Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chen Wen glanced at the wooden strip on the stone and nodded with satisfaction.

At this moment, the Golden Eagle sensed that Chen Wen was about to continue sawing the wooden strip.

However, Chen Wen switched tasks again: ”Let’s go, let’s head to the lakeside. It’s early morning, and many animals come to drink. Let’s take a look; we might spot targets for our next hunt.”

Hearing this, the Golden Eagle was a bit puzzled: ”Huh? Weren’t you going to continue working, tidying up the wood?”

”Not anymore. The current task is to fetch water and check the distribution of prey.”

Chen Wen said with a laugh.

If anyone paid attention to Chen Wen’s performance during solitary wilderness survival at Great Slave Lake, they would surely recognize his current situation.

Pomodoro Technique.

A highly efficient time management method once used by Chen Wen.

The main idea is to change tasks and set various small goals to keep the freshness and efficiency of work.

Especially suitable for survival in a fixed location.

As a time management expert, Chen Wen once again employed his time management skills this time.

The Golden Eagle listened to Chen Wen’s explanation, feeling a bit bewildered.

Humans really know how to play, even managing time!

It shook its head, pondering whether it should also learn this so-called time management.

It seemed quite interesting.

The Snow Leopard, on the other hand, had its mouth open, looking bewildered.

Time?

Management?

What on earth are those?

Seeing the Snow Leopard’s puzzled expression, Chen Wen explained to it while walking, about these basic human social concepts.

Anyway, after this survival session, Chen Wen is overwhelmingly likely to take the Snow Leopard with him.

Teaching it similar knowledge in advance would also help the Snow Leopard adapt to the human social environment.

So, talking while walking.

Chen Wen led the Snow Leopard and the Golden Eagle over the mountain, to the other side of the valley.

Since it wasn’t too late, it was still early morning.

Chen Wen clearly felt that there were significantly more animals here.

Moreover, the term burst out by the wild sheep [High Mountain Watcher] has also given Chen Wen an extended view.

Standing at a high spot overlooking the lakeside, he quickly spotted some suitable targets.

”Tibetan Wild Donkey, definitely not, but among that group, there seems to be an old donkey that looks quite elderly. If luck is on my side and this fellow gets killed by other predators or dies of old age, I might be able to get lucky.”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but say as he looked at the group of Tibetan Wild Donkeys.

Meanwhile, he also saw a herd of wild horses in the distance.

Wild horses, or rather Tibetan Horses.

Chen Wen has read about them; these horses are native to Qiangtang.

They are relatively small in stature, with shoulder heights generally ranging from 1.2 to 1.4 meters, among the horse family, they belong to the smaller kind.

However, Tibetan Horses have very solid muscles and strong limbs, with cold resistance and adaptation to low oxygen levels. On the plateau, their stamina is excellent.

They are considered one of the top horse breeds on the plateau.

Furthermore, wild Tibetan Horses are among those Chen Wen can hunt. If he manages to hunt down a Tibetan Horse, the food problem would be resolved!

Chen Wen thought to himself, and he has already listed Tibetan Horses as one of his hunting targets.

In addition to Tibetan Horses, River Curve Horses are relatively common on the plateau.

However, River Curve Horses were originally purchased by herdsmen and are not native to Qiangtang.

However, years ago, some River Curve Horses escaped herdsmen’s control for various reasons and eventually settled on the Qiangtang Plateau.

Thanks to subsequent protection, these River Curve Horses have also thrived and survived on the plateau.

River Curve Horses also have excellent endurance and adapt well to the plateau environment.

However, their shoulder height is generally higher than that of Tibetan Horses, around 1.5 meters, making the two types relatively easy to distinguish.

River Curve Horses are also permitted for hunting, but only one can be hunted.

Moreover, there are also hybrid horses between River Curve Horses and Tibetan Horses.

There are quite a few such horses.

In short, horses count as the few large game Chen Wen can hunt this time.

However, whether it’s Tibetan Horses or River Curve Horses, these creatures have very keen perception abilities.

After Chen Wen descended the mountain.

He hadn’t walked far when the group of Tibetan Horses in the distance noticed Chen Wen’s presence.

Chen Wen calculated that these animals’ alert distance is about one hundred meters more than that of the Tibetan Wild Donkeys.

At a distance of two hundred and fifty meters, even three hundred meters, the herd was aware of Chen Wen.

”This perception ability is stronger than the wild horses in Australia!”

Chen Wen marveled, shaking his head.

As Chen Wen continued to approach, these wild horses maintained their distance from him.

However, Chen Wen had no intention of hunting them.

Soon, the herd of wild horses relaxed somewhat and stopped moving away.

...

Chen Wen arrived at the lakeside.

Across the lake, he saw what seemed like Tibetan Antelope on the opposite shore.

Speaking of Tibetan Antelope, these highland elves can easily be regarded as the best embodiment of the national protective animal policies.

Historically, the number of Tibetan Antelope once reached over a million.

Yet due to the demand in the international market for shahtoosh, Tibetan Antelope wool shawls, they faced massive poaching in the last 20 years of the 20th century, causing a drastic decline in numbers.

By 1995, there were only over 50,000 left across Zang Province; distribution density in Qiangtang was less than 0.2 per square kilometer.

This number was incredibly small.

At that time, Tibetan Antelope could entirely be said to be on the brink of extinction!

But, with national intervention and joint protection by local governments and committed individuals.

According to the latest monitoring results, the current wild population has recovered to over 300,000.

And the protection level for Tibetan Antelope has been downgraded from first-class to second-class.

Chen Wen is allowed to hunt one or two Tibetan Antelopes this time.

But the cost is enormous!

One Tibetan Antelope would require paying hundreds of thousands in real money!

The payments would be used in protective policies within the reservation.

Chen Wen looked at the Tibetan Antelope. To be honest, he’s very interested in their fur.

Though not from a collection or hunting interest, rather wanting to feel the actual, living Tibetan Antelope fur.

Before coming, Chen Wen reviewed records about Tibetan Antelope.

One among them is a Guinness World Record.

Tibetan Antelope possesses the best natural fiber, with soft underfur diameters between 7-10 micrometers, ten times thinner than average human hair.

It’s precisely because they were recorded in the Guinness World Record for their wool—shahtoosh (Persian ”King of Wool”)—trade, that led to a sharp decrease in their numbers.

Chen Wen withdrew his gaze, not looking anymore.

If given the chance, he plans to hunt or tame a Tibetan Antelope to see what the situation is.

And at the opposite lakeside, Chen Wen also saw the Tibetan Gazelle.

They are somewhat distant relatives to the Tibetan Antelope, looking quite similar.

However, the Tibetan Gazelle has prominent white fur on their behinds, making it easy for Chen Wen to distinguish them from Tibetan Antelope.
