Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1342: Chapter 704: Under the Grand Dress Airs_2

Zhou Lan immediately took Su Yan’s intentions seriously as soon as she realized them.

If a celebrity of Su Yan’s level deliberately wants to cause trouble, the destructive force can be quite strong.

Zhou Lan immediately invited Chen Wenjun out for dinner.

”President Chen, Xiao Yun is about to finish filming ’Female Assassin’, and we signed a preliminary contract for ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ before. It’s time for us to finalize the formal contract, isn’t it?”

Chen Wenjun nodded and said, ”Sure.”

Chen Wenjun agreed readily, which put Zhou Lan at ease halfway.

From Chen Wenjun’s attitude, it seems that Su Yan’s rivalry has done no harm to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Lan was tense because Su Yan’s track record in television is as strong as Zhou Yun’s.

Zhou Yun excels in films, while in TV series, both Wei Ru Xue and Su Yan have had explosive productions in recent years, making them extremely popular.

Hence, Zhou Lan is genuinely worried that Chen Wenjun might change his mind under Su Yan’s persuasion.

Even though Zhou Yun doesn’t necessarily have to star in this TV series.

For Zhou Yun, appearing in more films is far more beneficial to her career than TV series.

Zhou Yun’s focus is now international rather than domestic.

’Deep Sea’ has achieved the best results for Chinese dramas on streaming platforms, but globally, it does little to boost Zhou Yun’s career.

That’s the truth.

However, Zhou Lan cannot allow Su Yan to snatch the series away right under her nose.

Not doing it themselves is one thing; having Su Yan take it is another.

Moreover, the male lead of the series is Song Chi.

Zhou Lan knows how much Zhou Yun wants to act in another project with Song Chi.

Zhou Lan said, ”By the way, President Chen, I’ve heard that Su Yan is also interested in ’Moon Sinking at Sea’.”

Chen Wenjun paused, smiled, nodded, and said, ”Yes, she did come to me, but my first choice is surely Xiao Yun. So, I refused her early on. I really want to collaborate with Xiao Yun on this project. I’ve said it before; I want the best cast for this show.”

Zhou Lan believed in the sincerity of Chen Wenjun’s words.

The casting for ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is currently one of the most watched topics in the industry. Various gossip outlets are focused on the casting, releasing the latest updates daily.

For instance, Lew Qingqing has secured the second female lead.

For instance, Wang Jing was seen dining out with screenwriter Zhi Wei, possibly discussing her role in ’Moon Sinking at Sea’.

For instance, Yin Lin is also eyeing the script and is in talks with the producers to adapt it into a film.

Various rumors are flying everywhere.

As one of the co-producers, Zhou Lan holds the title, but doesn’t have actual authority.

She’s involved mainly due to investment, and as Zhou Yun’s agent, represents Zhou Yun’s studio in name.

She took this opportunity to learn a bit more from Chen Wenjun.

”President Chen, I’ve heard Lew Qingqing has already signed on for the second female lead role?”

”Ah, yes,” Chen Wenjun said with a smile, ”Surprising, right? I didn’t expect she would agree to play a supporting role one day. It just proves how amazing Zhou Yun is, making such a proud celebrity like Lew Qingqing willing to be the second lead.”

”Lew Qingqing has known Xiao Yun for a long time, after all. She knows Xiao Yun isn’t cocky or arrogant. Besides, though she’s the second lead, ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is actually a large ensemble drama, with many major roles and ensemble scenes. As long as the series becomes a hit, the audience’s affection for the first and second female leads might not differ much. Though, President Chen, we shouldn’t adjust or revise the script for someone, right?” Zhou Lan asked, ”The script for ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is already well-developed. I’m particularly worried that changing it due to someone’s desire might ruin it, which would be a big loss.”

”Don’t worry about this; have you heard of me adding scenes specifically for someone? Chen Wenjun firmly patted his chest, saying, ”You don’t need to worry about this, Zhou Lan, do you know how much it cost to hire Zhi Wei to write this script and then sell it to me?”

Chen Wenjun’s tone carried a hint of mystery and also a hint of joy.

Zhou Lan asked courteously, ”How much?”
