Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 980: Chapter 589: Blockbuster_5

Seeing these people appear in the same film once again, Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.

She originally thought that after the previous incidents, Liu Zhikun would have already fallen out with He Xuran.

Yet they could still cooperate.

After all, it’s a world-class commercial masterpiece; who would be willing to give up this opportunity?

Apart from these young actors, there are rumors that two big stars will cameo in this movie.

But currently, the big stars haven’t been revealed as to who they are.

Zhou Yun wasn’t curious about who they were.

Zhou Yun thought, this cast is worthy of the name of a Hollywood big production.

Just that...

She suddenly had a mischievous thought.

Yao Yuanfeng might be overjoyed seeing this list.

After all, even in Hollywood’s big production ”Chinese Warrior,” the cast isn’t more splendid than ”Four Killers.”

Zhou Yun felt that, based on her understanding of Yao Yuanfeng, he would definitely take this point to heart.

Yao Yuanfeng wouldn’t miss such an opportunity to promote ”Four Killers.”

Zhou Yun even thought, would Yao Yuanfeng ride on the coattails of ”Chinese Warrior” and let ”Four Killers” release after ”Chinese Warrior?”

This thought just appeared in Zhou Yun’s mind and was immediately denied by herself.

It would probably take two years for ”Chinese Warrior” to be released, so ”Four Killers” can’t be held back forever.

Otherwise, this film couldn’t generate revenue for New Shield, which would impact New Shield’s cash flow.

Zhou Lan sent another message: I’m a bit hesitant right now.

Zhou Yun: ?

Zhou Lan said: Paimon is actually willing to give Xiao Jing a role, but this role doesn’t have much screen time, probably less than five minutes. On one hand, I want Xiao Jing to participate in such an international production, but on the other hand, with Xiao Jing’s current momentum, playing a small role might not be fair to her. Of course, the main concern isn’t fairness; I’m afraid if Xiao Jing takes such a small role, others might look down on her.

Zhou Yun understood Zhou Lan’s intention.

Sometimes, why do artists compete for lead roles?

Unless you can reach an unattainable lead like Zhou Yun, otherwise just like He Xuran and Liu Zhikun, with similar status, a front lead indicates that you are more formidable.

If Wang Jing only plays a minor role, it indicates that in the eyes of these big Hollywood companies, Wang Jing doesn’t hold as much value as, say, persons like He Wenyun.

Of course, outwardly, you could say it’s mainly because Wang Jing isn’t suitable for those roles.

But these are just appeasing words that don’t mean much to those who study numbers every day.

They look at your box office, your various data indicators, all sorts of quantifiable things.

Zhou Yun thought for a while and said: Given Xiao Jing’s current situation, playing a minor role in ”Chinese Warrior” won’t affect her much, but this movie has long been rumored to have me in the lead, even though we all know that’s not the case, people will still gossip about it later, which might affect how others perceive her.

Zhou Lan: Yes, that’s true.

Zhou Yun said: I actually think taking such a minor role doesn’t help Xiao Jing that much. If she were an unknown newcomer, this would be a good opportunity, but Xiao Jing isn’t a newcomer anymore; she’s already getting lead roles offered to her.

Zhou Lan: I feel the same way.

Zhou Yun: Let’s forget it then.

Zhou Lan: That’s the only way. Oh, by the way, Huang Zicheng was selected and given a role.

Zhou Yun: That’s nice; getting to participate in such a big production can help him in starting his career.

Zhou Lan: Yes, I think so too.

Zhou Yun: Remember to keep an eye on Lu Zhongting’s side, and if there’s a real gap, console him.

Zhou Lan: Of course, I will.

After the official cast announcement of ”Chinese Warrior”, it caught everyone’s attention online.

After all, it’s an authentic commercial blockbuster produced by a major Hollywood film company.

A cast entirely of Chinese actors.

Many people even questioned: Wasn’t it said earlier that Zhou Yun has a great international influence? That she was very famous in the United States, so why isn’t she starring in ”Chinese Warrior”?

Some even mocked: Bought so many advertorials previously claiming she was going to lead this film, now the lie has been exposed, and it’s become a joke.

Yin Linglin’s fans were delighted as their idol had secured the second female lead role in ”Chinese Warrior.” In their eyes, it seemed that Yin Linglin’s rise to international stardom was just around the corner!

Last time when Yin Linglin collaborated with Zhou Yun in ”Four Killers,” many directly commented that Yin Linglin wasn’t in the same league as Zhou Yun, which infuriated her fans.

This time, so many online mocking Zhou Yun made Yin Linglin’s fans happy to see it happen.

Yin Linglin messaged in the ”Four Killers” main cast group chat, saying: Xiao Yun, wasn’t it said online that you were the lead? How come your name is not there in the end? I thought we could collaborate again!

He Xuran: +1.

Liu Zhikun was silent.

Zhou Yun saw the message and smiled slightly, saying: No schedule, and they didn’t invite me.

Yin Linglin: Huh? They didn’t invite you? How’s that possible!

Zhou Yun didn’t reply anymore.

Words were useless.

On the internet, there were quite a few haters of Zhou Yun.

Her rise was too fast, and besides the haters and internet trolls bought by competitors, there were indeed a small number of netizens who truly couldn’t stand Zhou Yun.

Because they felt Zhou Yun was too lucky and her rise was too rapid.

Zhou Lan controlled the public opinion to prevent it from getting too big while also communicating with Mélando, and eventually decided to seize the opportunity as ”Chinese Warrior” was popular now, to promote themselves a little.

As a result, the ”Hollywood Report” released a message the next day.

Mélando teams up with China’s top actress Zhou Yun to develop the suspense action blockbuster ”Killing Song.”
