Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 994: Chapter 591: Trip to the United States (10)

At this moment, Zheng Xiaojue had already called the hospital’s security and nurses over.

Finally, these uninvited individuals were escorted out of the ward.

Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief.

You Jiang thanked them.

”This morning, while having breakfast at the hotel, I saw a newspaper mentioning a Chinese male actor was robbed last night and admitted to the hospital. Now people have quickly found out about it, Teacher You, I’m worried that more media will come over,” Zhou Yun said. ”Do you think we should contact the people from Paimon and ask them to provide some assistance? Otherwise, we’re unfamiliar with this place and won’t be able to deter these people.”

You Jiang said, ”The people from Paimon won’t help us stop them. They would love for more people to pay attention to this incident. I’m on the news, which will also bring more attention to ’Behind the Scenes,’ just like what happened to you with that issue.”

Zhou Yun realized suddenly, enlightened.

Yes, it was something she overlooked.

Thinking about it, Zhou Yun suddenly recalled her previous suspicions about the person who attacked her at the hotel.

Were the two young men who robbed Teacher You last night really just an accident?

”Teacher You, have you been in close contact with the people from Paimon lately?” Zhou Yun asked.

Actually, Zhou Yun asked this wanting to know You Jiang’s opinion about the people from Paimon, but You Jiang obviously misunderstood.

You Jiang said, ”I’ve been in contact a lot, but it’s not to the extent that they would do something that doesn’t benefit them.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Then what should we do next? If the incident really escalates and attracts many media outlets, relying on just one assistant won’t be able to block them, right?”

You Jiang is an older-generation actor, and the domestic company he signed with earlier wasn’t any big company.

Now, he’s alone in the United States, with only an assistant by his side, while the agent is still in Los Angeles negotiating other work.

The situation is quite poor.

You Jiang said, ”There’s no choice then, just have to wait and see. Fortunately, I don’t have to stay in the hospital for long; after two days of observation, I can be discharged.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t feel at ease, see if we can find suitable bodyguards to cover for the next two days.”

”No need, it’s okay,” You Jiang said, ”There’s no need to make a fuss.”

Zhou Yun was worried that Paimon might exploit this incident to hype ’Behind the Scenes’, hurting You Jiang even more.

Not knowing what Paimon might do, Zhou Yun wasn’t optimistic about them.

”Teacher You, it’s better to be prepared. Trust me on this,” Zhou Yun said. ”Don’t be like me, realizing the importance of safety only after someone sneaked into the hotel room. Honestly, going out alone to buy things last night in the US is something I wouldn’t dare. From the news, you know there’s a lot of discrimination against Asians here; just recently, there was news of an elderly Asian lady being hit in the head by stones thrown by some white teenagers.”

You Jiang pursed his lips tightly.

Zhou Yun exchanged a glance with Zhou Lan, asking her to help arrange this matter.

Because of previous incidents, when Zhou Yun came, Zhou Lan had already contacted the security company here for Zhou Yun’s protection.

Zhou Lan has connections to find suitable bodyguards for You Jiang.

After leaving the hospital, Zhou Lan asked, ”Hiring bodyguards isn’t cheap. Perhaps Teacher You doesn’t want to hire bodyguards for this reason. He’s... he’s not that kind of actor who earns a lot. You see, he’s been in the US for so long, and he only has one assistant, whose stuttering English didn’t sound fluent. He hasn’t even hired a translator in such circumstances.”

Zhou Yun realized the problem Zhou Lan mentioned and hesitated, saying, ”Sister Lan, cover this expense for me.”

”You?” Zhou Lan looked at Zhou Yun in surprise.

”Anyway, I’ve worked with Teacher You before, and he’s a very respectable senior. I don’t want to see him bullied in a foreign land,” Zhou Yun said. ”You’re right, I didn’t think it through. The reason Teacher You stayed in the US is that he hasn’t had such a good opportunity like ’Behind the Scenes’ for a long time. He wants to use this opportunity to find more opportunities. Don’t say we’re footing the bill; communicate with Sister Luo Qi and her people, and later let the production company of ’Behind the Scenes’ pay for it in name.”

”Alright, that works too.”

Zhou Lan, being Zhou Yun’s agent, knew this money to Zhou Yun was just a small sum, so she agreed readily.

Zhou Yun said, ”Sister Lan, there’s one more thing I’d like your help with.”

”What is it?”

Zhou Yun said, ”If there are opportunities suitable for Teacher You, remember to let me know, and I’ll recommend him whenever I can.”

Zhou Lan looked at Zhou Yun in surprise.

”Alright.” She agreed.

Actually, it was Zhou Lan’s earlier words that reminded Zhou Yun.

In Zhou Yun’s eyes, You Jiang is an elder, a talented artist, and she never thought someone like Teacher You would face financial difficulties, needing to seek opportunities.

In Zhou Yun’s subconscious, Teacher You shouldn’t lack acting roles at all.

But Zhou Lan’s words woke Zhou Yun up.

Back then, You Jiang was only invited by Shi Luoqi to guest-star in ’Falling Leaves’. Calling it a guest appearance, calling it a senior actor, actually, he wasn’t very famous or marketable.

Precisely because he accidentally got the opportunity from ’Behind the Scenes’, You Jiang unexpectedly experienced a second spring in his career.

If he lacked ambition and the desire to strive further, why would he stay in the US to cooperate with the promotion and PR of ’Behind the Scenes’ all the time?

Zhou Yun realized that she could actually help not only newcomers like Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting, but also older actors like Teacher You, who have acting skills but aren’t famous due to various reasons, as much as she can.

Zhou Lan understood Zhou Yun’s meaning, she said, ”Actually, you don’t need to help Teacher You. ’Behind the Scenes’ is sure to get him some award nominations; I’ve heard that many productions are already looking for him in China.”

”It may not be what Teacher You wants to act in,” Zhou Yun said.

At Teacher You’s age, there are quite a few roles suitable for him, but the good roles are generally taken by big stars.

Teacher You won’t lack acting offers, but he might not be able to get roles he wishes to portray.

Zhou Lan nodded, saying, ”I understand, I will keep an eye out.”

She added, ”Let’s go back and rest for a bit, we’ll do styling at four, and there’s a public banquet event tonight. There will be dozens of media outlets present, your state can’t slip.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”By the way, I mentioned making a custom mask for Teacher You earlier, to cover his facial injuries. Sister Lan, can you help me look into that?” Zhou Yun said, ”With only one assistant by Teacher You’s side, he has to do many things himself, and might not have enough energy and resources.”

Zhou Lan sighed, saying, ”You’re really worried now, aren’t you?”
