Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 997: Chapter 592: Banquet (Part 3)

Shi Luoqi smiled and waved her hand, saying, ”Smith, the two of them were already top in this field before they met me. Zhou Yun is the most elite actress in China, and Xue Qin has always been working as an assistant director for Chen Zian. They weren’t discovered by me, but now they are so loved and popular in the United States, this is your achievement. Without your support, many people wouldn’t have recognized the film ’Behind the Scenes’, and many wouldn’t have recognized them either.”

Smith looked at Zhou Yun and said, ”I heard you’re going to collaborate with Mélando on a new film next?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded.

”Mélando’s films have been quite mediocre these years, why did you choose to act in their film?” Smith asked, ”Isn’t Paimon producing a film with Chinese as the main characters? It’s called ’Chinese Warrior’, why aren’t you acting in that film?”

Zhou Yun said with a smile, ”Only Mélando approached me, Paimon didn’t.”

Smith showed a look of surprise.

”Really?”

”Yes.” Zhou Yun nodded.

Smith was puzzled, suddenly he saw someone and called out ”Bruce.”

Bruce from Paimon was right beside talking to another person, upon hearing Smith’s shout, he quickly said two words to the person he was conversing with, then walked over.

”Hi, Smith.” Bruce stood next to Smith, fully displaying his usual self-control and self-discipline, even approaching middle age, he was still fit and exuding masculine charm, and he clearly was aware of his own charm. While talking to Smith, his eyes glanced at Zhou Yun and Shi Luoqi, and he broke into a smile.

Smith said, ”I just asked Zhou Yun, she said ’Chinese Warrior’ didn’t invite her to act in the film, is this true?”

Bruce was momentarily stunned.

Smith said, ”I really don’t understand why you at Paimon would do this. Her films ’Life’ and ’Behind the Scenes’ have received a lot of praise, she’s a rising star, why would you choose an unknown newcomer instead?”

Zhou Yun hadn’t expected Smith to ask so directly.

She was momentarily stunned.

From Bruce’s calm expression, it actually showed he was a bit embarrassed and flustered, he probably didn’t expect to be asked such an awkward question by Smith right after coming over.

”Actually, it’s not choosing an unknown newcomer. He Wenyun previously collaborated with us, her film with director Spielberg is about to be released, you’ll know her by then. She’s also a talented young actress, just like Miss Zhou Yun.” Bruce said, ”Oh, she also came tonight.”

Bruce shook his head and looked around, seemingly trying to find He Wenyun.

But after looking around for a while, he couldn’t find her.

Smith was surprised to hear Spielberg’s name, saying ”She even filmed a movie with Spielberg?”

”Yes.” Bruce nodded, speaking with a tone of pride, coupled with a somewhat condescending look at Zhou Yun, as if he was mocking Zhou Yun for being inadequate. Bruce’s look made Zhou Yun feel uncomfortable inside. ”After all, not just anyone can be noticed and chosen by Director Spielberg to act in his film.”

Zhou Yun maintained her smile, not taking those overt words to heart, but said, ”He Wenyun is indeed a good actress, I acted in my last film with her, and our collaboration was very pleasant.”

Bruce looked at her with a bit of surprise, ”You actually know He Wenyun?”

Zhou Yun laughed, saying ”Yes, we are quite familiar.”

Bruce said, ”I heard she returned to develop in China, and signed part of her management contract with Chinese agencies. To me, this is somewhat unwise. The world’s most talented people are here with us. She’s already done two films, her future is promising. Look, we’re preparing a film here, the whole world is paying attention, it’s much more prominent than shooting films in China, isn’t it?”

Bruce’s arrogance was evident.

Bruce was truly arrogant, actually expressing disdain for Chinese films in front of so many Chinese people like Zhou Yun, Zhou Lan, and Shi Luoqi.
