Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 982: Chapter 590: Proud as Spring Winds (Part 2)

Su Yan snorted coldly, ”Another ’Behind the Scenes’! How does she have such good luck? Why can she succeed with any movie she casually acts in?!”

He Ting heard the unwillingness in Su Yan’s voice.

But what can unwillingness achieve?

Jealousy, dissatisfaction, anger, resentment, these emotions can only destroy your will and your heart like poison; if you let them spread, your heart will eventually become a desolate field.

He Ting advised, ”Zhou Yun won two awards this year, and it’s not surprising that Mélando’s new film cast her. You don’t need to be so upset.”

”I don’t need to be so upset? Then tell me, which drama can I succeed in next? Can I reach the heights of ’Heart Inquiry’? Su Yan asked, ”You say I’m not cut out for movies, not to contend with Zhou Yun in the film domain. What about television now? The TV drama I did with Xu Siyao is stuck in review, and who knows when it will pass? What good work do I have next? Zhou Yun just wrapped up ’Deep Sea’ and is about to join the group to shoot Director Kang Xin’s ’Chen Yin’. Why didn’t we manage to secure Director Kang Xin’s new drama?”

Su Yan’s questioning forced its way in front of He Ting.

He Ting was also fuming inside.

She thought, what’s the use of Su Yan telling her all this? Why didn’t they manage to secure Director Kang Xin’s new drama?

From the start, Director Kang Xin never intended to have Su Yan act in this drama, so who’s to blame?

Back then, Su Yan offended Kang Xin by acting like a diva in the ’Heart Inquiry’ crew. Why would Kang Xin willingly cooperate with her again?

He Ting’s eyes turned, saying, ”Su Yan, let’s put other things aside for the moment, but regarding Director Kang Xin, I do need to tell you something.”

”What is it?” Su Yan was in a bad mood, and her tone was sharp.

He Ting said, ”Have you ever thought about why Director Kang Xin’s new drama didn’t approach you? Didn’t even ask.”

Annoyed, Su Yan said, ”Wasn’t it intercepted by Zhou Yun, that woman! She must have gone directly to Director Kang Xin and said something, so he gave her the role.”

He Ting: ”Whether or not Zhou Yun approached Director Kang Xin, Su Yan, at least he’s willing to cooperate with her a second time. I’ve always kept in touch and communicated with Director Kang Xin, asking if there are any roles suitable for you in his upcoming works. Though he never outright rejected me, he never indicated wanting to work with you again. I didn’t want you to know about this before, but now I think you should be aware of this. Despite mentioning several times that I wanted you to act in his dramas, he never relented. The key point is that during the collaboration on ’Heart Inquiry’, you weren’t as obedient as Zhou Yun.”

”What?” Su Yan looked shocked, not expecting He Ting to suddenly start criticizing her. She glanced at He Ting, bewildered—before, when she was angry, He Ting would always say nice things to soothe her, ”I’m not as obedient as Zhou Yun? What do you mean?”

He Ting said, ”Why do you think so many directors like Zhou Yun? There are many actors with good acting skills and many popular actors too, but why does she always seem to be favored by directors no matter who she works with? Because in front of directors, Zhou Yun never acts like a celebrity; she never shows any attitude, behaving like an obedient student in front of a teacher—not only obedient, but also admires them.”

Su Yan appeared deep in thought.

He Ting continued, ”Even if we don’t like Zhou Yun, we must admit that if we don’t change, especially if you don’t change, between you and Zhou Yun, directors will always prefer to work with her.”

Su Yan bit her lip.

He Ting’s words were like an arrow shot straight into her heart.

She knew these things before, it was just knowledge that she deceived herself with.

Su Yan never truly respected those people, those directors. How many of them are worth respecting?

Even Kang Xin, didn’t he still need her and Song Chi to pull off ’Heart Inquiry’?

Everyone is just a cog in this flashy world of showbiz; supposed talent only makes some people’s stance look more graceful.

Su Yan had always thought this way.

If it weren’t for winning awards to elevate her status and gain recognition from others, she wouldn’t care about winning them.
