Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Not a word spoken all night.

The next morning, Chen Wen emerged from the shelter with a full spirit.

He woke up early, as the sky was just beginning to brighten.

The Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard were still resting.

Chen Wen had no intention of calling them, as they couldn’t be of help in hunting wild yaks.

He took the long spear and the tools he had made earlier, removed the sheep hide from the rock, and grabbed a chunk of dried yak dung.

Chen Wen felt the hunting tools were nearly ready.

He took a deep breath, donned the sheep helmet, and with a determined look, left the valley like a warrior of ancient human tribes.

...

Chen Wen’s hunt for yaks was no small feat.

Qu Yong, holding a cup of strong green tea, sat early in front of the computer screen.

Besides, he was also keeping real-time communication with Liu Yu.

Both were watching Chen Wen’s situation.

On one hand, they were concerned about Chen Wen, worried he might encounter trouble.

On the other hand, they were curious about how Chen Wen would accomplish the impressive feat of solo hunting wild yaks!

After all, a team had completed the hunt for such prey in previous challenges.

But there really was no record of solo hunting this guy!

Wild yaks, after all, were not the musk oxen Chen Wen hunted before.

The danger of musk oxen is actually much lower than that of wild yaks. Musk oxen are not very aggressive, although their size is similar; they are more like a friendly version of wild yaks.

The danger to humans is not very high.

Roland was able to bleed the musk ox continuously with his dagger, thereby bringing it down.

But it’s not the same with wild yaks.

The nature of wild yaks doesn’t allow Roland to get close, and once injured, yaks go crazy, fighting desperately.

”Honestly, I feel Chen Wen might barely win this time.”

A third voice sounded, in English.

”Old man can’t do it himself, don’t say it’s others.”

Liu Yu couldn’t help saying, ”You were severely injured by a wild yak in the Mountain Extreme Challenge, but that doesn’t mean others will be severely injured!”

Upon hearing the English voice, Qu Yong’s expression became more serious: ”President Bernard, why are you also here?”

Bernard, the legendary explorer currently alive in the United States.

Completed six of the Eight Extremes Challenge, with the Sea Extreme Challenge and Mountain Extreme Challenge unfinished.

He is one of the few legendary figures who survived the Cold Pole Challenge and lived in Antarctica!

At the same time, Bernard is also the President of the American Survival Association and a former teammate of Liu Yu, with a good relationship between the two.

”Humph, your President Liu deliberately called me yesterday to mock me as the old man injured by yak in the Mountain Extreme Challenge.”

Bernard’s voice carried a teasing tone: ”But I feel fine anyway; I never really had the possibility of completing the Mountain Extreme Challenge due to my severe altitude sickness, which almost can’t be overcome; it’s a matter of physique, and I accepted it long ago.”

”But as for your President Liu, just one step short in Antarctica, yet has no chance to complete the seven challenges, hahaha!”

Upon hearing this, Liu Yu couldn’t help but curse as the words struck his heart.

If only he hadn’t called the old man!

After a few jokes among them, Bernard said, ”Chen Wen is great, much better than Liu Yu, but hunting wild yaks is not that easy.”

Hearing this, Liu Yu said, ”Let’s wait and see; Chen Wen is not as simple as you think!”

Bernard smiled slightly, but didn’t say much more.

He liked to let facts speak.

...

External factors naturally did not affect Chen Wen.

At this moment, he had arrived at the hillside.

He came early, as the wild yak herd hadn’t arrived yet.

Thus, Chen Wen, with his set of tools, quickly came to the vicinity of the trap.

He first inspected the trap to ensure there were no issues.

Then he checked the tools, which were also fine.

Finally, it was time for ambush.

Chen Wen, with his gear, covered in a sheep hide and helmet, silently crouched in an inconspicuous depression.

This position was about twenty meters from the trap, relatively hidden.

Lying on the ground wrapped in sheep hide, he looked just like a sheep resting here, very unobtrusive.

He squatted down with great patience, waiting for the prey to take the bait.

...

An hour passed.

As the sky gradually brightened, the wild yak herd descended from the mountains, walking along the lakeside to this side of the lake.

The vegetation here was more abundant.

After arriving here, the wild yak herd began to drink and graze.

Watching the movements of the wild yak herd, Chen Wen constantly searched for a suitable prey.

Soon, he noticed a wild yak with an exceptionally large size among the herd.

Though it looked robust, this wild yak gave Chen Wen a sickly feeling.

Should he hunt this creature?

Chen Wen thought secretly.

Due to prior reconnaissance, Chen Wen was clear about the approximate location where the wild yak herd was active.

Like Chen Wen anticipated, the wild yak herd was operating about ten to twenty meters from the trap.

After waiting a while longer, the herd finished eating and drinking.

Chen Wen decisively activated the entry ”Gua Fragrance”.

A rich aroma of melon-fruit swelled from Chen Wen’s body, masking his scent while attracting all creatures interested in fruit.

Wild yaks, undeniably, are very fond of such smells.

As the scent floated to the vicinity of the wild yak herd, they sensed the anomaly immediately.

Such a good aroma!

For wild yaks accustomed to grazing all their lives, this scent was akin to ancient commoners who’d never smelled spices suddenly inhaling the scent of instant noodle seasoning.

No matter how it tastes, the smell was enough to make the yak herd drool.

The yak herd rustled a bit, and one of the wild yaks watched in Chen Wen’s direction.

While wild yaks don’t have poor eyesight, they struggle to see close objects clearly.

Moreover, in their view, it’s hard to differentiate the color of sheep wool.

So this wild yak did not see Chen Wen.

On the contrary, it confidently determined the scent should emanate from the plants over there!

Unable to resist the allure of the aroma, the wild yak started moving slowly in this direction.

Other yaks followed suit.

...

At this point, Chen Wen couldn’t afford to focus on his previously locked target.

His eyes continuously scanned the approaching wild yaks, watching their legs pass near the trap.

Regrettably, these creatures’ legs seemed to have eyes, always crossing close to the trap but never stepping directly onto it.

This made Chen Wen a bit anxious.

As the yaks approached, nearing his side.

Chen Wen gritted his teeth and scraped the fire starter with a dagger, igniting sparks to light the dry dung.

He wielded the dung, lightly tossing it toward the wild yak about ten meters away.

An abrupt change occurred!
