My Alleged Husband

Chapter 279: Chapter 259 Mom Always Loves You_1

”Child, if today you cast out your mother and father from your home, you will certainly come to regret it someday. No matter what your parents have done to you, I believe they are still in your heart; you just don’t know how to interact with them. Their lack of love is not true, it’s that they don’t know how to show it in a way that would bring the best outcome for you!” Old Master Zhang spoke to Zhang Yichen.

Zhang Zhentian quickly spoke to Zhang Yichen, ”Yichen, you are my biological son, how could I possibly not love you? These past years, it’s Dad who has wronged you. Dad owes you over a decade’s worth of fatherly love. Could you give Dad a chance to make it up to you, to make amends for all the years of fatherly love I owe you in one go?”

If Zhang Yichen hadn’t heard Zhang Zhentian say these words, he might have forgiven his father and kept him by his side to live together, but once he heard his father utter these words, he no longer felt the same.

”Since you’ve admitted that over these years, you’ve failed me, failed in your duties as a father, then what right do you have to ask for my forgiveness today? I must admit, I indeed hoped that my parents would be by my side. Just like other children, I wished to receive love from my parents and hoped to see them when I came home. Yet every time I hoped, it was utterly shattered the moment I returned home. Do you know that feeling of loss? Perhaps to you, abandoning me is nothing, but in my eyes, it’s the greatest hurt. I’ve always been told I’m the child my parents didn’t want. Do you have any idea how crushing that sentence is to me? I also hoped for my parents’ company for a lifetime, but what have you brought me? What you gave me since childhood was hurt. Because of your abandonment, I’ve been called the child without parents. Because you abandoned me, I had to force myself to be strong, because only by being strong could I protect Grandpa, protect the people I love. To this day, you still arrogantly think all these mistakes have nothing to do with you, but have you truly reflected on yourselves? What do I really mean to you, in your eyes? Am I your biological son, or a tool for you to use to gain benefits? Both of you know it very well in your hearts, and there’s no need for me to spell it out. Because for you, for me, spelling it out serves no good!”

Upon hearing his son speak in this way, Zhang Zhentian understood that his son knew everything all along, but had chosen to remain silent.

”Child, everything that Mom and Dad did to you, you knew all along, didn’t you?” Zhang Zhentian posed his doubt, wanting to confirm whether his thinking was correct from his son.

”Indeed, over these years, I’ve had a clear understanding of everything you’ve done. I knew all about the places you’ve been, what you’ve done, and who you’ve been with, but I’ve chosen not to speak out. My silence was to save us from further shame. I didn’t want our relationship to deteriorate any further because of your actions. Yet, you’ve never considered my difficult position, believing that your actions were without fault. But you don’t understand the high price I’ve paid to cover up your crimes. Did you really think your repeated actions would go unnoticed by everyone? It’s just that I’ve been suppressing it all. Do you realize the pain and effort behind my actions?”

Zhang Zhentian then realized why, after so many things he did in the United States, why despite repeatedly breaking the law in various countries, he was never incarcerated. It turns out that all along, it was his son who had been sorting things out for him from behind the scenes. All these years, his son had put in so much effort for him. But what about him as a father, what had his own son done? What had he brought to him? He truly didn’t dare to imagine.

”Child, Daddy understands now, I’m sorry, I’ve wronged you over these past few years, but rest assured, for the decades to come, even if I can’t be by your side to watch you grow, to see you start a family, to see your children and grandchildren fill your home, Daddy will always support every decision you make. I will definitely bless you and hope that you can reunite with your beloved girl soon. I believe she must still be waiting for you somewhere in this world. You need to heal properly and must find her. She’s a good girl. If one day you find the girl you love, please convey a message for me, tell her that I’m sorry for hurting her, that I shouldn’t have committed so many outrageous acts that caused her pain. It was my repeated hurtful actions that have led you both to this point today. Please ask her to forgive me, forgive the foolishness of a father’s heart!”

Zhang Zhentian spoke and then left the Zhang Family home directly. He knew that at this stage, whatever he said in the Zhang home was futile. He didn’t wish to do anything more that would make it difficult for his son and his father. For many years, he had known that he failed to fulfill his duties as a father to his son, nor had he done what a son should for his father. His heart was filled with guilt, and he couldn’t face staying in his own home. He felt that even after a hundred years, he wouldn’t be able to face his ancestors below in the netherworld. He had done so much, yet every time it had been his son cleaning up after him, yet he was completely unaware of his son’s struggles. He felt very helpless.

Xia Jing watched her husband leave the Zhang Family home. She wanted to plead with Zhang Yichen not to make her leave the Zhang home too. Xia Jing felt that once she left the Zhang Family, she would have nowhere to go. She only wished to peacefully spend her twilight years in the Zhang home, hoping to enjoy her remaining days with her son’s companionship. But could all her past actions truly earn everyone’s understanding and forgiveness?

”My dear mother, you know my father would not make things difficult for me again; he has already left the Zhang Family doorstep. Don’t you know what you should do now? Do I really need to repeat what I’ve said to you before? If you need, I wouldn’t mind repeating my words to you again.”

Xia Jing couldn’t believe her son could truly be so heartless, to actually drive her out of the house without any remorse. Looking back every three steps, she looked at her father-in-law, towards her son; she was not ready to leave this place, not ready to leave this home, not ready to leave her son. She wanted to stay by her child’s side, but destiny had other plans, as her son was determined to drive her out of the house.

”Child, I know that no matter what I say now, you won’t believe me, but I still hope you can understand that no matter how you treat me, Mom’s love for you will never change...”

Having said that, Xia Jing strode out of the Zhang Family’s main gate, while Zhang Yichen couldn’t help but shed tears!
