Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 983: Chapter 590: Riding High on the Spring Breeze (Part 3)

If given the choice between being famous for a lifetime without respect and recognition or not being famous but winning many awards, Su Yan would choose the former without hesitation.

Choosing the latter would merely be a step toward better achieving the former.

Such is the situation.

Su Yan understood what Sister Ting meant and knew that her words were for her benefit, but Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride or lower her head.

If she’s already reached this point and still has to act humbly in front of those directors, wouldn’t the past years have been for nothing?

She is now a top celebrity, and a leading actress, even if she doesn’t collaborate with Director Kang Xin, plenty of producers are offering loads of money to cast her in their films.

Su Yan quickly compared in her heart and made a choice.

She simply didn’t believe that without collaborating with Director Kang Xin, there couldn’t be another work that could rival ”Heart Inquiry.”

She didn’t believe it.

”Sister Ting, among the films that have approached me, isn’t there any with a decent script?” Su Yan asked, ”Since Zhou Yun can switch to acting in life suspense dramas, so can I.”

He Ting realized her earlier persuasion had failed.

Su Yan didn’t truly understand the meaning behind her words.

He Ting wasn’t particularly surprised, as Su Yan making such a choice was indeed not unexpected.

...

”Truly impressive.” Yin Zhou put down his phone and said to Gu Huaichun, who was sitting opposite him, ”When we acted together in ’Eighth Heartbeat’ with Zhou Yun, who would’ve thought she’d achieve such high accomplishments so quickly. Back then, we merely thought she was a very earnest, hardworking young actress like us, deeply invested in her roles. It’s really unexpected, so impressive.”

Gu Huaichun shook his head, returning to the main topic.

”Have you really made up your mind?” He looked intently into Yin Zhou’s eyes and asked.

Yin Zhou nodded, saying, ”I’ve really decided, and I’ve discussed it with the company. They agreed too.”

Gu Huaichun asked, ”When will you be back?”

”I don’t know.” Yin Zhou shook his head, smiling slightly, feeling a bit disinterested. He said, ”Old Gu, no need for more words. You should continue to work hard. I will still follow the shows you act in; you love acting and are willing to delve into the craft. Don’t truly give it up.”

Gu Huaichun silently looked at Yin Zhou, hesitating for a moment, then said, ”I thought we would at least walk this path together.”

”I’m not saying I’ll never come back; it’s just a temporary pause.” Yin Zhou said, ”You just keep moving forward confidently. I’ll catch up with you later.”

His face lit up with a bright smile.

Gu Huaichun couldn’t help it anymore and lowered his head with a smile.

Yin Zhou nodded, saying, ”That’s more like it. Smile more often. Stop looking like everyone owes you money.”

Gu Huaichun said, ”I originally thought, having acted with Zhou Yun in ’Falling Leaves,’ you could break into the film industry and take roles in movies that I can’t.”

”There will be opportunities in the future.” Yin Zhou said, ”The company counts on you to make money now and won’t let you act in such films, but it’s okay. Stop always going against the company. You’ll find opportunities in the future.”

”No need to worry about my matters. When you come back, if you need any help, just ask.”

”Of course.”

”I’m afraid you only say of course with your lips.”

Yin Zhou laughed.

The two of them had been sitting at the store for quite a while, and people started to turn their heads, frequently scrutinizing the semi-camouflaged pair, as if they recognized something familiar about them, trying to guess who they were.

Yin Zhou said, ”Let’s settle the bill. I see someone is about to recognize you.”

Gu Huaichun nodded and got up to pay.

...

”In terms of film themes, I’m still more looking forward to ’Killing Song’.” An invited guest said in a video review program on Chestnut Video, ”Actually, ’Chinese Warrior’ is just another rehash of a superhero genre. Everyone knows that Paimon has been developing their superhero films over the past few years, and while their box office numbers are impressive, the storylines show little variation, with nothing innovative. The only relatively novel aspect is their decision to feature a female lead character this time, a female hero. However, ’Killing Song,’ just by its name, sounds like an action or suspense film, but the official information suggests it’s also a high-budget production. What’s particularly significant is that this film isn’t set in our China, meaning that the character Zhou Yun portrays exists in an entirely English-speaking world, which marks a substantial difference from ’Chinese Warrior’ itself.”
