The next morning.

Chen Wen got up early, chewing on beef jerky, and set off with the Golden Eagle on the road to find the River Curve Horse.

The Golden Eagle continued to scout from high altitudes, guiding Chen Wen’s direction.

With the Golden Eagle’s guidance and Chen Wen’s quick actions,

the speed of the man and the eagle increased rapidly.

By around nine in the morning, they had reached the vicinity where the Golden Eagle had spotted the River Curve Horse.

”It’s just up ahead, about one or two kilometers away.”

The Golden Eagle flew a bit lower, talking to Chen Wen about the situation ahead.

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen squinted his eyes to look ahead.

There was a small lake ahead, and beside the lake, there were shadows of some animals.

Although the distance was a bit far, Chen Wen could still clearly see the types of animals there.

Among them were the River Curve Horses.

This group of River Curve Horses was just as the Golden Eagle had said, numbering about twenty or so.

Chen Wen squatted at a high point on an eroded mountain, utilizing the High Mountain Watcher to observe the situation over there.

”But... there’s a wild yak there, just one.”

Although the River Curve Horse made Chen Wen very happy, the wild yak made him a bit nervous.

On the Qiangtang Plateau, Chen Wen wasn’t afraid of herds of wild yaks, but facing a solitary wild yak was a bit daunting.

Because herds of wild yaks are female groups.

These herds, while numerous, are generally not dangerous.

As long as you don’t actively provoke them, they won’t bother humans.

But a solitary wild yak is different!

Such a wild yak is a male wild yak!

Female wild yaks can already be considered irritable and easily angered.

Male wild yaks are even more like a ticking time bomb.

They explode at the slightest provocation!

These solitary creatures are eccentric and volatile.

Looking at them a bit too long might trigger their explosive temperament!

They truly explode with just another glance, and come too close, and you might melt away.

This ”melt” is meant in an abstract sense.

A raging male wild yak charges with its horns and can trample with its heavy hooves.

If an unarmed human encounters a male wild yak, they could genuinely be trampled into minced meat by its hooves!

Thus, looking at that solitary wild yak, Chen Wen felt a bit troubled.

He wasn’t too afraid of being injured by the wild yak, but this creature’s bad temper could potentially delay his taming of the River Curve Horse!

If disturbed during the taming process, the efforts could go to waste!

”Forget it, let’s go over and check out the situation first. If necessary, lure the wild yak elsewhere; it can’t be allowed to interfere with the taming!”

Chen Wen scratched his head and jumped down the eroded mountain.

Carrying his long spear, he slowly made his way towards the lake.

...

As Chen Wen approached.

The creatures with keen perception by the lake also noticed Chen Wen.

The first to sense Chen Wen were the Tibetan antelopes.

These spirits living in the Qiangtang have the keenest perception.

Upon seeing Chen Wen’s moving shadow, they began to slowly move in the opposite direction, maintaining a safe distance from him.

This distance was about two hundred and fifty meters.

This was because Chen Wen hadn’t intentionally hidden his presence.

Next, the River Curve Horses noticed Chen Wen.

Though aware of Chen Wen’s presence, the River Curve Horses were relatively large and not too afraid of him.

Also, the part of their genes that had been tamed before reminded them that humans weren’t particularly dangerous and didn’t need to be avoided.

So they only occasionally glanced at Chen Wen and continued drinking and grazing by the lake.

The last to notice Chen Wen were the Tibetan gazelles.

The Tibetan gazelles were somewhat slow and didn’t immediately perceive Chen Wen’s presence.

It was only when Chen Wen was about one hundred and fifty meters away that they abruptly sensed him and maintained their distance.

The wild yak was the last to sense Chen Wen.

But upon sensing Chen Wen, it didn’t flee.

Instead, under Chen Wen’s somewhat perplexed gaze, it quickly charged towards him.

”What the...?”

So aggressive?

Chen Wen frowned, not particularly fond of such aggressive creatures.

”Forget it, I should deal with this guy first, eliminate the potential threat, and then focus on taming the River Curve Horse.”

Having made up his mind, Chen Wen took out his long spear, ready for the charging wild yak.

But something unexpected happened to Chen Wen.

In the midst of its charge, the wild yak suddenly halted about twenty meters from Chen Wen.

It tilted its head, scrutinizing Chen Wen with a wary yet curious look.

Chen Wen was a bit puzzled.

What does this guy intend to do?

He hesitated for a moment and took a step back.

The wild yak immediately matched the step.

Chen Wen frowned and took a step forward.

The wild yak hesitated for a moment but then stepped back.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and sat down where he was, and the wild yak in the distance also sat down.

As soon as he stood up, the wild yak stood up as well.

”Oh my!”

When one is speechless to the extreme, one laughs, and Chen Wen now understood the meaning of this saying.

He genuinely couldn’t help but laugh.

”What does this guy want to do?”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but say, picking up his long spear.

He didn’t make any provocative moves towards the wild yak but slowly walked to the water, acting as if he wanted to drink.

The wild yak followed Chen Wen closely, maintaining a certain distance.

It followed Chen Wen to the water’s edge, watching as Chen Wen squatted down and scooped up water from the lake.

Chen Wen washed his hands with the cold lake water, washed his face, and even rinsed his arms.

After cleaning up, Chen Wen glanced back at the wild yak.

Now it seemed the wild yak realized Chen Wen posed no threat.

It slowly turned around and leisurely walked off into the distance.

”What a peculiar wild yak.”

Chen Wen shook his head, unable to resist a comment.

The wild yak’s behavior was somewhat erratic.

Soon, this oddly-behaved wild yak wandered off into the distance.

Seeing that the wild yak didn’t intend to approach again, Chen Wen took out the feed he had brought.

He grabbed a handful of feed and looked over at the River Curve Horses.

The River Curve Horses numbered over twenty, and as Chen Wen continued to approach, one horse with jet-black fur noticed something amiss.

It made a series of agitated and uneasy sounds, akin to snorts but heavier and more frequent.

This River Curve Horse’s behavior also became distinct.

Its muscles tensed, constantly pawing at the ground with its front hooves, and its ears were noticeably pinned back.

So tense?

Upon seeing this, Chen Wen immediately stopped, retreating a bit to give the River Curve Horse space to calm down.

Honestly, this River Curve Horse was quite magnificent.

Although its coat wasn’t very glossy, it had no stray hairs, and its muscles were symmetrical, making it the horse of Chen Wen’s dreams.

Moreover, based on its earlier reactions, this creature’s vigilance and perception ability were exceptionally strong.

While other River Curve Horses hadn’t noticed his approach, this one sensed Chen Wen’s presence and voiced a warning to the others.

Should he give this one a try?

Chen Wen pondered but soon shook his head.

No, although this River Curve Horse is impressive, it’s a male horse and rather aggressive.

To be safe, it’s better not to try taming it but to choose a more docile female horse.

With this in mind, Chen Wen stopped observing this horse.

Instead, he began selecting a mare.
