The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 710: Chapter 710 What Nonsense Are You Spouting as if It’s the Absolute Truth?

Where there are women, there are battles and smoke.

Song Ci sipped her tea gently, smiling as she watched these women engage in tongue fights.

Who said women only talk about jewelry, clothes, and concubine men? Their skill in veiled mockery isn’t low either.

However, she just couldn’t understand why, since they were all pregnant, they came to the banquet. Dare they eat anything here?

Song Ci glanced over and indeed noticed that they hardly touched their chopsticks. Even when they did, it was just a show, not even touching their lips, extremely cautious.

Aha, she understood; they came to the banquet just to eat loneliness!

”Madam, this Simmered Three Delicacies is quite nice, please try it.” Princess Wu smiled and used the serving chopsticks to place some Simmered Three Delicacies into Song Ci’s bowl.

Song Ci: ”...”

She just wanted to ask, you clearly haven’t tasted it, how do you know it’s nice?

With Princess Wu’s initiative to show goodwill, Consort Xiao couldn’t care less about arguing with her sisters-in-law and personally placed a digestible Steamed Furong Egg with Shrimp into her bowl: ”This Furong Egg looks smooth and easy to digest; please taste it.”

Song Ci looked at the heaping food in her bowl, feeling a bit overwhelmed with favor.

What kind of script are they following?

Princess Anping laughed and said, ”Do you only know how to show respect to the elderly? How could you forget about me, your aunt, without serving me a bit? You must not be partial.”

The others quickly served food to Princess Anping.

Song Ci blinked, starting to understand a bit. They were probably trying to win goodwill on behalf of their own princes, weren’t they?

No wonder, they were all coming even with their big bellies. Could it be they wanted her to be favorable towards one of them, thus bringing the Song Family into one of their camps? At the very least, she could say a few good words in front of the Empress Dowager!

The competition for succession isn’t even at a boiling point yet, but already they’re fighting so fiercely?

Song Ci felt quite cocky, really a rare sight in her life, to be the one being courted for once.

It was at this time that Princess Consort Ji came over, her well-maintained face blooming like a chrysanthemum, looking a few years younger than usual, truly embodying the saying that joy makes people feel youthful.

Princess Anping stood up with a smile and offered her congratulations.

Song Ci said, ”Dowager, tomorrow you will be able to drink daughter-in-law tea; this is truly a big joy, congratulations.”

”Mutual congratulations, mutual congratulations; nothing compares to Madam Song having gained another talented golden grandson.” Princess Consort Ji rarely returned a smile and even said something pleasant.

Song Ci was quite surprised; the other actually smiled and said kind words to her, truly as if the sun rose from the west. It seems the dowry of Princess Chongyang greatly satisfied her!

Indeed, Song Ci thought the happiness of Princess Consort Ji stemmed from the dowry her daughter-in-law brought.

It was extremely generous!

One must say, Song Ci understood the truth.

Princess Consort Ji wasn’t pleased with Princess Chongyang as a daughter-in-law, but seeing the dowry that couldn’t fit in two courtyards, it practically blinded her. She never expected the other side would bring so much dowry!

In light of this lavish dowry, she didn’t mind sparing a smile.

”The feast has been prepared by a famous chef from Taixing Restaurant. You all must eat more,” laughed Princess Consort Ji as she greeted everyone.

The crowd: ”...”

As if no one has ever eaten Taixing Restaurant’s food before.

Song Ci watched Princess Consort Ji, looking like a mother hen, as she went from table to table, greeting everyone, and whispered to Princess Anping: ”The dowry from Prince Min’s consort really surpasses all elixirs. It can cure all of Princess Consort Ji’s discontent and dissatisfaction.”

Princess Anping: ”...”

Why are you speaking such blunt truths!
