The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 725: Chapter 725: The Cunning Heart of the Doggy Younger Brother

Song Lingzhao wanted to join the army, it was from listening to stories of military camps and battlefields from the Commandery Princess’s fourth aunt. The books he usually read were basically various military strategy books and famous unofficial histories, and his collections were all kinds of weapons.

He genuinely loved martial arts; otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone this far.

He wanted to join the army because he yearned for army life and wanted to achieve some fame and honor, not just to gild himself for some empty fame.

In his view, that was especially meaningless; fake is fake, and can’t become real.

Song Lingjie: ”Aren’t you afraid of death?”

Song Lingzhao was stunned.

”Once you enter the army camp, to blend in with the soldiers, you have to climb up from the bottom, endure hardships, train soldiers, and do many things you’ve never done before. And to achieve merits, you have to go through many battles, big and small, but once the two armies engage, you become this.”

Song Lingjie caught a small ant crawling on the ridge of a tile, saying: ”On the battlefield, soldiers are like ants, especially the new recruits, who are cannon fodder. Those with good fortune and agile skills can kill enemies in battle and earn honors. But those without skills and bad luck are like this, giving their lives on the battlefield because no one will protect you then; everyone is in danger.”

As he spoke, he moved his fingers and directly pinched the ant to death between them.

Song Lingzhao looked at the innocent little black dot that died tragically and hesitated before saying: ”Well, you can just say it, wasn’t necessary to kill, right? Can’t I understand?”

Song Lingjie: ”...”

He wiped the ant off on his clothes emotionlessly, saying: ”At least it died for you, might as well feel the taste of fine silk and satin.”

Song Lingzhao: ”...”

In terms of being dark, the younger brother is darker.

He didn’t mind having ’a corpse’ on his clothes and looked at the setting sun, saying: ”Who isn’t afraid of death? But if I go to the battlefield and die truly on the field, that’s fate, who told me to enlist.”

”Have you thought it through, if you truly die, I’ll monopolize the father’s and mother’s estate by myself, there won’t be a share for you.”

Song Lingzhao glared at him: ”Even if I don’t die, isn’t it all yours too? Talking about life and death during a birthday, aren’t you afraid of bad luck?”

Still a real brother, a brother competing for family inheritance, he’s better off without it, hmm.

Song Lingjie glanced at him sideways: ”I am kindly advising you to give up, after all, I have only you as my real brother.”

Song Lingzhao pouted and said: ”It’s just idle talk, whether it can happen is hard to say, I just feel the road ahead is bleak, that’s all.”

”If you really want to, then go ahead.”

”Haha, the fox’s tail is showing, right? For the sake of father’s and mother’s estate, you’re pushing your own brother out of the house, trying to monopolize it yourself.” Song Lingzhao deliberately glared and bared his teeth.

Song Lingjie’s expression didn’t change: ”Sure.”

Song Lingzhao licked his lips: ”Really helping me?”

”Every June is the recruitment season, you and I are twin brothers, since you have this idea, actually you secretly have decided, I just said it for you.”

Song Lingzhao felt a chill in his heart, damn, the younger brother is pretending to have the heart of a fox, so good at guessing.

”You won’t sell your elder brother out, will you?”

Song Lingjie stood up and looked down at him: ”Give me the ancient books that the fourth aunt gave to you, and I’ll keep it a secret, otherwise, hehe.”

Song Lingzhao: ”...”

He hehed a bunch of nonsense.

Watching his brother climb down the ladder, Song Lingzhao spat: ”You little fox, calculating this and that, it was all actually for those ancient books!”

Song Lingjie’s response was waving his hand.
