Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1313: Chapter 694: This Stance (3)

Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”That’s good. You’ve been too tired recently, it’s good to take a break.”

Song Chi said, ”What about you? Do you want to take a break?”

”After filming ’Female Assassin,’ there won’t be any other shows until the end of the year when I’ll film ’Killing Song.’ In between, I promised Yuh Huaijiang to make a cameo in a show for him. Other than that, there’s nothing else.” Zhou Yun smiled, ”It’s also July right now.”

Not long after saying this, Zhou Lan brought a script to Zhou Yun.

”Chen Wenjun sent a script over. Initially, I was going to reject it, but I think you’ll be interested in this one, and the script is truly well-written. It’s a spy war genre you haven’t acted in before,” Zhou Lan said. ”The screenwriter is Zhi Wei from ’Laissez-faire’, and Song Chi is starring. Chen Wenjun reached out wanting to invite you to play the female lead, especially since you two haven’t collaborated since ’Heart Inquiry.’”

Previously, Chen Wenjun had mentioned to Zhou Yun about inviting her to act alongside Song Chi in ’Moon Sinking at Sea,’ but Zhou Yun hadn’t taken it seriously.

Their fees are both top-tier, and it’s difficult for a single drama to bring together two high-priced actors, as that means a significant increase in cost, potentially leading to losses in the end.

Zhou Yun wasn’t sure what Chen Wenjun was planning in this regard.

However, for this show, Chen Wenjun personally came all the way to Gambian.

Chen Wenjun arrived in a hurry, and upon meeting Zhou Yun, said, ”As long as you take on this role, we can talk about the fee.”

Zhou Yun didn’t reject it outright.

It’s not because of Chen Wenjun’s words; honestly, at this point, she’s not short of this fee.

On one hand, Zhou Yun felt that working on a show with Song Chi would be great, as it would allow the two to spend some time together. On the other hand, Song Chi had mentioned the script before. As an actress, she finds it hard to resist a good script.

The timing is right too, so Zhou Yun thought, why not consider it?

She hesitated, saying, ”President Chen, could I ask you a direct question?”

Chen Wenjun nodded, ”Of course.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll be direct, the fees for me and Song Chi are not low, inviting both of us as leads entails significant investment, will it be possible to recoup the costs later?”

Chen Wenjun replied, ”If it were another script, maybe not. But ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is a spy war drama, it has the potential to become a national hit. I’m optimistic about its profit potential.”

Zhou Yun was slightly taken aback.

Is Chen Wenjun so confident about this series?

Perhaps because of recent big hits, capital influx, Chen Wenjun’s side suddenly became financially ample?

Zhou Yun said, ”President Chen, to be honest, I am interested in filming this series, but I can’t decide right now because I promised someone a cameo in July, also, I’m really exhausted these past two years. Once I finish filming ’Female Assassin,’ I want to take a good rest, then by the end of the year, I’ll be filming ’Killing Song.’”

Chen Wenjun nodded, ”Xiao Yun, I understand, I’m sure everyone wants to work with you now. We’ve known each other for quite a few years, I’ve been consistently sending scripts to you, hoping to invite you to act, but due to various reasons, we haven’t collaborated. However, I’ve never come specially to ask you to film, until now. This show is different because, for an actor like you, fees are never the reason for taking a role. Were the previous scripts good? Yes, but not good enough for me to personally persuade you to act. ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is different; it’s the best TV drama script I’ve come across in recent years, even better than ’Laissez-faire.’ Upon finishing the script, I immediately told myself that I must find the best, most suitable cast for it. So you asked me if hiring you and Song Chi as leads is too expensive? Yes, but I believe it’s worth it. I’m a businessman, I make films to earn money, while also aiming to create a classic work, something I can boast about for a lifetime.”

Honestly, Chen Wenjun’s words moved Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun said, ”President Chen, give me some time to think, okay?”

Chen Wenjun nodded, said, ”Alright, no problem, it’s perfect because I get to explore the place for a couple of days; I’ve never been to Africa.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but smile wryly.

Chen Wenjun’s stance seemed like he wouldn’t leave until he got Zhou Yun’s answer here.
