Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 971: Chapter 588: Shooting Wrap-Up

Zhou Yun knows that Yuk Chu has never been a particularly ambitious person. Neither of them are the type to relentlessly pursue fame and fortune, which is why they could become friends in the first place. Zhou Yun also doesn’t want to be someone who constantly pushes her friends—she doesn’t want to see them go astray, but she also doesn’t want to encourage everyone to be overly competitive and career-focused. Different people have different personalities and different life pursuits; not everyone’s life should be defined by striving.

”Am I being rather unambitious?” Yuk Chu suddenly asked Zhou Yun with a smile.

Zhou Yun shook her head.

”Absolutely not,” Zhou Yun said. ”You’re the most ambitious person around me these past two years.”

Before Yuk Chu signed with Zhou Lan, before she collaborated with Zhou Yun on ”Deep Sea,” she had already depended on her own diligence to perform in seven or eight dramas. With her dedication to honing her acting skills, she had achieved a small success in a previous drama—an achievement she attained on her own.

She simply chose not to become an artist, but no one could say she lacks drive.

Zhou Yun particularly understands Yuk Chu’s thoughts. What once seemed like a perfect safe haven turned out to be a huge pitfall unbeknownst to her, and she had to pour all her savings and family savings into it, leaving her penniless. With no one else to rely on, she could only rely on herself. So, once laid-back Yuk Chu who entered the industry only to chase stars, became a workaholic, even more than the industrious Zhou Yun. She spent more time on set than Zhou Yun.

Yuk Chu lacks a sense of security, and she earns money to secure it for herself.

Zhou Yun greatly admires Yuk Chu.

Cui Xidong came over and hugged the two of them.

He said, ”It’s a pleasure to work with you on this drama, and to meet you both. I hope we’ll have the chance to collaborate again in the future.”

Yuk Chu said, ”Director, if you have a suitable drama, remember to reach out to me.”

”Sure,” Cui Xidong nodded.

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Same goes for me, Director Cui. If there’s a suitable role, reach out to me.”

Cui Xidong laughed and said, ”I just fear once this drama airs, it’ll be hard to fit into your schedules.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Scheduling can always be arranged. As long as there’s a good script, Director, it’s been a pleasure collaborating with you. If there’s a suitable script, especially one that lets both Chuchu and I act, count us in.”

Cui Xidong nodded and said, ”I know you two are great friends.”

”Back then, we weren’t famous,” Zhou Yun said, ”and we were already great friends. So, having this opportunity to work together now is quite rare.”

Cui Xidong said, ”I understand, I see what you mean. I’ll try my best to find a script with double female leads in the future.”

”Yes, yes.”

Zhou Yun smiled at Cui Xidong and said, ”Thank you, Director.”

It’s usual to feel a bit sentimental when wrapping up a shoot.

No matter how many times you wrap a shoot, it’s hard to get used to parting ways after spending so much time together.

People are emotional creatures, no matter how commonplace, it’s tough to become indifferent and unfeeling.

Zhou Yun specifically set aside a long period to take photos with everyone for remembrance.

She hadn’t done this before, but later on saw in an interview with an artist that many want to take photos but feel embarrassed or are hindered by contracts with the crew from proactively asking for photos with the artist, resulting in no formal group photos after a collaboration.

Zhou Yun proactively hugged, took photos with each member of the staff.

She said, ”I hope I can work with you all again in the future.”

Many staff members were pleasantly surprised.

Finally, Zhou Yun met with Xu Jinbo.

Xu Jinbo said, ”Xiao Yun, thank you.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”No need to be so formal between us, right?”

Xu Jinbo said, ”I’m serious. Without you, this drama couldn’t have been filmed.”

”Next time if there’s a good script but no good actors, so the platform doesn’t give you the green light, reach out to me,” Zhou Yun said. ”Though I may not be able to act in every piece, I have lots of actor friends. If they’re suitable, I’ll recommend them.”

Zhou Yun’s meaning is, of course, actors whom Yuehai is willing to give the green light to.

A group of actor friends like that really has gathered around Zhou Yun.
