My Alleged Husband

Chapter 195: Chapter 176: The Future Mother-in-law is Here! _2

Li Jiayuan was not pleased to hear this. ”Sis, what do you mean by this? Zhihan is my guest, and this is my place. Are you here just to vent your anger? You have a conflict with your son, can you blame others for it? To be honest, I really didn’t want to tell you, but do you know what your son said? He will never forgive you in his lifetime. Your son already hates you to the bone. Do you really want him to hate you even more? As parents, you actually chose to abandon him back then, so don’t come back now telling him this and that. You should realize that the mental shadows of a child aren’t formed in just a day or two; these are shadows of twenty years. Even if you want to erase the shadows in his heart, you can’t just do it with a few words. Now you are treating the girl he loves like this, do you think your son will forgive you? He will only hate you more. Can’t you consider that when you do things?”

”Aunt, I hope you don’t talk about me like this, okay? I didn’t destroy the relationship between you and Yichen. When we met in the valley ten years ago, he had already been abandoned. You know? When I met him then, his hands were injured and bleeding. I felt really uncomfortable when I saw that. I asked him why his parents weren’t by his side? He said his parents had abandoned him. He even asked me, if my parents had abandoned me, would I hate them? I told him I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t exist without my parents. I’ve always been trying to persuade him not to hate you and uncle, but why do you treat me like this? I haven’t done anything wrong between the two of you, I haven’t driven a wedge between you. Why do you think that way? I, Ran Zhihan, am definitely not the kind of person who sows discord!” Ran Zhihan couldn’t help but speak out.

”You dare to talk back? Don’t you know that the younger generation should not interrupt when the elders are speaking? You don’t even have this basic courtesy, how did your parents teach you? With your upbringing, you want to be with my son? I tell you, you’re not worthy, you are a peasant’s daughter, what makes you think you can be with my son? My son is an economic emperor of the world, what qualifications does an ordinary citizen like you have to be with him? Do you think it’s appropriate for you to be together? Education, status, position, do you have anything that matches him? I advise you not to delude yourself here, you better leave him sooner to avoid embarrassment later!” Xia Jing yelled at Ran Zhihan.

Xia Jing saw that Ran Zhihan had been rendered speechless by her words and felt even more triumphant. ”Look at you, wearing such plain and shabby clothing. Do you think you’re worthy of my son? Can’t you see what my son is wearing? Those are custom-made designer clothes, one piece of which could cover your tuition for several years. Do you think you’re worthy of him? Studying abroad in the United States too, relying on my son’s affection for you, do you think you can do whatever you want?”

Lei Jian couldn’t stand to listen anymore and said to Xia Jing: ”Aunt, seeing you, I should call you Aunt, you are my elder, Yichen’s mother, I respect you, but I hope you can also respect Yichen’s wishes all right? Since he has decided to marry this girl, why do you have to interfere? Do you think that by ruining their relationship, Yichen will forgive you? You’re really wrong if you think that. Your son will only hate you more. Aren’t parents supposed to wish for their children’s happiness? Then why don’t you think so? Why do you insist on sabotaging their relationship? Is your child’s relationship really so insignificant to you? When you act, I hope you can also think from your son’s position, consider what he wants. Have you asked him that over the years? Why now, when he’s about to get married, when he has achieved something, do you come back telling him you love him, that you are his parents? Do you think that’s appropriate? Or do you think you don’t deserve to be his parents anymore? I know, as a junior, I shouldn’t be saying these things to you, but I really hope you understand that this has nothing to do with Zhihan. Why do you have to put all the blame on her? Have you ever considered why your son might hate you? You think you abandoned your son to live freely for twenty years, now that your son has achieved something, you can come back and just say ’Son, your parents have always loved you, will you forgive us?’ Do you think such a sentence can easily forgive you for a child who has lost his parents’ love for twenty years? Why should he? He doesn’t owe you anything; on the contrary, you have owed him over these years. And now, when he is finally able to be with the girl he loves, even Yichen’s grandfather has agreed, why must you interfere? Do you really want to make your son hate you even more for the rest of your life? So much that he never lets you step foot into the Zhang Family’s house, would that make you happy?”

”These matters are not your concern, little sister. I hope you can understand something, the life inside wealthy families isn’t as simple as you imagine, and you, a commoner, are not worthy of that lifestyle. I hope you won’t try to turn from a sparrow into a phoenix because that will only leave you covered in wounds. You’d better just continue on your own path. If you’re willing to leave my son, I’ll cover all your expenses from now on. How does that sound?”
