My Alleged Husband

Chapter 155: Chapter 139 Satisfaction_1

Li Jiayuan leaned into Xiao Wei’s embrace, feeling completely content at the moment. Maybe she wasn’t suited for anything, didn’t desire anything; all she wanted was a home that was purely her own!

”Xiao Wei, do you think we should go and see Elder Sister Xia? I haven’t visited her during your absence either. I was so terrible to her, but when I was discharged, she was too. I saw her at the hospital’s entrance and I’ve apologized to her, and she’s forgiven me. Now I understand that you’re still very important to her. I know you two have been in touch occasionally while you were in the United States. She has had her child, and by all rights, we should visit her, not to mention meeting our nephew. What do you think?” Li Jiayuan said to Xiao Wei, truly wanting to mend her relationship with Xia Jing. She didn’t want to put Xiao Wei in a difficult position.

Upon hearing Li Jiayuan’s words, Xiao Wei felt relieved. He playfully scratched her nose and said with affection, ”You’re finally learning from your mistakes and have come to your senses. In fact, Elder Sister Xia has always been good to me. I don’t like the strife between the two of you, as it puts me in a difficult position. But now that I see you’ve realized this, I feel at ease. Since you brought it up, let’s find a time to visit Elder Sister Xia and take some gifts for our little nephew.”

Li Jiayuan thought Xiao Wei’s suggestion was a good one, and feeling guilty about her previous behavior and words towards Xia Jing, she wondered why she had allowed herself to be controlled by greed and desire. If that hadn’t been the case, Xiao Wei wouldn’t have left her for an entire year, her relationship with Xia Jing wouldn’t have soured so badly, and she wouldn’t have been alone in the hospital giving birth to their child. Indeed, all this was retribution!

”Jiayuan, did you really miss me a lot this year? You named our child Nian Jun. Does that mean ’missing Xiao Wei’? Is the ’Jun’ meant to be me?” Xiao Wei suddenly asked, feeling he should inquire, even though he already knew deep down that Li Jiayuan would not have named their child Nian Jun in memory of anyone else. But he still wanted to fulfill that little desire in his heart...

With a somewhat helpless expression, Li Jiayuan looked at Xiao Wei, thinking: This man already knows everything, so why does he keep asking? It’s so embarrassing to say it out loud!

Seeing Li Jiayuan’s silent reaction, Xiao Wei knew she was feeling shy. He fondly stroked her hair and whispered in her ear, ”Alright, wife, I know you named the child thinking of me. I won’t tease you anymore, okay? Don’t frown, you look so much older when you do that, and I don’t like you looking old...”

Li Jiayuan initially felt pleased to hear Xiao Wei’s words but snapped back to reality when she heard him say, ”I don’t like it when you look old.” Fearing the implications, she exclaimed loudly at Xiao Wei, ”So if I get old, does that mean you will leave me for someone else? Is that what you’re saying? Is it?”

Xiao Wei was truly baffled by Li Jiayuan’s selective hearing. Why didn’t she take in any of the good things he said, and instead, only focused on the one negative statement? He wished he had not said it; now he had a mess to clean up.

”Wife, you’re overthinking it. Even if you grow old and unattractive, I’ll still love you. Think about it, we’ve had a child together, how could I possibly leave you? Don’t worry too much. I misspoke earlier, it was my mistake. Please don’t misunderstand. Why don’t we think about how to visit Elder Sister Xia tomorrow?”

”You’re right. So what do you think we should take with us?” Li Jiayuan smoothly allowed Xiao Wei to redirect her thoughts.

”We don’t need to bring anything, just going there is enough. Elder Sister Xia lacks nothing. As long as we visit, she’ll be happy.” Xiao Wei said, relieved.

”Really? Let’s just go and see Elder Sister Xia then. You’re right, she doesn’t need a thing from us; our visit alone will make her happy,” Li Jiayuan said, tilting her head as she spoke to Xiao Wei.

That night, Xiao Wei didn’t make dinner for Li Jiayuan; instead, he carried her in his arms straight to the bedroom. Throughout the night, the ups and downs were almost too much for Li Jiayuan to handle. It had been a year since she had been in Xiao Wei’s embrace, and suddenly having it back felt like a dream. Yet, her heart was filled with joy; the warmth that belonged to her was finally back by her side!

”I’m so tired, Xiao Wei, please spare me, I’m really so tired, so sleepy...” Li Jiayuan was saying this, and before Xiao Wei could respond, she had already fallen into a deep sleep!

Xiao Wei looked at Li Jiayuan, who had fallen asleep in his arms, and sighed. He didn’t know if he was speaking to Li Jiayuan or to himself, ”Jiayuan, during the time I was away, how much hardship have you endured? Why are you sleeping so soundly? Could it be that without me, you’ve never really had a good night’s sleep? Rest assured, from now on, I will take good care of you, take good care of our child, I will make sure you’re never hurt again, never let you shed a single tear because of me!”

Unfortunately, Li Jiayuan had fallen asleep, if she were awake to hear these words from Xiao Wei, who knows how happy she might have been!

That night, Li Jiayuan slept very soundly and comfortably, feeling that it had been a long time since she had slept so well, perhaps because Xiao Wei was by her side, giving her a sense of security. Otherwise, she probably would not have slept so well.

The next morning when Li Jiayuan woke up, Xiao Wei was already not by her side. She got up groggily, changed into her clothes, and when she went downstairs, she found that the table was already set with dishes, all of which were her favorites. She thought perhaps her father had made them. She peeked her head into the kitchen, curious to see who had made the food. Just as she poked her head in, Xiao Wei came out of the kitchen, and her head bumped unexpectedly into his sturdy chest. She raised her head, saw Xiao Wei, and touched her head awkwardly, saying to him, ”I’m sorry, I dropped something here, just picking it up, I didn’t know you were inside, so I hope you don’t mind that I bumped into you!”

With a look that was both teasing and not, Xiao Wei watched Li Jiayuan and said to her, ”Hey, there’s a fool, who clearly can’t lie but still tries to lie to me. Why do you think that is?”

Hearing Xiao Wei’s question, Li Jiayuan didn’t even think before blurting out to him, ”That’s because this person is afraid that you’ll find out she was sneakily watching you!”

After saying this, Li Jiayuan realized what she had done and covered her mouth with her hand, eyes wide, staring at Xiao Wei.

Xiao Wei said nothing, just smiled.

Li Jiayuan, her face blushing, turned around and ran off. Xiao Wei reached out and caught Li Jiayuan, pulling her into his embrace, and said to her, ”So what you mean is that you were sneakily watching me just now?”

”Not at all, I just wanted to see who had made me breakfast!”

”No matter who made it, wash up quickly and then come eat!” Xiao Wei said to Li Jiayuan.

Li Jiayuan nodded and hastily ran off. Xiao Wei looked at Li Jiayuan, who was acting like a child, and his heart was truly filled with immense joy.
