Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1343: Chapter 704: Under the Grand Dress Airs_3

”Almost 20 million.” Chen Wenjun used a tone that said, ”I’m not joking with you,” to solemnly express a point; he really spent that much money to get this script written. So, naturally, he said, ”Why would I let anyone mess up the script I spent so much money on?”

Zhou Lan found himself actually convinced.

Not because of respect for creation, nor because of ideological alignment, but—

He spent so much money, how could he ruin it?

This is truly an irrefutable reason.

May is a good month.

Another year of the Cannes Film Festival arrived as scheduled. Zhou Yun received an invitation, but she could only politely decline and did not attend.

Because she was too busy filming and also not wanting to go there as a mere spectator.

Aside from the Cannes Film Festival, there were several other large international events, which Zhou Yun also politely declined.

For example, the MET GALA, the fashion ”Oscars” in the United States.

This year, they sent an invitation to Zhou Yun as well.

However, Zhou Yun was unable to attend.

During Zhou Yun’s absence this month, Wang Jing appeared on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, as a spokesperson for a sponsoring brand.

Xu Siyao appeared at the MET GALA. Her look spread wildly domestically and was momentarily extremely popular.

Yu Sitian officially announced she would star in a web drama produced by a streaming platform.

Ning Yao returned from filming in Korea and then headed to the United States, joining the cast of Swank Brussels’ ”Black Forest,” portraying a mysterious, powerful woman—the same drama Jiang Yuzhen acted in. Photos from the filming set stirred excitement and attention domestically online.

Wei Ru Xue seemed to be negotiating future collaborations with directors Kang Xin and Cong Lan consecutively. Meanwhile, nominations for the 36th Huayu Award were about to be announced. The mainstream drama ”Sea Realm,” which Wei Ru Xue previously starred in, was highly anticipated, and fans were already creating buzz.

Not to mention always active and top-line Su Yan and Lew Qingqing.

These two long-time famous actresses have always been competitive with each other.

The entertainment industry is never solely about Zhou Yun; so many celebrities and artists exist, some rise to fame while others fade, and the overall landscape keeps changing.

Just like Gu Huaichun, whose ancient-themed drama filmed two years ago aired in May and was mocked, with critiques saying his acting hasn’t improved despite the show’s popularity. Thus, Gu Huaichun’s agent hasn’t arranged any public appearances for him lately.

And Yuk Chu, who gained audience attention at the beginning of the year because of ”Deep Sea,” later made headlines due to pregnancy and reconciliation with Yin Zhou, but then two previous dramas aired without much impact—leading to ridicule that without Zhou Yun, she still couldn’t carry the series.

Everyone is caught in the shifts of such a dynamic.

At this time, a drama Zhou Yun previously filmed was preparing for broadcasting.

This was Zhou Yun’s first time overseeing a drama and Chengqian’s self-produced series.

”Under the Grand Dress.”

It is a fashion drama, a type and theme Zhou Yun had never aired before.

This drama had long been intended for broadcast, but due to external circumstances—on one side, the TV stations frequently lost airtime, and on the other, Zhou Yun’s schedule was never free for promoting.

Finally, a schedule emerged showing when ”Under the Grand Dress” could be aired; the review passed, and even though Zhou Yun couldn’t return to promote, Chengqian decided to broadcast it.

If it weren’t broadcasted, those fashions would no longer be fashion.

Zhou Yun recorded a promotional video for this drama.

Her absence didn’t hinder Chengqian Film and Television from extensively promoting the show.

The main promotion point, of course, remains Zhou Yun.

However, all the show recordings were entrusted to Zhou Jianfeng, Cheng Shenlv, and other young actors.

Chengqian Entertainment also made great efforts, hoping to use this drama to launch Zhou Jianfeng into stardom.

Zhou Jianfeng had been waiting for this drama to air for a long time.

Earlier in the year, the successful broadcast of ”Deep Sea” continued Zhou Yun’s ratings miracle, and everyone wondered whether the genre-shifted ”Under the Grand Dress” would also achieve both acclaim and box office success.

Zhou Yun’s fans spontaneously started promoting the drama.

Of course, since their goddess finally had a show airing again, they must put forth maximum effort in supporting it.

On the premiere night, ”Under the Grand Dress” quickly topped the hot searches across major platforms.
