Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Qu Yong closed the video, unable to resist looking at Chen Wen.

This kid... you really can’t judge a book by its cover!

Turns out he’s a rich guy too!

Actually, most survival enthusiasts are quite wealthy; it’s quite an expensive hobby.

Even Qu Yong has assets close to ten million at the moment.

After all, he’s a participant in the Eight Extremes Challenge.

Qu Yong flexed his wrist, continuing to handle today’s work.

The Indian contestant who fell into the trap is out of danger and is currently being treated in the hospital for a fracture.

Vikram, that tough guy, continues surviving while tracking the locations of other contestants.

He’s planning to eliminate them to gain food and bonuses.

Meanwhile, Bao Wen, after regrouping with his team, has started a stable survival journey.

Jon and Nuo Bu, along with several contestants from Australia and Nepal, have gradually met.

They formed a temporary alliance and began hunting to survive through the alliance.

Things have stabilized for them now.

It seems the survival period is entering a stable phase next.

This is also the most boring period.

Qu Yong thought while casually watching the contestants’ situations.

...

Over at Chen Wen’s side.

As evening approached, the Golden Eagle hurriedly returned.

Chen Wen brought out the pika meat strips he’d prepared for the Golden Eagle in advance, letting it eat and talk at the same time.

Looking at the pika meat, the Golden Eagle, having flown all afternoon, widened its eyes in excitement.

It ate the meat strips voraciously, replenishing its energy.

After gobbling down seven or eight meat strips, the Golden Eagle finally said: ”The tall horse you mentioned, I found it!”

Chen Wen’s eyes lit up upon hearing this.

After seeing the majestic River Curve Horse, Chen Wen wasn’t very interested in Tibetan horses anymore.

He now plans to get a River Curve Horse with smooth fur; that’s truly stylish!

”About where is it? Don’t choke, eat slowly, no rush.”

Chen Wen said, helping the Golden Eagle swallow the meat strips in its throat.

The Golden Eagle extended its neck, indicating with its head for Chen Wen to look north: ”It’s in the north, but it’s a bit far.”

”Approximately how far?”

Chen Wen asked eagerly.

The Golden Eagle tilted its head, thinking for a moment, and quickly provided Chen Wen with a very distant distance: ”If you walk there, it would take more than a day, almost two days.”

More than a day!

Chen Wen clicked his tongue; that’s indeed a bit far!

”Are there many River Curve Horses over there?”

Chen Wen asked.

The Golden Eagle pondered and reported a number: ”Many, over twenty! It’s considered a medium-large group, right?”

Chen Wen nodded, indeed it is considered a medium-large group.

For River Curve Horses.

He hesitated for a moment, pondering whether a trip of three to four days for the River Curve Horse was worth it.

However, soon Chen Wen made up his mind: to go and see!

At least to tame a gentle female River Curve Horse!

Having decided to go out to tame a River Curve Horse, Chen Wen plans to settle the situation at the shelter.

”Especially the Snow Leopard, need to settle the Snow Leopard properly.”

Chen Wen muttered, looking at the Snow Leopard nursing its cubs.

These days, he’s taken good care of the Snow Leopard, visibly fattening it up, and its three cubs are growing fast under his care.

”It’s alright, I’ve eaten quite a bit of good stuff these days.”

Upon hearing Chen Wen’s words, the Snow Leopard immediately said: ”Leave the pikas at the shelter; it’s enough for me to eat, and I can go out and move around myself.”

Chen Wen slightly nodded.

The Snow Leopard, while watching over its cubs, would also continue hunting.

However, he still plans to arrange something for the Snow Leopard to avoid accidents when it goes out.

He plans to fill the pot with water, leaving enough for the Snow Leopard.

At the same time, food was placed by Chen Wen on one side of the cave for the Snow Leopard to eat.

...

After arranging the Snow Leopard’s matters.

Chen Wen also needs to plan his own affairs.

This time going out, he must prepare for staying outside for five days.

Chen Wen thought, giving himself ample time outside.

He took out the yak leather bag; it’s large enough, completely capable of carrying five days of food supplies.

”For food, just bring yak jerky, tsampa, take a box of canned food, use the can as a bowl after, and roast some pika meat to bring along. The rest is just water and items for overnight outside.”

Chen Wen looked at the tanned yak leather.

”Bringing the whole thing out would be more comfortable for sleeping, but the weight isn’t suitable; forget it, I’ll just split it in half.”

Action has always been Chen Wen’s strength.

After making a decision, he hesitated not even a bit, directly using a dagger to cut the yak leather in half.

He separated the yak leather into two parts.

This time going out, taking half, which can be used to keep warm and to separate from the ground, is a weight he can accept.

Soon, Chen Wen organized all the items he needed to take for going out.

...

The next morning, Chen Wen reminded the Snow Leopard to stay safe.

Then, he left the cave with the Golden Eagle.

As they left, Chen Wen blocked most of the cave, leaving only a small gap for the Snow Leopard to pass through.

In the valley, all the food was gathered by Chen Wen into the cave.

Packing the yak leather bag, taking the weapon, and putting on the new helmet — the wild yak skull helmet.

Fully equipped, Chen Wen left the valley, heading north, embarking on the path to tame River Curve Horses.

The Golden Eagle spread its wings and soared upwards.

Under the blue sky, Chen Wen climbed over the mountain ridge, striding rapidly toward the north.

...

There’s naturally not much to say while on the road.

The open terrain of the plateau allows Chen Wen, with the title of High Mountain Watcher, to sharply perceive all dangers.

Moreover, the Golden Eagle hovering in the sky would also alert Chen Wen if any wild animals approached.

What’s more, most predators on the plateau chose to avoid humans upon sight.

As a result, except for a Tibetan mastiff that approached Chen Wen but was driven away by him with a long spear knocking its head.

Throughout the day, Chen Wen didn’t encounter any animals.

Thus he walked for a day.

By evening, Chen Wen found a wind-sheltered hillside and sat down, treating it as a temporary camp.

The Golden Eagle took advantage of Chen Wen’s rest, landing beside him.

”How’s the progress today? Fast or slow?”

Chen Wen asked.

”It’s fast; you seem to walk faster than before.”

The Golden Eagle curiously looked at Chen Wen: ”Did you gain some new ability? Let me see.”

Chen Wen nodded and activated the Golden Eagle’s reverse selection feature.

The Golden Eagle checked out Chen Wen’s new entries and was quickly drawn to the High Mountain Watcher.

This entry seems to be the key to Chen Wen’s quicker pace.

”Does it work well?”

The Golden Eagle asked.

Chen Wen scratched his head: ”It works alright, but I don’t suggest you pick this one. You’re already quite sharp and adapted to the plateau environment; you can only reverse-select ten items, so I recommend you use them sparingly. Better to reverse-select more suitable entries later.”

Upon hearing this, the Golden Eagle nods.

Chen Wen continued: ”Right now your abilities are a bit off, why don’t you pick Giant Strength to enhance your power, maybe after strengthening you’ll be able to lift and carry me flying!”

Hearing Chen Wen’s description, the Golden Eagle laughed: ”Can really lift you to fly?”

”Just joking, did you really believe it?”

Chen Wen chuckled, causing the Golden Eagle to playfully pat him with its wing.

But finally, the Golden Eagle chose Giant Strength; so far, five of its ten reverse-selected entries were chosen, and Chen Wen advised to save the remaining five.

For dinner, Chen Wen opened a can.

It was a fish can.

The taste was very salty, not very good, and Chen Wen felt like it had a hint of foot odor.

After eating the meat, Chen Wen kept both the can and the lid for future use.
