My Alleged Husband

Chapter 193: Chapter 175 Good Friends_2

”Alright, let’s not talk here anymore; shouldn’t we be getting ready to go back now? Mom and Dad are still waiting at home. Little sister, let me take you to my house for a visit. From now on, you can live at my place, so we can look after each other, and that way my older brother can also keep an eye on you anytime,” Lei Jian said.

”Big brother, you’ve finally spoken what’s in our hearts. I too hope this sister can stay at our house permanently. I find her so beautiful, so adorable, and she seems kind as well. Kind sisters like her are rare these days. We should hurry home now, otherwise, our parents will be unhappy if they wait too long!”

And so, Lei Jian drove home, accompanied by his two younger brothers and his older brother’s girlfriend. On the way, he couldn’t help but look at Ran Zhihan and ask, ”Sister, how long have you and my brother been together? I guess you know that when my brother was very young, he was abandoned by my uncle and aunt. He holds a deep grudge against his parents. I know you came to the United States to further your education and then return to marry him. I want to ask, do his parents know about this big step of you marrying him?”

Ran Zhihan didn’t know how to answer, and said to Lei Jian, ”Brother, I’m not going to hide it from you, I really don’t know what he’s thinking. I’ve tried to persuade him before, why does he hate his parents so much? But he feels his parents’ abandonment has caused him permanent psychological harm. Because of this, he’s decided he’ll never forgive his parents in this lifetime, and no amount of persuasion from me works. When Grandpa talked to him about this before, he blew up at Grandpa, saying if Grandpa allows his parents to come back home, he will leave the Zhang family forever. You know, for an old man, seeing his grandson, whom he’s raised with so much effort, leave, it must feel terrible. So, I don’t know how else to approach this. As for our marriage, I don’t know if he’s told his uncle and aunt. Maybe he has, or maybe he plans to just go through with the wedding without telling his parents?”

”Zhihan, actually, this is a matter between Yichen and his parents, I shouldn’t interfere. But I do hope you can continue to persuade him. I believe you understand that parents always love their children, regardless of the reasons they left Yichen initially. Now that they’ve chosen to return to the country and be with Yichen, it shows they truly realize their mistake. Instead of driving people into a corner, isn’t it better to offer them a way back?” Lei Jian urged Ran Zhihan.

”Brother, I do hope you can understand, it’s not that I haven’t tried persuading him. Everyone’s psychological state is different. For me, even if my parents abandoned me, I would still forgive them because I feel without my parents, there wouldn’t be a me. They gave me life. But Yichen feels differently. He believes his parents abandoned him for their selfish desires, not for him. He thinks his parents came back to find him only because he has become financially successful. If his parents had returned ten years earlier, he wouldn’t have hated his uncle and aunt so much. But his uncle and aunt didn’t choose to come back ten years ago; instead, they chose to continue their vagrant ways for a decade. You also know, a child without their parents’ love feels so empty and lonely, an emptiness that can’t be filled by love or family bonds, only by the love of parents. All these years, you have lived in the care of your parents, under their protection; you think it doesn’t matter. But it’s different for Yichen. He feels his parents abandoned him because they didn’t love him, and since they didn’t love him, they shouldn’t have come back to find him. That’s what Yichen believes, and I don’t know how to persuade him either. Perhaps one day he’ll figure it out for himself. Instead of us worrying and persuading him every day, it might be better to let him calm down and think about what he should do!”

Lei Jian felt that Ran Zhihan made a lot of sense, he smiled at her and said, ”Zhihan, honestly, you express yourself very well. Maybe your decision is the right one. Let’s not worry about his matters anymore; he will come to understand one day. But I want to give you a heads-up. Be careful around his uncle and aunt. Their own son getting married without telling them must be upsetting, so I’m worried they’ll come to bother you. Just settle down in my home with peace of mind, don’t worry, I’ve got your back. I won’t let his uncle and aunt trouble you, just say a few good words for me in front of Yichen in the future!”

Hearing this, Ran Zhihan couldn’t help but laugh, and the three Lei brothers also burst into laughter, filling the car with joy and laughter.
