Wilderness Survival with Druid System

In the perspective of the Tibetan antelope, Chen Wen seemed like a phantom, suddenly appearing and launching an attack.

And a deadly one at that!

He didn’t even expose a scent!

So this hunt would become unbelievably simple.

Chen Wen picked up the dead old male Tibetan antelope, as if he was carrying a chicken, and walked toward the lakeside.

At the lakeside, he skinned the Tibetan antelope and took out the innards.

However, to Chen Wen’s dismay, the spear had pierced through the Tibetan antelope’s digestive organs this time.

Making the Tibetan antelope’s abdomen a bit unsightly.

Chen Wen held the Tibetan antelope’s carcass, rinsing it by the lake for a long time before cleaning its abdomen thoroughly.

Just as he finished cleaning and was planning to leave with the Tibetan antelope.

The Golden Eagle landed beside him, clutching two oddly-looking animals.

”Yo, caught them?”

Chen Wen looked at the two pigeon-like animals caught by the Golden Eagle, unable to hold back a smile.

The Golden Eagle had caught two adult Snow Pigeons.

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s question.

The Golden Eagle proudly flapped its wings: ”Hey, of course, my technique for catching birds, you should learn!”

Chen Wen chuckled.

He took the Snow Pigeons from the Golden Eagle and glanced at them: ”Hmm, there are clean and neat claw marks, a high-altitude dive, grabbed onto the body with one claw, right? As for this one, looking at the multiple scars, it seems you didn’t catch it the first time and had to chase it down, right?”

Listening to Chen Wen’s consecutive questions, the Golden Eagle chuckled awkwardly, flapping its wings.

How does Chen Wen know so clearly?

Did he go with me?

The Golden Eagle glanced at the Tibetan antelope carcass beside Chen Wen, shrinking its head.

This guy seems to have gotten a lot stronger again!

Such a big sheep, caught in no time!

The Golden Eagle can’t differentiate between sheep and deer well.

Chen Wen carried out a simple processing of the two Snow Pigeons brought by the Golden Eagle.

Skinning, removing the innards.

After cleaning them, Chen Wen carried the Tibetan antelope and the two Snow Pigeons back to the camp.

By the time he reached the camp, it had passed only about three hours.

In the camp, the three little Snow Leopards seemed to have just woken up, lazily cuddling in their mother’s embrace.

The Snow Leopard was now quite maternal, giving Chen Wen an increasingly tranquil feeling.

After a glance at the Snow Leopard family, Chen Wen went on to prepare the cooking pot and light the fire.

Intending to make Tibetan antelope jerky.

He now has a terrifyingly large amount of stored jerky.

By adding Tibetan antelope jerky, he feels he won’t need to hunt anymore.

The stored food is 100% enough to last till the end of survival, with some surplus.

A vast margin for error.

...

The process of making Tibetan antelope jerky is similar to yak jerky.

Removing the sinews and fat from the meat, boiling it, and then spreading it outside the camp to dry.

However, unlike yaks, Tibetan antelopes have almost no fat, greatly simplifying the first step of the process.

Therefore, by evening, Chen Wen had almost finished processing the Tibetan antelope.

Dinner was boiled with the heart of the Tibetan antelope.

The taste was quite average, possibly because this Tibetan antelope was too old, the heart’s texture wasn’t great either.

Chen Wen frowned while eating and couldn’t help but let out a long sigh after finishing.

So disgusting!

But he still raised a thumb with the Golden Eagle’s teasing expression: ”Not bad, the taste is alright!”

After eating the Tibetan antelope, Chen Wen also acquired its entry.

The Tibetan antelope provided Chen Wen with a top-tier entry, so much so that he dismissed the tough heart.

[Keen Eyes and Ears (Gold): Significantly enhance your hearing and eyesight, allowing you to hear sounds from further away and see movements from afar more clearly, but be careful of eye strain]

This entry represents an almost all-around enhancement of perception ability.

Hearing and eyesight are the two most common perception abilities for survivors.

This entry directly boosted both abilities, satisfying two wishes at once!

...

After selecting the entry, Chen Wen started to rest.

The next day, he completed the processing of all the Tibetan antelope meat and began tanning the Tibetan antelope leather.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen cooked one Snow Pigeon and roasted the other.

The boiled Snow Pigeon was given to the Golden Eagle for it to eat.

While Chen Wen ate the entire roasted one.

Also, the Snow Pigeons provided Chen Wen with another entry, though quite ordinary, increasing short-distance running speed. Chen Wen recalls he has previously acquired a similar entry.

[Sprinter (Blue): During short-distance running, spreading your arms will help maintain balance and increase running speed]

After obtaining the entry, Chen Wen tested the running effect.

To be honest, this posture resembles a running style from some anime, with arms spread, keeping them to the sides of the body to maintain balance while running.

The effect isn’t particularly good, not faster than Chen Wen’s regular running speed.

The speed boost is quite limited.

Perhaps it’s only useful in certain special circumstances.

Chen Wen shook his head, not bothering much, as this entry was quite mediocre.

...

With two proactive hunts, Chen Wen felt his food supply was plentiful.

Thus, after eating the Snow Pigeons, he made a decision—rest!

Just like when he was alone in the wilderness, Chen Wen decisively lay down in the shelter.

Unless necessary, not going out.

Looking at Chen Wen’s resting state on the stone bed, Qu Yong couldn’t tell what he felt.

”Chen Wen is... well, okay, at least he’s not courting disaster, living steadily like this isn’t bad at all.”

Qu Yong shook his head, no longer paying attention to Chen Wen’s situation.

Quickly, a day passed.

Chen Wen continued in a resting and slacking off state, with almost no intention of going out.

Meanwhile, not far from Chen Wen.

A set of tire tracks was slowly approaching.

...

On the forty-first day of survival.

Chen Wen, having lounged for several days, sat up from the stone bed and yawned towards the sky outside.

”The weather is nice today, rare to have no wind.”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but utter.

In Qiangtang, wind is the most common weather here.

Chen Wen feels like there were hardly any days without wind since arriving here.

But today is different, there’s genuinely no wind.

Not even a gentle breeze.

”Given that, want to go out and play?”

The Golden Eagle eagerly asked.

As Chen Wen started to rest, it felt like it was getting bored out of its mind these past few days.

Aside from daily hunting, it was incredibly dull.

Seeing the Golden Eagle’s eager demeanor, Chen Wen could only swallow his initial intention to reject back down.

”Alright then, since you’re so enthusiastic, let’s go for a stroll.”

Upon hearing this, the Golden Eagle immediately took off excitedly.

Just as Chen Wen was about to set off with the Golden Eagle, the Snow Leopard unexpectedly spoke: ”Let’s go together, I also want to go out and stretch, been cooped up these days!”

Looking at the Snow Leopard, Chen Wen pondered for a moment and said: ”So, your three cubs... are you planning to leave with them?”

”No.”

The Snow Leopard shook its head.

Although it’s unclear why, it decided to leave the three Snow Leopard cubs behind.

There’s a feeling that it’s not the right time to bring them out now.

Upon hearing, Chen Wen hesitated a bit, but seeing the Snow Leopard eager to go out said: ”Then let’s go together, but remember to block the cave entrance when heading out, to prevent them from following.”

At this point, the Snow Leopard cubs could already run steadily; without blocking the entrance, these little ones would certainly run outside.
