Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 960: Chapter 584: Reversal (Part 3)

How could they not envy, not be jealous.

”He Yong even sent me a generous bonus under the company’s name,” Zhou Lan said, ”Just because we successfully made Yuk Chu popular, now many actors in similar situations as Yuk Chu are seeking out He Yong, wanting to sign with Chengqian Entertainment.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That’s quite an unexpected joy for He Yong.”

”Yes.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”In short, Chengqian’s performance this year is likely not a concern. Just the returns brought by Wang Jing and Yuk Chu are new growth points. It’s a pity about Li Ci, alas.”

Hearing this, Zhou Yun asked, ”What happened to Li Ci?”

Zhou Lan said, ”All of Li Ci’s work has been halted.”

”Ah? Why?” Zhou Yun asked in shock.

Zhou Lan said, ”The company received an anonymous threatening letter about Li Ci, listing many disgraceful matters involving Li Ci, threatening the company that if Li Ci appears in public again, they will directly expose them. Currently, He Yong is overwhelmed with this matter, but for safety’s sake, Li Ci’s work had to be temporarily stopped.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but ask curiously, ”What kind of shameful things did Li Ci do before to be threatened to this extent?”

Zhou Lan: ”I haven’t found out either. Not many people know about these things. They are secrets, and if others know them, they’ll hold them as leverage.”

”Isn’t Li Ci quite free recently?”

”What leisure? He Yong said that since he isn’t scheduling work for him recently anyway, he has arranged full acting classes for him, just to sharpen his skills.”

”He Yong hasn’t given up on Li Ci yet?”

”If you were the company boss and could see how much each artist earns for the company, you might understand why He Yong is reluctant to give up on Li Ci.” Zhou Lan said, ”With Li Ci’s fame and fan base, even if he’s past his prime, the money he can earn for the company isn’t something other ordinary artists can compete with. He Yong has invested so much effort on Li Ci before, how could he easily give him up completely? It’s just that lately he is indeed preparing a backup, pouring many resources onto Zhang Mo.”

”I see.”

”The atmosphere within the company isn’t very good right now.” Zhou Lan said, ”Resource allocation is quite unbalanced, especially as He Yong plans to sign several artists who have been in the industry for years and gained some notoriety. Many newcomers are worried they’ll get even fewer resources in the future.”

”Each takes care of their own mess,” Zhou Yun said, ”This isn’t something we can control, whatever He Yong plans to do, that’s his business, we can’t intervene.”

”That’s easy to say, but many newcomers feel you are the company’s leading lady, and you should speak up for them.” Zhou Lan said helplessly, ”I’ve already heard quite a few such voices.”

Zhou Yun said, ”If He Yong were deceiving, exploiting, or using them, if such things occurred, I would have no hesitation in speaking for them. But if it’s merely the company’s resource allocation, honestly, I have no stance to intervene in this matter, with what right to intervene? How can it be divided? Who gets more, who gets less, or is it equally divided? How should it be equally divided? The company is willing to invest more resources into certain people, it’s the company’s action, not taking from others to give to someone else.”

”That’s true, but Xiao Yun, you shouldn’t express it that way, or it might affect your public image.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but sigh.

”I know, I will be careful.”

”As for the internal company matters, I’ll keep an eye on them, and try to prevent those things from affecting us.” Zhou Lan said, ”But it’s very difficult, wherever we go, we carry the Chengqian Entertainment label, there’s no way to shed it, we can only try to minimize these impacts.”

”Alright.”

”Well, anyway, we are already doing very well, all the efforts have had returns, that’s the best result.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”We’ll settle for a few more years and strive to become completely independent in the future.”

”Sister Lan, keep it up!”

”Keep it up, let’s all work hard together. Without you, my goal cannot be achieved.”

”Not at all, now Xiao Jing and Chuchu are becoming famous, aren’t they?”

”That’s not the same thing. Their popularity is only temporary. They haven’t established a foothold in this circle yet. They must release a few more representative works to gain a certain voice.” Zhou Lan said, ”Regardless, let’s all put in the effort.”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded seriously.

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Yun took a deep breath.

Xin Zhike suddenly came over.

”Xiao Yun, Xiao Yun, do you have time tonight?”
