The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 743: Chapter 743: The Savior Returns

The arrival of Liang Mama at the Gu Family left Song Ci and others quite surprised. No one visits a temple without a reason. This sudden visit surely has a purpose.

Sure enough, after hearing the report, Song Ci was visibly upset. That shameless old man, bringing home six maids—does he even consider his age and capability?

The banquet was almost over anyway, so Song Ci proposed to leave, taking her two daughters-in-law along to go back and extinguish the fire.

Song Ruqian, upon hearing that the mama from her mother’s side had arrived and her grandmother had left in haste, thought for a moment and then instructed a trusted mama to personally escort her back to the Prime Minister’s Mansion. It would also be a good opportunity to inquire about any matters at her maternal family.

Song Ruqi, on the other hand, directly followed them back, considering that it was not too late. She was concerned about her mother, intending to express her filial duties at home before returning to the Duke Mansion. She assumed the Duke Madam would have nothing to say about it.

Upon returning to the mansion, someone was already waiting at the east corner gate. Seeing the carriage, they hurriedly came forward to greet them, stating that Madam at the main courtyard wasn’t feeling well, and the mansion doctor had been called.

Everyone was taken aback.

Song Ruqi stepped forward and demanded sharply, ”What happened to mother?”

The servant woman shrank back, hesitantly replying, ”J-just some pregnancy complications.”

Song Ruqi’s face changed color several times, looking at Song Ci with a trembling voice, ”Grandmother...”

Song Ci’s expression also darkened, ”Don’t panic, let’s go inside and see.”

As an elderly lady, she didn’t walk fast, so she sat in a small oil cart and quickly made her way to the second entrance.

Main Courtyard.

Upon hearing Lin Qing’s words, all color drained from Madam’s face. She asked with trembling lips, ”Doctor Lin, why am I showing symptoms of bleeding?”

She held her abdomen with both hands, not daring to move for fear that any movement might harm the child.

Lin Qing said, ”Madam, you’re not young anymore.”

Madam gave a slight cough, there’s no need to remind me of this distressing fact.

”Pregnancy at an older age naturally comes with more troubles. Now, you have been agitated, with your emotions fluctuating greatly, causing the pregnancy complications,” Lin Qing continued, ”Therefore, Madam, it would be best to calm your mind and not get too excited. If the sky fell, you have the Prime Minister to hold it up for you, and at the very least, there’s the Old Madam.”

Madam’s face turned bitter; how could she not be upset?

Her father-in-law personally brought back beautiful maids for her husband. These vixen-like youthful and charming girls were close to her husband. How could she not be anxious?

”Doctor Lin, what about my...” Madam ignored the petty competition and urgently inquired about the state of her abdomen.

Lin Qing replied, ”Rest in bed for a few days and take the fetus-preserving medicine. Wait until the bleeding stops before getting up.”

”Can it still be saved?” Madam felt a sense of relief.

Lin Qing gave a faint glance and said, ”It’s just a hint of bleeding, not too severe, but if you remain unsettled, even an immortal couldn’t help you. But you must not be careless; this child is only six months along. If you don’t relax, who knows what could happen.”

Seven-month-old premature babies, with meticulous care, often survive, but those at six months, it’s difficult.

The breath Madam just released was again taken away as she anxiously touched her belly, secretly cursing her father-in-law several times.

If something unexpected happens to this child, she would never forgive him for bringing such chaos upon the family after his long absence.

”Madam, the Old Madam and the others have already returned to the mansion and entered the second entrance. They are on their way here,” announced Mama Fang softly.

Madam was again agitated; her savior had arrived.
