My Alleged Husband

Chapter 280: Chapter 260: Meeting without Recognizing_1

”Yichen, Grandpa doesn’t understand. If you truly love your dad and mom, why would you drive them out of the house? Isn’t that also a kind of harm to you? Instead of letting each other get hurt, wouldn’t it be better to have them come back here and keep you company?”

”Grandpa, you believe that you know why I made such a decision. Over the years, you must have seen how many times I’ve cleaned up their messes without ever complaining. I never mentioned it because I knew that no matter what I did, I couldn’t escape your watchful eye. You have always been paying attention to my every move, and to that of my parents as well. But do you know? After cleaning up mess after mess for over a decade, I’ve come to realize that no matter how I smooth over all their mistakes, they will never think it was the sacrifice of their son. They just feel that they can get what they want from me, never considering my own happiness for a moment. Grandpa, after more than ten years, I’m tired of cleaning up their messes. I don’t want to let them affect my life anymore. For years, I’ve been climbing up the ladder recklessly, just to make my family’s life better, but what was the end result? What did it bring me? To be repeatedly hurt the worst? Grandpa, you understand too that what I’m doing isn’t just for myself. If they continue recklessly making these mistakes, they will definitely end up in prison under legal penalty, a day which I believe you wouldn’t want to see either. Maybe by driving them out now, they will realize that not everything can be done according to their whims, and that they should never think about breaking the law at any time, because the law is strict and unsparingly harsh, just as I am unsparing in driving them out today...”

”Child, I don’t know whether what you’re doing is right or wrong. Maybe your parents won’t understand your actions, but your grandpa still supports you!”

”Grandpa, even if the whole world doesn’t understand me, even if everyone misunderstands me, and even if by doing this, I won’t receive anyone’s sympathy, as long as you understand my intentions, that’s enough for me. I don’t need the whole world to acknowledge my actions; your recognition alone is all I need to be content because your approval is the approval of the entire world to me. Without your support, I could never have become an economic emperor. Grandpa, thank you for all the years of unfailing kindness, for always showering all of your love on me. Thank you for your guidance. Without your whole-hearted teachings, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have today, nor would I have established my empire. Everything I have today is all thanks to you; it’s all yours. Grandpa, while you only have me, I’ve got the whole world. In this way, it’s as though you have the whole world, too. Grandpa, you should always feel happy, so don’t be looking so worried every day. I don’t like to see you with a worried face. I love seeing a smiling grandpa because a smiling grandpa seems so kind and approachable!”

”Child, you’ve truly grown up. Your grandpa is proud of you. Having a grandson like you, I could die with no regrets. Remember Grandpa’s words: always keep your parents in your heart. No matter what mistakes they make, they will always be your parents. Because of them, there is you. They gave life to you, and without them, Grandpa wouldn’t have been able to raise you to be the person you are today. Remember every word Grandpa said, and I also hope you can fulfill Grandpa’s wishes.”

”Grandpa, I remember. I’ve taken to heart every word you said. No matter when, I will never forget your teachings. For the next few days, you’ll have to manage on your own at home. I have a business deal to discuss in the United States, and I need to make a business trip there. Take good care of yourself at home and don’t miss me too much!” Zhang Yichen said to Old Master Zhang with a cheerful smile. He was reluctant to leave his grandfather. No matter what, he always hoped to have his grandfather by his side, even if he went to the ends of the earth; he still wished he could see him just by turning around.

Hearing his grandson say his reluctant goodbyes, Old Master Zhang couldn’t hold back the tears in his eyes. Although his grandson always left to discuss business abroad, why did he feel so unwilling to let go this time? Was it because he had just experienced a life-or-death farewell?

”Okay, then you go. Make sure to be safe on the road, and once you arrive, give me a call to let me know you’re safe. Don’t keep your grandpa worrying!”

Zhang Yichen nodded, said nothing else, and directly walked out of the Zhang family’s gate. He had already booked his plane ticket; time was of the essence, and in two hours the plane would take off. He needed to hurry to the airport.

When he had just arrived at his destination and disembarked the plane, he encountered the beloved he had been eagerly waiting for so long at the airport in the United States.

Though the two of them were clearly a couple deeply in love, they met at the airport without recognizing each other and simply brushed past one another. He felt his heart beating wildly inside, his intuition telling him that this person must be very important in his life, yet he didn’t know what to call the girl. Her silhouette seemed so familiar to him, like the one that often appeared in his dreams.

Ran Zhihan saw Zhang Yichen, and she thought this man’s silhouette seemed unusually like the shadow she often dreamed of. She wanted to reach out and catch him, but in her dreams, no matter how she tried, she could never grasp him. Every time she extended her hand towards this man, the dream would suddenly shatter, and she would awaken.

”Have we met somewhere before?” Ran Zhihan eventually just couldn’t help but speak up and ask Zhang Yichen.

Zhang Yichen had similar doubts in his heart. He replied to Ran Zhihan, ”Really? Do you also have such confusion? When I saw you just now, I felt the same way. I always feel like we’ve met before, but I just can’t remember where we might have met. Do you know where we’ve met before? Or perhaps we were very good friends!”

”I’m really sorry, I also can’t recall where we might have met. I just feel you’re very familiar, you look just like a silhouette I’ve dreamed of. I have to admit I suffered a serious injury before, and when I woke up, I had forgotten many important things, so I really don’t know if we know each other!” Ran Zhihan said to Zhang Yichen with a smile.

”It turns out we’re so fated, I have amnesia too, and there are many things I don’t remember. I came to the United States today to discuss business, I don’t know if you’re at the airport planning a trip abroad for fun?”

”I’ve been studying in the United States, and now that my studies are nearly over, I plan to return home to see my parents and then continue back to the United States for further education. After all, to enter high society, one must have high qualifications, right?”

The two of them chatted idly here for a little over an hour before they reluctantly parted ways, and even with their memories lost, they were still love at first sight for each other.
