Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 990: Chapter 591: Journey to the United States (6)

The two people embarked on completely different paths.

Under Yuehai’s arrangement, Gu Huaichun took the route of popularity.

The dramas he took part in were all aimed at fans or the market.

Of course, he acted very well, and among the fast-changing stars on the popularity route, he steadily built up a reputation for good acting skills.

Each of his roles was convincing—not necessarily only serious dramas could achieve this effect.

The key point is that every play he starred in never flopped, it was just a matter of small fire and big fire.

After ”Eighth Heartbeat,” ”Dark Sky” had a small boom, filming three seasons in total, completely solidifying his popularity, and several other dramas aired during this time all received a lot of appreciation.

This truly captured the hearts of advertisers and investors.

Zhou Lan had actually heard many things about Gu Huaichun from others.

Those things weren’t necessarily positive.

Some even said Gu Huaichun was difficult to work with, acted like a diva on set, and had a bad attitude towards staff.

Zhou Lan didn’t outright dismiss these as fabrications or falsehoods.

Back when Gu Huaichun filmed ”Eighth Heartbeat” with Zhou Yun, he wasn’t a cooperative actor either.

At the beginning, he also infuriated Zhou Yun quite a bit.

Zhou Lan thought Gu Huaichun had changed. It’s not surprising, as it’s quite normal for a celebrity to become arrogant, rude, and self-important after gaining fame.

But everything Gu Huaichun just displayed made him seem like a gentle, enthusiastic person.

After settling, everyone went to a nearby restaurant to eat.

Zhou Lan said, ”Meeting in New York this time is a fate, in a foreign country, it’s worth a toast.”

Everyone raised their glasses and gently clinked them.

Still in the Chinese manner of toasting.

Gu Huaichun smiled and said, ”It is indeed fate. Before coming to the United States, I didn’t even know Xiao Yun was here, until I heard from the collaborators here.”

”Hmm?”

Gu Huaichun said, ”I also had a shoot yesterday, and the makeup artist told me they would be doing Zhou Yun’s makeup tomorrow and asked if I knew Zhou Yun.”

”What a coincidence, even the makeup team is the same.” Zhou Lan said in surprise.

”Yes.” Gu Huaichun nodded, ”I was surprised too when I heard, it’s too coincidental.”

”What’s so coincidental about it, we’re all shooting in New York. How many good makeup teams can there be here? It’s not unusual to run into one.” Zhou Yun said, ”When we shoot magazines domestically, don’t we often work with just a few teams?”

”That’s true.” Gu Huaichun nodded.

”Did your agent not come?” Zhou Yun asked.

Gu Huaichun said, ”He did, but I told him I wanted to be alone today, so he didn’t bother me.”

”Exactly, it’s hard to leave a familiar environment and be yourself.” Zhou Yun said, ”We really can’t be as relaxed in China as we are in the United States, where not many people know us.”

”Who knows after ’Killing Song’ is released.” Gu Huaichun said, ”When are you shooting this movie?”

”That will take a long time, at the earliest until the end of next year.” Zhou Yun said, ”I haven’t even seen the complete script yet.”

”Hmm.” Gu Huaichun said, ”Don’t forget to invite me to the premiere.”

”The premiere will definitely be held in the United States.” Zhou Yun said, ”So far, will you come?”

”If you invite me, I’ll certainly come.” Gu Huaichun said.

Zhou Yun smiled.

New York in November was already very cold.

There was no snow, but the cold wind was biting.

When everyone walked out of the restaurant, a destitute homeless man approached them for alms.

No matter how prosperous a city, there are still those who are struggling at the bottom.

Since Gu Huaichun wasn’t staying at the same hotel as Zhou Yun and the others, they parted ways at the restaurant entrance.

Zhou Yun and the others returned to the hotel.

”It’s so cold.” Zheng Xiaojue stomped her foot, her little face flushed.

Zhou Yun said, ”Hurry back, take a hot shower and sleep.”

Zhou Lan reminded, ”Don’t forget there’s a shoot tomorrow morning.”

Zhou Yun sighed.

Luckily, tomorrow’s shoot wasn’t as packed as today, just needed to shoot a set of indoor photos.

Today was a major shoot for a fashion magazine, where the advertisers invested a lot, and it was a relatively high-profile magazine, demanding higher standards.
