Chapter 963: Chapter 585: Livestreaming the Rich Girl (Part 3)

”You’re really amazing,” Xin Zhike shook his head in amazement, ”I just can’t do it. If I read a book, I’ll want to sleep.”

”There’s no need to force yourself to read all the time,” Zhou Yun said, ”Although reading is a good thing, if you really can’t force yourself, then don’t. It’s not like when we were in school taking exams where we had to score high to get into a good university. Leisure activities, whether it’s reading or movie watching, are really just to satisfy one’s mental needs, and different people have different needs.”

Xin Zhike said wide-eyed, ”I thought you would tell me how to read a book so that I could actually digest it.”

”Oh, there’s no need for that.” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”If one day you really start reading, you’ll be able to digest it without anyone telling you. It’s my habit; sometimes when I see a book that interests me, I’ll buy it and place it on the bedside table. I might not read it immediately, but I can’t put it on the bookshelf because it would almost never be taken down and I’d forget about it. But if it’s on the bedside table, sometimes when you can’t fall asleep at night, you can read a bit without any burden, and who knows, you might just get into it.”

Xin Zhike: ”Oh, I see.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

.

In the livestream comments, a bunch of people were commenting ”Learning from the master.”

Xin Zhike asked, ”Were you a top student in college?”

”Not really, a lot of my classmates were really impressive,” Zhou Yun said, ”Basically, as long as they weren’t in classes or sleeping, they’d be in the library or lab. I wasn’t that diligent.”

Xin Zhike looked a bit envious, ”I used to imagine what kind of life I’d have if I got good grades and went to college.”

”Didn’t you go to college?”

Xin Zhike shook his head and said, ”I started working right after high school.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.

Just then, Zhou Yun suddenly saw someone frantically waving ahead.

It was Xin Zhike’s assistant.

His assistant looked panic-stricken, seemingly reminding Xin Zhike he had misspoken.

Xin Zhike hadn’t noticed and was looking at the livestream comments.

Zhou Yun gently patted Xin Zhike on the back.

Only then did Xin Zhike notice his assistant’s gesture.

”Ah...” Xin Zhike showed an embarrassed expression, ”Let it slip.”

Zhou Yun noticed everyone around seemed speechless.

Zhou Yun realized that maybe Xin Zhike never publicly shared the fact he didn’t go to college?

She chuckled and said, ”I too worked after high school, at a milk tea shop for two months.”

Xin Zhike looked surprised and asked, ”You worked even after getting into A university?”

”During summer break.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”Originally had nothing to do, weren’t you the same?”

Only then did Xin Zhike realize Zhou Yun was trying to help him cover his slip.

”Ah, yes, right,” Xin Zhike nodded, ”But why did you work? Didn’t most people go traveling or something?”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”I was saving up for college living expenses. Didn’t want to burden my family.”

Xin Zhike was deeply surprised.

”Ah?”

Zhou Yun said, ”My family was already under a lot of pressure to pay for my tuition.”

Xin Zhike hadn’t expected Zhou Yun’s family situation to be so ordinary.

”I thought your family would be quite wealthy.”

”No,” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”Of course, I wouldn’t say I lived terribly, my family was just average. It was mainly because going to another city to study required spending in many areas, so I didn’t want to add that much burden to them.”

”You’re amazing.”

”Aren’t you the same? Why praise me.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”Actually, many young students are like this now. When I was in school, many stores near the campus had students working part-time, which was great. I always felt these experiences prevented me from becoming lazy in the comfort of university.”

Xin Zhike nodded.

...

Zhou Lan only went for a shower. When she finished showering and heard the phone ring as she came out of the bathroom, she got a bad feeling at heart.

A call this late should not be about anything good.

When she saw the caller was the person responsible for online public opinion and PR in the team, the premonition worsened.

Who was in trouble?

Zhou Lan answered, and amidst the fast-talking, she heard Zhou Yun’s name.

Zhou Lan’s heart sank.

”Working?”

Zhou Lan asked in surprise, ”You mean Zhou Yun went on Xin Zhike’s live stream tonight and revealed her family’s not wealthy and she worked for living expenses?”

”How is this a public opinion issue?” As soon as Zhou Lan heard this, she immediately let out a sigh of relief, ”A lot of people think Zhou Yun’s usual image doesn’t match her family background? Come on, when did we ever market Zhou Yun as a rich and beautiful persona?”
