Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 955: Chapter 583: Imperially Granted Constable_2

He was exuberant, without many prejudices or shyness in his personality. He would do whatever he wanted, described in one word: simple.

No hidden secrets or hesitations about expressing things.

”Xiao Yun, Xiao Yun, how about running lines together?”

He would often come like this, openly, holding a script, and after running lines with Zhou Yun, he would ask, ”Did I not perform well just now? I feel like I’m not keeping up, just reading the script.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”You have to look into my eyes when you speak.”

The next time, Xin Zhike performed while looking into Zhou Yun’s eyes, but broke into laughter halfway through.

”Oh no, I can’t hold it in; I’m bursting out laughing.”

Zhou Yun was helpless, too.

But to be fair, Zhou Yun really liked Xin Zhike’s personality because it’s comfortable to interact with someone like that.

Xin Zhike was like a treasure in the crew; during waiting times, he would take out the small speaker he brought and play his favorite songs, even pulling a group of people to dance when he got excited.

The first time Zhou Yun saw this, he was bewildered, but later he got used to it and joined in.

Yuk Chu commented on Xin Zhike, ”Xin Zhike is so interesting, talking with him is really relaxing, feels like nothing is a big deal to him, everything is simple and happy.”

Zhou Yun also found that almost every time he saw him, he was smiling.

One day, in the morning, there was a problem with the original scene, requiring on-site adjustments, meaning the actors already informed to come would have to wait for at least several dozen minutes.

A few people were getting impatient waiting, and suddenly Xin Zhike started a game session, gathering everyone to play Werewolf.

Zhou Yun had been in many crews, but had only seen someone like Xin Zhike who could bring up the atmosphere and get everyone to play together.

”Rare to hear you praise someone like this, Xiao Yun. What’s the story behind this Xin Zhike that makes you praise him so?” Zhou Lan was surprised to hear Zhou Yun lavish praise on Xin Zhike when she visited the crew to see Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun, eating the duck neck Zhou Lan brought over, said, ”I’m really not exaggerating; if you meet this person, you’d definitely like him too.”

Zhou Lan said, ”Maybe I’ll see through to his essence in one glance and realize it’s all his disguise.”

”Even if it’s a disguise, it’s okay. If someone can disguise to the point of making everyone happy, I don’t mind his disguise one bit,” Zhou Yun threw the cleanly gnawed bone into the trash and took a wet wipe to clean his mouth. ”Sister Lan, don’t you think so?”

Zhou Lan said, ”What you said isn’t wrong.”

Zhou Yun laughed, ”By the way, Sister Lan, how is Director Kang Xin’s preparation for the drama ’Chen Yin’? Can it start filming on time?”

”Yes, it absolutely can.” Zhou Lan nodded, ”Director Kang’s producer asked me if our side could enter the crew on time the other day; they’ve already prepared everything for the start, and they didn’t prepare any backup actors. Director Kang didn’t let them prepare; now they’re particularly worried that there might be hiccups in our drama, requiring delays in filming, which would be a disaster for them.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Won’t we wrap up on my side in November? ’Chen Yin’ starts in December, there’s already a gap in between, and according to our previous plan, we’ll go to the United States for a few PR activities for ’Behind the Scenes’ in the meantime.”

”Yes, they’re just worried about this; I told them that we would definitely prioritize filming ’Chen Yin,’ but you might not know that ’Behind the Scenes’ got quite a few nominations in the early awards in the United States, gaining more and more buzz. They worry we might focus on that instead.”

”They’re being ridiculous; don’t they have any trust in me?” Zhou Yun pursed his lips, ”Tell them to rest assured for sure, even if there’s hope of me winning the Best Actress Oscar this year, I’ll definitely prioritize filming ’Chen Yin.’ It’s all signed contracts, we have to uphold the spirit of agreements, right? Plus, considering my relationship with Director Kang Xin, how could I stand him up?”

Zhou Lan sighed with a smile, ”You can’t blame them for overthinking. It’s common nowadays for many people to give no availability near filming time, forcing the crew to hurriedly find someone else as a replacement. In the interim, a casual delay easily costs millions.”
