen Bing ran over to tell her that they shouldn’t be so close anymore? These words made Zhou Yun speechless. Since she and Wen Bing are open and honest with each other, with nothing between them, why would they deliberately keep a distance just because of Lucy’s concerns? Doesn’t that make them look even more suspicious?

Zhou Yun was furious.

She cursed, ”Ridiculous.”

Zheng Xiaojue, upon learning about this, also said, ”Why would Director Wen Bing do something so stupid? I thought only my dumbest male friends get completely spun around by their girlfriends.”

Zheng Xiaojue’s remark was a direct hit.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh at Zheng Xiaojue’s words.

”What makes me angriest is that Wen Bing actually got persuaded by Lucy,” Zhou Yun said. ”I thought we were friends, true friends, but he really got impulsive, disregarding everything—friends included—and satisfied his girlfriend first. To hell with his girlfriend!”

Zhou Yun burst into a small curse.

Zheng Xiaojue immediately said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, don’t worry, I will never be someone who forgets friends for love!”

She raised her hand to swear.

Zhou Yun gave her a pitying look and said, ”Xiaoju, it seems you really don’t have a man you fancy right now.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”...”

Why did she feel like she got hit accurately?

Although Zhou Yun was angry, in some ways, because Wen Bing was her friend, she ultimately managed to understand his actions and accept his behavior.

She chose to cooperate.

Being friends sometimes requires making sacrifices one doesn’t understand.

Of course, whenever Lucy wasn’t around, Zhou Yun always gave Wen Bing a sharp look.

Wen Bing would respond with a ”please, please” gesture.

Usually, Lucy greeted Zhou Yun warmly.

Zhou Yun did the same.

But at that moment, Zhou Yun wouldn’t believe Lucy’s outward friendliness was genuine.

No matter what, Lucy was at least jealous or wary of her.

Zhou Yun pondered that once the filming in Italy was done and Lucy’s part was finished, she’d see if Lucy remained in the crew.

Unexpectedly, just as Zhou Yun was thinking about this, Lucy suddenly started a conflict with Zeng Yeng.

The disagreement began when Zeng Yeng approached Lucy, advising her not to cling to Wen Bing on set when not filming, as their public displays of affection might discomfort the other crew members.

Zeng Yeng’s words were actually quite polite; she tried to preserve Lucy’s dignity as well as Wen Bing’s. After all the effort to ease tensions with Wen Bing, she wouldn’t want more disputes.

But Lucy reacted fiercely.

Lucy angrily accused Zeng Yeng, ”Why are you singling me out?”

Zeng Yeng was startled by Lucy’s sudden emotional outburst and instinctively tried to soothe her.

”Lucy, I’m not comforting you nor blaming you. You and Wen Bing have just started seeing each other and are in the honeymoon phase; I get that you both want to be together all the time. But we’re filming now, aren’t we? It’s not just you and Wen Bing on set; he’s a director and has work beyond spending time with you.”

Lucy grew more furious.

She asked, ”Do you think I’m disrupting Wen Bing’s work?”

Zeng Yeng had never seen Lucy like this before.

Previously, Lucy had never lost her temper in front of Zeng Yeng.

”That’s not what I mean; it’s a perception everyone gets,” Zeng Yeng also became annoyed.

If Lucy wasn’t Wen Bing’s girlfriend, would Zeng Yeng have tolerated her temper this long?

Lucy sneered slightly and said, ”But no one else has ever said they felt affected, only you.”

”Because I am the producer,” Zeng Yeng suddenly didn’t care to speak nicely to Lucy anymore, ”Lucy, you need to understand clearly. Whether you’re Wen Bing’s girlfriend or anyone else’s, the crew you’re currently part of is under my control. I’m speaking to you politely now; listen well while I’m still willing to talk nicely.”

Zeng Yeng was never considered a pushover.

Her assertiveness was widely known in the industry, and even if Lucy hadn’t heard of it before, she had witnessed it during Zeng Yeng’s confrontations with Wen Bing while on set.
