My Alleged Husband

Chapter 274: Chapter 254: Coming to Find Me_1

Ran Zhihan was discharged from the hospital, and somehow Xia Jing found out that Ran Zhihan was at Li Jiayuan’s house. She rushed over in a frenzy, and upon entering, she immediately saw Xiao Wei sitting on the sofa.

”Xiao Wei, long time no see, I don’t know how you’ve been doing recently. What suddenly brought you to the United States?” Xia Jing asked.

”Sister, my home and my company are in the United States. I simply went out to negotiate a few business deals. Can’t I come back home?” Xiao Wei said with a tone of displeasure.

Xia Tian couldn’t understand why Xiao Wei was so angry with her the moment they met.

”Xiao Wei, what’s wrong? Where did I go wrong? Or what did I do to upset you? Why do you have such an attitude towards me as soon as we meet?”

”Sister, you know that in my heart, you’ve always been my dearest sister. Even though we are not full siblings, I still treat you as my own sister. I want to ask you something, even though I haven’t been in the United States these days, I am aware of some things that have happened. Are those things really done by you? Everyone says you did it by yourself, but I don’t believe it because I trust you’re not that kind of person. I believe you have a kind heart. I want to ask you face to face now, is it true, like everyone says, that you did those things by yourself?”

”Yes, I did those things, and it’s my family affair. You have no right to meddle in my affairs. You should take better care of your three sons instead, and keep them from getting too close to my future daughter-in-law...”

Xiao Wei smiled and turned to Xia Jing, ”Sister, I don’t quite understand what you mean by that. I just want to offer you a piece of advice. Sister, it’s important to leave some room for kindness in life. Even if you don’t respect the monk, you should at least respect the Buddha. By hurting her like this, do you think that she will still want to be with your son in the future? I’m actually aware of everything you’ve done; I just didn’t want to interfere in your family matters as an outsider. Many times I knew that these things were done by you alone, but I chose to disbelieve their words because I believe that my sister is innocent. I can’t tarnish your reputation based on one-sided stories from others. Likewise, I can’t tolerate anyone casually insulting your reputation. But what I didn’t expect was my most trusted sister would admit openly that those things were indeed done by you. I really want to ask you, how could you bring yourself to do it?”

Xia Jing sat down on the sofa; she hadn’t expected to face this kind of situation upon meeting Xiao Wei.

”I never expected that our meeting would happen under these circumstances. Listen to me, I didn’t want these things to happen. I just wanted to know why she was so beloved by so many. Don’t you know that I actually wished she could become my daughter-in-law? I have to admit that she is indeed a very outstanding girl, and I know that she’s a very kind-hearted person. But being kind-hearted can’t help my son build a business empire. She is ultimately a commoner’s daughter, the daughter of ordinary people. Even if she steps into high society one day, she can’t shake off her identity as a commoner’s daughter. You know as well as I do that in this cruel society, if she is just a daughter of ordinary people, even if she becomes wealthy in the future, she can’t become a true rich person, nor can she stand firm in high society. Do you really have the heart to see your most beloved nephew ruin his career over a woman?”

”Sister, to be honest, I also can’t bear to see my own most beloved nephew ruin his career over a woman. But do you know? It’s not that he doesn’t understand the importance; it’s just that he values his woman more than his career. In his eyes, nothing is more important than his wife. Isn’t this the same as my brother-in-law? Didn’t he defy his father just to be with you? Many times, things aren’t as complicated as you imagine. If you can look at it from a different angle, then the outcome will be different. You’re overthinking every situation, believing that everyone values your son’s money and that’s why they’re with him. But you never considered why someone would choose to be with him. If your son didn’t have money, would that person still be willing to be with him? As far as I know, this girl is a very kind one. She isn’t with your son for his money, she’s with him because she truly loves him. You know, every member of the Zhang Family is sentimental. They can give up everything they could have for love. My brother-in-law gave up his father, his rightful place in his family’s company, and his homeland for you. Now his son has grown up, and like his father, he could give up his company, his business empire, and his potentially happy family for the woman he loves. Isn’t this the same principle? Is it only allowed for my brother-in-law to love you irrationally, but not for your son to love another woman without any rhyme or reason? In many cases, you all need to put yourselves in each other’s shoes instead of overcomplicating things. Honestly, as an outsider, I shouldn’t meddle in this, let alone intervene in your domestic affairs. But I can’t bear to watch my nephew get hurt over and over again because of the relationship between you two. I know what a terrible thing you’ve done this time. Don’t you know, whether in China or the United States, murder is punishable by law? That cliff is so high, how could you bring yourself to push her down? Even if you hated her to the bone, you shouldn’t have killed her with your own hands. Now your son has lost his memory, and perhaps he will never remember who he really is. His heart will always feel the emptiness from that girl’s disappearance. He won’t understand what he truly wants. He will no longer manage his company and will only think about how to find the woman from his dreams.”

”Xiao Wei, the truths you speak of are not unknown to me, but I have already embarked on a path of no return; there is no reasoning for me to turn back, do you understand? When I saw my son abandon his company for a woman, neglecting everything; when I saw him shut out his own parents for a woman; when I saw him become disheveled for a woman; it was then that I knew this woman would only bring misfortune to my son, and not any benefit!”

”Sister, do you really believe that profits are more important than feelings? We’ve both been through the trials and tribulations of love, so why can’t you empathize with your son’s deep love for that woman? Now, you’ve caused your son to lose his memory, and the woman, due to your fault, is missing and her life or death is unknown. Everyone is searching for them. Perhaps in your heart, you also think that her disappearance is a great benefit to your son. But you didn’t consider that her absence will only make your son more negative. A person whose heart is empty in the important parts will never be happy, no matter what. I won’t ask you what you’re doing here today. Your arrival has made it clear to me why. I’ll tell you plainly that the woman is not at my place, and I haven’t found out where she is. If you don’t want your relationship with your son to become strained because of her, then please don’t do such horrendous deeds from now on. Take care on your way out, no need to see you off...”

Xia Jing knew that Xiao Wei was angry and that he was telling the truth. She turned around and left.
