The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 741: Chapter 741: The Duke Rewards the Beautiful Maid

When Madam Song arrived at Songhe Hall, she saw the two young concubines of the Old Master of the Song Family in the courtyard. When they noticed her being assisted by maids, their eyes fell on her large belly with complex expressions tinged with a hint of bitterness and covert jealousy.

They probably had no chance to become mothers with big bellies.

No, if they were willing to leave, perhaps there was a chance, but were they willing to abandon their current splendor and wealth?

Concubine Mei pulled Shui Lianlian, and the two stepped forward together to greet Madam Song with a bow.

Their low status did not allow them to accept a bow from her.

But Madam Song returned a half-bow to them, as they were her father-in-law’s concubines, and their status was not on equal footing.

”Madam, please try not to get upset.” Concubine Mei was the first to show goodwill.

Madam Song was taken aback, what did this mean?

She was about to ask more when Old Master Song came out of the hall. Seeing her, he sighed with his hands behind his back.

Madam Song hurriedly went over to greet Old Master Song: ”Father, I hope you are well.”

”Hmm.” Old Master Song carried the demeanor of a patriarch, glanced at her belly, and said, ”Gu Shi, you have done well to expand the branches and leaves of the Song Family.”

”Father, you overpraise me.” Madam Song felt somewhat uneasy and found it rather odd.

Old Master Song, being a man, wouldn’t possibly speak much reasoning with his daughter-in-law, so he merely said, ”It’s good to expand the family, but one must also be virtuous and serve her husband well.”

Madam Song was shocked and raised her head instantly, what did this mean, did he think she wasn’t virtuous enough?

”Go and call everyone out.” Old Master Song looked at Concubine Mei, then said to Madam Song, ”A virtuous wife must not be jealous. Since your condition is inconvenient, I have a few lovely companions here. You can choose two to serve the eldest son.”

Boom.

Madam Song felt a flash of white light before her eyes, followed by a thunderous crash that made her body tremble.

Looking up at the sky, she noticed that at some point, dark clouds had gathered, and the muffled thunder roared, causing her heart to race.

But this muffled thunder struck right at Madam Song’s heart, leaving her in a stupor, dumbfounded as she stared at the chubby and fair old man in front of her.

Old Master Song furrowed his brows, feeling somewhat displeased with this daughter-in-law. From the moment she married into the family, she had carried an air of superiority, as if everyone in the Song Family was beneath her.

Even after all these years of marriage, besides managing household affairs well, she had only given birth to one son and two daughters for the eldest son, and that was it. She didn’t have the capability to bear more children, nor did she proactively take concubines for the eldest son.

Since she wouldn’t, the old woman Song Ci was also inept, not preparing a few for her son. Outsiders slyly mocked that the few children in their family were closely controlled by a jealous wife.

It infuriated the Old Master!

Now, with Gu Shi pregnant and unable to serve, he couldn’t possibly stop the patriarch from rewarding some beauties, could he?

”Father, have I done something wrong?” Madam Song’s face turned pale, her lips trembling.

She watched as six adorned, delicate young women of fifteen or sixteen years old emerged from a room, lining up.

All were youthful and beautiful, their eyes filled with a seductive charm.

They were clearly professionally trained seducers.

Madam Song’s stomach churned, feeling as though the bird’s nest she had consumed earlier was surging back up, making her want to vomit.

”All come and greet Madam Song.” Old Master Song waved a hand like an old tekkō.

”The maids greet Madam Song.” The sweet voices harmonized.

Madam Song vomited forcefully.
