Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 998: Chapter 592: The Banquet (Part 4)

Shi Luoqi was the first to speak sarcastically, ”Hollywood is indeed the most developed place in the film industry, but without talented cinema people from all over the world, how could it continue its glory?”

Bruce spread his hands, ”We have never denied that, we always hope to collaborate with the best people.”

”Yes, and you also always hope to expand the market in China,” Zhou Yun followed swiftly, ”even creating superhero movies with Chinese elements.”

Bruce chuckled twice and said, ”We are simply very interested in the cultures of different countries, and we hope to produce all good stories into films for audiences worldwide.”

”Uh-huh.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”In an arrogant way that looks down on others?”

Bruce’s face stiffened.

Zhou Yun: ”Just kidding, don’t take it to heart.”

Bruce let out a slight humph.

Smith looked at the two with surprise, somewhat regretting bringing Bruce over.

He didn’t expect such a conflict to occur between them.

”Miss Zhou Yun seems to hold a low opinion of our American production companies?” Bruce continued, ”Since you disdain our values so much, why did you agree to shoot Mélando’s ’Killing Song’? If you are a true artist, you should continue making movies like ’Life’ and ’Behind the Scenes’. No one denies your achievements in film art.”

”Mr. Bruce, I chose to work with Mélando because during our communication, their representatives showed respect and enthusiasm towards me. I have never been a performer unwilling to collaborate with film companies from other countries. I just don’t like working with people I don’t like.” Zhou Yun’s English flowed without a stutter, maintaining an assertive yet composed posture, ”It’s understandable Mr. Bruce feels proud of his country and industry, but Mr. Bruce, don’t forget, having worked with many people from different countries, I believe you never belittle their film industries in their presence, right?”

Zhou Yun’s attitude was very assertive.

Bruce seemed caught off guard by Zhou Yun’s assertiveness, words stuck in his throat, unable to speak a single word.

Smith cheerfully stepped in to mediate, saying, ”Bruce, look, you’ve upset Miss Zhou. Aren’t you going to apologize?”

Bruce was about to speak.

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Oh, no need, I’m not asking Mr. Bruce to apologize. I just wanted to clarify that I didn’t like what he said earlier and hope he won’t say such things again. That’s enough.”

Smith said, ”Miss Zhou really doesn’t back down even a little, does she?”

Smith’s words were pointed.

Why wouldn’t Zhou Yun want Bruce to apologize? Especially since Smith urged the apology?

See how Smith phrased it earlier?

—”Bruce, look, you’ve upset Miss Zhou. Aren’t you going to apologize?”

It was because Zhou Yun was upset that Bruce needed to apologize, not because Bruce said something wrong and needed to apologize.

Zhou Yun obviously wouldn’t accept it.

So Smith said that Zhou Yun wouldn’t back down even a little.

The exchange of sharp words between the few continued, but at a banquet filled with celebrities, their discussion ended uncordially, and there were others to greet.

Among them was He Wenyun.

He Wenyun was no less the center of attention today than Zhou Yun.

Everyone was well-informed and knew that this person had worked on a film with Director Spielberg, was about to premiere it, and would soon star in Paimon’s blockbuster ’Chinese Warrior,’ promising a bright future.

Once welcomed in social settings, even if one does not wish to stand out, the environment inevitably highlights one.

He Wenyun and Zhou Yun finally met.

”Xiao Yun.” He Wenyun smiled happily at her, reaching out to hold Zhou Yun’s hand, ”I knew you’d be here, but I couldn’t find you.”

In a place this size, if one truly wanted to find someone, how could they not?

Since ’Deep Sea’ wrapped filming, this was the first meeting between Zhou Yun and He Wenyun.

He Wenyun looked even better than when filming ’Deep Sea.’

”Is the whole series of ’Deep Sea’ finished filming?” He Wenyun asked.
