The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 750: Chapter 750: You Are Coveting Beauty

The age-old topic, within the Prime Minister’s Mansion, whether it is Song Ci or the Old Master, they are the most important people in the household. As long as they live, Song Zhiyuan and others can hold their positions, but if they’re gone, inevitably, mourning obligations and filial duties will interrupt, a promising future would suddenly stall, definitely a blow to the Prime Minister’s Mansion.

So everyone in the household is earnestly hoping these two treasures live a long life, especially Song Ci, as she is closely linked with two vitally important people in the palace, which is an emotional bond and also considered the strongest backing for the Prime Minister’s Mansion. If she’s gone, this backing would weaken by half, after all, out of sight, out of mind.

Now that Song Ci is gathering a few horses of unknown origins, who knows what kind of people might be mixed in. How dare they gamble with Song Ci’s life?

”Don’t worry, I’ll let the eldest handle it.” Song Ci reassured the two.

Seeing this, Jiang and the others understood that Song Zhiyuan definitely wouldn’t stand by, and they felt relieved, only reminding Song Ci not to have anyone leave her side.

After the two daughters-in-law left, Nanny Gong had also returned to serve Song Ci.

”Are the few numbered one, two, three, four, and five settled?” Song Ci asked while holding her tea.

Nanny Gong nodded: ”As per your instructions, two people per room, and guards have been posted. If anyone moves randomly, they will be treated as spies.”

Song Ci gave her a thumbs-up: ”Well done. Without my orders, don’t let them wander around. Even the courtyard on my side is off-limits, they’re not allowed to move freely.”

Nanny Gong curiously asked: ”Since you are guarding against them, why keep them?”

”Should I send them back to the old fool? He’s one who lacks brains.”

Nanny Gong: ”This old servant thought you would strip them and throw them back to that so-called chamber of commerce.”

Song Ci glared: ”Nanny Gong, do you really see me as such a barbaric person? I am the most gentle and considerate!”

Nanny Gong didn’t even blink: ”So in plain words, you’re coveting and lusting after their beauty.”

Song Ci: ”...”

Pointing it out upon seeing through, is that polite?

She took a sip of tea and sheepishly said, ”Not exactly, they’re being kept because they’re useful.”

”I’d love to hear more.”

A few horses—apart from the skills of serving others, what else is useful?

”To relieve boredom, give me entertainment, sing and dance for me.” Song Ci chuckled: ”I’ll enjoy for a few days first, just right, let Meiyue and others watch too, see how others serve.”

Nanny Gong raised an eyebrow: ”Have them learn?”

Song Ci’s smile slightly faded, scoffed: ”Unable to even please the old man, they’re failing as favored concubines. If they don’t improve their professional skills and new faces step in strongly, where will they go to cry in the future? I’m doing this for their sake, tell me where in the world is there an official wife as generous as me!”

Nanny Gong: Forgive me for not understanding what you’re saying, but on one point, if they were successful, wouldn’t you be at ease and happy? Furthermore, even if newcomers appear, aren’t you, Lady Song Ci, the main wife in charge, it isn’t easy for anyone else to take over so easily!

”Actually, there’s also the intention to let the eldest investigate thoroughly. Suddenly, someone passing through the old man tries to plant people in our mansion. Is this thinking our mansion too peaceful, trying to stir up trouble, seeking to amuse themselves with the Prime Minister’s Mansion’s intrigue?” Song Ci’s eyes flickered with wisdom, saying: ”If I can see it, that refined person can see it too, oh, and the Emperor will see it as well.”

Someone is trying to stir things up!

Nanny Gong was completely reassured, saying: ”As long as you have it in mind, that’s good.”

”Don’t worry, I still fear death, so make sure you have someone keep a close watch on them.” Song Ci instructed.
