The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 738: Chapter 738: Want to Cheer for My Sister

Upon hearing what Song Ruqi said, Song Ruqian’s heart lifted, her gaze slightly changed: ”Are you saying she really tried to place someone into your quarters?”

Song Ruqi responded nonchalantly, ”Sister, not everyone is like Grandmother, the kind of mother-in-law you find in the Duke Mansion, among those noble ranks, putting someone in is the most normal thing to do, isn’t it?”

”And then you...”

Song Ruqi mocked, ”You don’t know how nice her words sounded, saying I still needed to recover, my husband shouldn’t lack care, moreover that wretched maid had served him for many years, now gone, he might be somewhat sad, so she rewarded someone to serve us.”

A hint of anger flared in Song Ruqian’s eyes, spoken so righteously, not knowing it was to bolster her mother-in-law’s authority?

If you’re going to place someone, just do it, why mention that treacherous maid? What’s meant by that, pitying her? What position does that leave Song Ruqi in?

”And then?”

Song Ruqi touched her hairpin, laughed coldly, ”Then? I openly brought her back, and promptly instructed her to send a midnight snack to my father-in-law every day.”

Song Ruqian choked, glaring at her, as if saying she’s got the guts of a bear and the heart of a leopard, being so bold.

”Mother-in-law cares for me, naturally I should be grateful and reciprocate, shouldn’t I? As the daughter-in-law, being unwell, unable to attend to the in-laws personally, I had to send my maid instead.” Song Ruqi said as if it was only right.

Song Ruqian shook her head with a smile, chiding, ”By doing this, you’re directly opposing her, how could she let it go?”

”Of course she wouldn’t. When she asked what I meant, I honestly told her, feeling sorry for the two elders with no one to serve them, expressing my filial piety. Is there anything wrong with that? You wouldn’t know; her face nearly twisted at that time.”

Nothing wrong at all, merely makes one want to cheer for this girl.

”Qi’er, aren’t you afraid she’ll establish rules against you?”

”It’s inevitable she’ll want to establish rules for me, being the mother-in-law and all. If she dares to impose, I’ll immediately faint in front of her, see, am I not unwell, having suffered a miscarriage? Oh, I heard a nanny by her side got dealt with, I just touched a bracelet and said some sarcastic words, and she claimed to have a headache, asking me to leave. Sister, don’t you find it funny?” Song Ruqi said through gritted teeth.

Song Ruqian noticed the hatred in her eyes and cautiously asked, ”Do you think she’s the one who administered the drugs?”

Song Ruqi shook her head, ”I don’t know, but the nanny by her side definitely has issues.”

Song Ruqian held her hand, advising, ”She doesn’t need to do that; after all, Qi San is also her legitimate son. Don’t get stuck in a loop, hating the wrong person.”

”You don’t know, when my husband was born, she suffered a lot, took a year to recover, so she never regarded him as highly as his second brother.” Song Ruqi said, ”I’m not trying to hate her too much, but she’s doing this to create discomfort for me, also to hit my self-esteem. She feels when I had the miscarriage, my family was too arrogant, trying various ways to suppress me.”

”The Duke Madam looks good, but her actions are...”

”As for her, she’s most concerned about herself, very selfish.” Song Ruqi laughed sarcastically, saying, ”Grandmother is right, as a grand young lady of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, my family has a strong backing, no worse than anyone. I, Song Ruqi, have never been one to meekly endure, having suffered enough now. If she wants to embarrass me, then let’s all be embarrassed. Label me a jealous woman, whatever, as long as I’m comfortable.”

Song Ruqian remarked, ”You have not only your family but also your sister-in-law standing by you!”
