Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1333: Chapter 701: Artist (2)

Zhou Yun was pondering a question: how can people articulate one reason after another and yet confidently toss them aside?

Of course, perhaps only she could do so.

Maybe some people are capable of ”ritually denouncing one’s own kin.”

After the production of Lucia wrapped up, Zhou Yun hadn’t heard any news about Lucia. Zhou Yun thought, given the conflict between Lucia, Zeng Yeng, and Wen Bing, the subsequent promotions and screening activities probably wouldn’t invite Lucia to participate.

Thinking about this made Zhou Yun feel a bit helpless.

In fact, Lucia is an actor who can deliver very impressive performances at certain moments.

Zhou Yun felt that if some reasons caused Lucia’s performance in this film to ultimately not be showcased, it would be a great pity.

But this wasn’t something she could decide.

Moreover, New Shield might not necessarily take such action.

Would Wen Bing do it?

From what she knew about him, she thought he wouldn’t do it.

The temperature was gradually rising.

As time passed, spring was coming to an end, and summer was on its way.

Zhou Yun had already received the complete script of ”Moon Sinking at Sea” and began reading it to prepare herself.

Of course, she still dedicated most of her time to filming the movie ”Female Assassin.”

The two productions are entirely different in style.

Zhou Yun didn’t dare delve too deeply into ”Moon Sinking at Sea” for risk of affecting her performance in ”Female Assassin.”

Song Chi was already preparing for the filming of the TV series ”Moon Sinking at Sea.”

The news about this production had already spread within the industry.

Song Chi and Zhou Yun teamed up again, plus this was a group play; apart from their roles, there were many other roles with substantial screen time and great character design. According to Zhou Lan, the entire entertainment circle was going crazy to join.

Even Lew Qingqing was vying for a supporting female role.

Zhou Lan was astonished about this: ”Let’s not forget, Chen Wenjun played a clever hand this time. By doing this, many celebrities want to act in this show. With the increased competition, the initiative goes into his hands, allowing him to choose who will perform. Then you ask, why would he insist on having both you and Song Chi in this drama? Take Lew Qingqing, if it weren’t for you and Song Chi starring, she wouldn’t compete for a supporting role; she may be past her peak, but wouldn’t consider playing a supporting role. Plus, she just recently regained her popularity with ’Heart Palpitating.’”

In this industry, there’s a lot of fate-belief.

Sometimes, it’s unavoidable.

Some people are simply lucky; whatever they act in becomes a hit.

More people believe in those who’ve succeeded before.

Like Song Chi and Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun asked, ”If Lew Qingqing acts in this, wouldn’t the actor salaries be shockingly high?”

Zhou Lan replied, ”As long as Chen Wenjun holds the negotiation’s initiative, salaries aren’t a problem. I heard Chen Wenjun would pay Lew Qingqing using a package deal.”

”A package deal?”

”Chen Wenjun will directly sign a two-series contract with Lew Qingqing, one being ’Moon Sinking at Sea,’ and the other starring Lew Qingqing. This way, Lew Qingqing’s salary wouldn’t be calculated per piece, saving quite a lot.” Zhou Lan explained, ”It’s actually a method; if we’re investing or making films in the future, we could use this method to save on salaries. Of course, the prerequisite is that the person genuinely wants to act in your show.”

”In any case, regarding actor salaries, there’s no need to worry at all. Not to mention these methods, didn’t I tell you this before? Chen Wenjun recently got several big funds. In the past two months, he’s been crazily starting films, investing, while the projects under production have nearly doubled.” Zhou Lan said, ”Oh, and let me tell you, I personally invested five million in ’Moon Sinking at Sea’; I believe this drama will surely make a profit.”

The reason Zhou Lan wanted to share this with Zhou Yun was that everyone knew this project would be profitable; thus, qualifying to enter wasn’t just about having money.

Zhou Lan’s ability to get involved was obviously because of Zhou Yun starring; otherwise, her mere five million for such a major investment-level drama like ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ was nothing significant.

Besides Zhou Lan’s personal investment, Zhou Yun was also invested with part of her salary.

”I initially wanted Lu Zhongting to get one of the roles, but ultimately couldn’t outdo another insider connection.” Zhou Lan’s words implicitly acknowledged Lu Zhongting was also relying on insider routes.
