My Alleged Husband

Chapter 172: Chapter 156 Ran Zhihan is Born!_1

Time flew by, and Zhang Yichen was already two years old. Despite his young age, his intelligence far surpassed others; he was growing more handsome by the day, having shed his chubby baby appearance for a more dashing look. Don’t be fooled by his age of two! He had already undergone rigorous training. From the time he was just over a year old, Old Master Zhang had subjected him to grueling coaching sessions, intent on shaping him into a business tycoon who could do anything.

Just two months after Zhang Yichen turned two years old, a baby girl was born into a commoner’s family. Her first cry brought a satisfied smile to the faces of her ordinary parents.

When the girl was born, her mom and dad joyfully carried her out of the hospital, gazing at her tender little face with delight. They were over the moon, finally welcoming a daughter after much anticipation - their only child. When her parents thought they were fated to end their lineage, heaven sent them a gift, this baby girl.

Not long after she was born, her parents brought her back home and named her Ran Zhihan. They felt the name suited their daughter perfectly and often affectionately called her ’little Zhihan.’ Whenever the girl heard her parents calling her by name, she would giggle nonstop, truly too adorable for words.

One day, as Zhang Yichen had just gotten out of bed, he bounced down the stairs. Old Master Zhang turned to him and said, ”Yichen, today, grandfather will teach you how to become a monarch of the business world. In the future, no matter what your path is like, I hope you’ll always persevere on your own path. I hope your final choice won’t disappoint your grandfather.”

Yichen, hearing these words from Old Master Zhang, knew that the elder was reminded once again of his father. He asked Old Master Zhang, ”Grandfather, are you thinking about my dad again? Don’t be sad. You can count on me; I definitely won’t let you down. I will become a business mogul and make sure you live a good life. You shouldn’t be sad, grandfather. You still have me, and having you with me is the happiest thing, even though my mom and dad don’t want me.”

Old Master Zhang, touched by what Zhang Yichen said to him, pondered why Zhentian simply couldn’t understand. He looked at Yichen and asked softly, ”Yichen, do you hate your mom and dad?”

Zhang Yichen thought for a moment, unsure of how to respond; he asked Old Master Zhang, ”Grandfather, do you want me to tell the truth, or would you rather I told a lie to deceive you?”

”Silly child, since Grandpa asked you, it’s definitely because he wants you to tell the truth. You cannot become someone who lies. A man should be upright and honest, not engage in sneaky maneuvers. Even if you want to become a local king in the business world in the future, you must not do anything behind the scenes that harms others or yourself. Do you know what the highest realm for a person is? It’s when you’ve taken business away from someone, and they dare not say anything to you; they can only watch quietly from the shadows as you snatch away the food that had already reached their bowl, without daring to utter a single word. That’s when you’ll truly understand what it means to be a real emperor!”

”Grandpa, I understand. Didn’t you just ask me if I hate my mom and dad? I can tell you now. To tell the truth, I do hate my mom and dad. When I was going to school, other kids were accompanied by their parents, but I only had Grandpa. Meanwhile, my parents abandoned me and left this place. I don’t understand why, since I’m their child too, other kids can have their parents’ love, but why can’t I? Do my mom and dad not love me at all? Could it be that in their eyes there’s always only their stuff and never a place for me, their son? Grandpa, do you know that some kids in school say I am a child that nobody wants? I feel so sad when I hear this, but I force myself not to cry because I know a man should not cry. Only by staying strong, holding back the pain in my heart, can I become an emperor in the business world. But I have feelings too. My parents don’t want me, and it hurts me deep inside. So I say, I hate them. I hate them for abandoning me, for not caring about me, for not being willing to give me even a little bit of their parental love!”

Upon hearing Zhang Yichen speak to him in such a way, Old Master Zhang instantly understood. Who in the world wouldn’t hate their parents for inexplicably abandoning them? But what could he say? No child would be willing to be abandoned by their parents yet still yearn for their love. Old Master Zhang was very clear in his heart that this was truly too cruel for a child. Rather than this, it would be better for Zhang Yichen to hate his parents, perhaps one day he would understand that his son was ultimately more important than anything else.

”Alright, Yichen, Grandpa knows what is in your heart now. But no matter what, I still hope you can understand that your mom and dad don’t not love you. They just have things to do and can’t be by your side. Aren’t you with Grandpa now? Don’t you want Grandpa to stay by your side forever?”

”Grandpa, although I’m only two years old now, I don’t want you to lie to me. I know that my mom and dad didn’t leave me because they had things to do. They just didn’t want to be with me. They just went in search of their freedom, right? To my parents, their freedom is far more important than I, their son, am. Don’t blame me for hating them. Who wouldn’t feel a little hate in their heart? I just never expected that the first people I would hate in my life would be my own birth parents. I admit, I really wish not to hate them, and I know I should be grateful to them for bringing me into this world, allowing me to have today. But I can’t control my own heart. If they were willing to give me a little more love, willing to spend one more day, even just a minute or a few seconds by my side, I would be so happy. Yet I don’t even have this little bit of hope.”

Hearing Zhang Yichen say these words, Old Master Zhang gently spoke to him, ”Yichen, let me tell you something. When your mom and dad abandoned you, Grandpa already drove them out of the Zhang Family’s door and declared that they are absolutely not allowed to step into the Zhang Family’s door for the rest of their lives, even if they pass away outside. It has nothing to do with our Zhang Family. That is to say, Grandpa has already completely severed your relationship with your mom and dad for this lifetime. And back then, I also told your mom and dad that under no circumstances were they allowed to secretly meet with you or engage in any sneaky maneuvers behind the scenes, otherwise I would not hesitate to destroy your mom and dad. Don’t you think such a Grandpa is terrifying? Do you hate Grandpa for treating your mom and dad this way?”

Zhang Yichen first widened his eyes in surprise; he couldn’t believe his grandpa would actually tell him these things. But in the end, he shook his head and said to Old Master Zhang, ”Grandpa, from the time I was born, it was you who took care of me. When I turned one, it was you who was by my side. When I celebrated each of my birthdays, it was still you who was with me. Maybe you think my memory is too incredible, but that’s just how it is. I can’t help but think about these things with my brain because my heart also hurts a lot. Being abandoned by one’s own parents is an emotional trauma that cannot be healed. At school, when my classmates pointed at me and called me a child that nobody wanted, I didn’t shed a single tear. But then I would lie in bed and secretly cry. Because I miss my mom and dad too. But, as soon as I think of them giving me up for their freedom, I get so angry. I hate their selfishness, I hate their heartlessness.”

Old Master Zhang, having heard what Zhang Yichen said, found himself unable to utter a single word. He hadn’t expected this child to have such an extraordinary memory, vividly recalling things from when he was just one year old!
