Chapter 1321: Chapter 697: Set Visit Surprise (Part 2)

Zhou Yun was quite surprised to hear what Zheng Xiaojue said.

Whether Zheng Xiaojue’s words were right or wrong, they definitely didn’t sound like something she’d say.

Because... it actually sounded quite cultured? The phrases were used very skillfully.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Xiaoju, where did you learn these phrases?”

”From reading books,” Zheng Xiaojue replied. ”I found that reading has its benefits, I’ve learned a lot of new words.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”That’s rare.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, don’t make fun of me. I know I haven’t read much, but I didn’t like reading before. Now, I actually enjoy it.”

”That’s because you used to read books that others wanted you to read, and now you read the books you want to read,” Zhou Yun said.

Zheng Xiaojue nodded.

”Yes, that’s right,” she nodded.

Zhou Yun said, ”Anyway, reading is a good habit. Xiaoju, Xiaoyun, you both should keep it up.”

”I will,” Zheng Xiaojue said. ”To be honest, Sister Xiao Yun, being around you, if I don’t read more books, I feel quite uncultured.”

Zhou Yun: ”Huh? Have I given you that much pressure?”

”No, no, I didn’t mean that,” Zheng Xiaojue quickly shook her head. ”Actually, I mean to say, Sister Xiao Yun, being your assistant is great. We all unknowingly push ourselves to improve.”

”Does it give you too much pressure?” Zhou Yun asked.

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head.

”Of course not,” Zheng Xiaojue said. ”You’ve never forced us to read. If you did, we’d feel a lot of pressure, but that’s not the case here.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I just hope you can strengthen yourselves. You can’t be my assistants for your whole lives. Like Xiaoju, you’re my executive manager now, but won’t be for life. Learning more and enriching yourselves will definitely benefit your futures.”

”Hmm.” Zheng Xiaojue nodded.

Liu Yun also nodded.

Zhou Yun truly cared a lot for her two assistants.

She sincerely hoped they both would get better and better.

Zheng Xiaojue said excitedly, ”Actually, I’ve made a lot of progress now. You know, I can communicate in English with foreigners now, although if a foreigner speaks bad English, I still can’t understand.”

After saying this, Zheng Xiaojue stuck out her tongue.

Zhou Yun was quite surprised.

”Really? That’s fast progress!”

”Haha, proud,” Zheng Xiaojue lifted her head and chest, feeling very pleased.

”Sister Xiao Yun, I won’t be afraid to travel abroad with you in the future.”

Zhou Yun knew how difficult it was to learn a foreign language. It’s not an easy thing. Especially for someone like Zheng Xiaojue, who practically lost all her middle and high school English education.

But Zheng Xiaojue managed to push herself to this extent, which truly surprised Zhou Yun.

That Zheng Xiaojue had such self-discipline.

This made Zhou Yun see her in a new light.

Because, in Zhou Yun’s mind, Zheng Xiaojue was actually a bit of a lazy girl.

After telling Song Chi about this, Song Chi looked at her in surprise and asked, ”Didn’t you know that Zheng Xiaojue is now often called Sister Xiaoju in the industry?”

”Huh?” Zhou Yun was taken aback.

This was the first time she’d heard about it and hadn’t expected it at all.

Song Chi laughed and said, ”She’s probably handling some of the work on your behalf, right? Many partners have high praise for her.”

”I’ve never heard of it,” Zhou Yun said in surprise. ”She is indeed handling some work for me, but mostly still assists me.”

”Yeah, but even for those things, she does them quite professionally,” Song Chi said. ”The kind of hotel you stay in, how your room should be, your special needs, she communicates everything very well. I’ve heard about it too, so you can imagine how good her reputation is that it spreads like this.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”It seems I should give Xiaoju more opportunities to shine in the future. She’s never mentioned these things to me.”

”These are small matters. It’s normal she doesn’t mention them to you. But as we both know, having a capable assistant is essential for us,” Song Chi said. ”Even now, I’m afraid to change assistants for this reason. It’s too hard to find someone you trust and who knows how to do the job well.”
