Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 996: Chapter 592: Banquet (Part 2)

Of course, it wasn’t that no one was taking pictures of her.

Her films ”Life” and ”Behind the Scenes” did reasonably well in the United States, giving her some recognition and a few photographers were indeed capturing her image.

Zhou Yun carefully posed for those cameras, trying several postures, before smiling and waving her hand as she headed inside.

Zhou Lan was waiting for her inside.

As soon as Zhou Yun joined Zhou Lan, she encountered Shi Luoqi.

It had been a while since she last saw Shi Luoqi. Zhou Yun noticed that Shi Luoqi seemed more beautiful than before, radiating and energetic.

Shi Luoqi opened her arms and gave Zhou Yun a warm hug.

”Finally seeing you,” Shi Luoqi said, ”Xiao Yun, you wouldn’t believe how many people have told me they want to meet you.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Sorry, Sister Luo Qi, I just finished shooting ’Deep Sea’.”

”Ah, I know you’re busy, can’t be helped,” Shi Luoqi said, ”But now that you’re here, participate in more events during this period so everyone can get to know you.”

Zhou Yun agreed.

While Shi Luoqi was speaking, a man’s voice abruptly interrupted from the side.

”Hey, Shi, is this beautiful and charming lady your leading actress?”

Zhou Yun and Shi Luoqi turned to look at the speaker simultaneously.

This man seemed to be in his early sixties, dressed in formal attire, but his physique was rather robust, making his clothes appear snug.

He had a dense circle of whiskers on his face—a feature particularly common among Europeans and Americans.

Aside from that, he had a pair of bright blue eyes.

Seeing him, Shi Luoqi flashed a delighted smile.

”Oh, Smith, you came tonight too!” Shi Luoqi warmly exchanged cheek kisses with him, then introduced him to Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, this is Mr. Smith from Vincent Media.”

Zhou Yun hadn’t heard of Mr. Smith before, but she had heard rumors about Vincent Media.

Vincent Media is one of the world’s top media companies, controlling numerous outlets and wielding significant influence.

Yet, she wasn’t aware of Mr. Smith’s exact position at Vincent Media.

Judging from Shi Luoqi’s attitude, he likely held a high position.

For public figures like Zhou Yun, it’s crucial to maintain good relations with media conglomerates.

Media groups exert immense power, whether in everyday PR or during crucial moments’ public opinion.

Zhou Yun gave Mr. Smith a light hug.

Smith wrapped his left hand around her waist, and with a close gesture, whispered ”Sweat” by her ear.

Zhou Yun paused for a moment.

Smith let her go and said, ”I’m a fan of yours, you were beautiful in ’Behind the Scenes’, vivid and wild.”

Hearing the adjectives Smith used, Zhou Yun was momentarily at a loss for words.

Because those two words were indeed difficult to respond to.

”Thank you,” was all she could manage in gratitude eventually.

Shi Luoqi enthusiastically explained to Zhou Yun, ”Mr. Smith has mentioned several times wanting to meet you. He provided significant support for our ’Behind the Scenes’, even recommending it on the front page of two of their websites.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m honored that you like the film.”

Smith smiled amicably.

”When I was in college, I dated a Chinese girl, probably because of this, I’ve always had a fondness for Chinese girls,” Smith said, like he was joking, ”I’ve always thought Chinese girls are as exquisite as porcelain dolls, especially after seeing you today, even more so.”

Smith’s words made Zhou Yun a bit uncomfortable.

Nonetheless, Shi Luoqi’s attitude prompted Zhou Yun to maintain her composure and carry on the conversation.

Her key task in the United States was to partake in the Oscar PR campaign for ”Behind the Scenes”.

PR involves promoting the film to Hollywood’s influential and vocal figures during similar evening events, while also generating media buzz, ensuring the film gets substantial attention and isn’t overlooked majority of the time.

While introducing Smith, Shi Luoqi specifically pointed out that he was from Vincent Media, highlighting his significant influence in media dissemination.

Shi Luoqi orchestrated to have Xue Qin join them for a group photo of the four together.

Smith said, ”Shi, you are truly an incredible producer, unearthing two such talented young individuals.”
