Wilderness Survival with Druid System

After exploring for dozens of minutes, Chen Wen roughly determined the animals living by the lake.

Almost all of them are herbivores, with quite a variety of species.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen also decided on two prey to hunt—Tibetan horse and wild yaks.

No matter which one, as long as Chen Wen can successfully hunt one of them, he won’t have to worry about the meat needed for survival this time.

Additionally, the animal leather and some other organs can also provide Chen Wen with some extra items.

Therefore, after thorough consideration, Chen Wen finalized the hunting plan.

Time to fetch water.

Chen Wen started heading back to the camp.

The Snow Leopard and Golden Eagle seemed to have some thoughts about the pika, so they didn’t follow Chen Wen back but remained near the lake.

Crossing the valley, arriving at the valley entrance.

Just as Chen Wen was about to enter the valley.

Suddenly, a sound similar to stone knocking echoed from the cliffs on both sides of the valley.

Chen Wen looked up and quickly stepped back.

He saw a rock, probably larger than Chen Wen’s head, suddenly falling from the high cliff side, possibly due to wind erosion or other reasons.

The rock kept hitting other rocks on the cliff, bringing down some already fragile stones.

Several rocks tumbled and collided, continuously rolling down from the upper part of the cliff wall, finally smashing onto the ground and shattering.

”Damn, if I walked straight in, I’d probably get hit and explode my head!”

Looking at the falling rocks, Chen Wen couldn’t help but say.

But luckily, he had known beforehand that the stones here might fall.

So, Chen Wen was somewhat prepared.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have immediately stepped back just now.

But no matter what, these falling rocks from both sides of the valley were a bit troubling for Chen Wen.

Every time he passed through, he would have to be more cautious.

And it’s best to make some kind of helmet; otherwise, if a small stone suddenly falls and hits when he’s unprepared, it would hurt!

Chen Wen frowned and continued to walk forward.

At the same time, he roughly understood why the Tibetan Race herders abandoned the valley.

This place is so dangerous; if the noise from herding animals is too loud, causing falling rocks, it’s not impossible for high-up stones to fall and injure livestock or even people.

After passing through the valley and returning to the camp.

Chen Wen looked at the supplies in his camp and pondered making a helmet for defense.

Just as Chen Wen was pondering, suddenly he saw something.

”Ram’s skull!”

Chen Wen’s eyes lit up, and he quickly walked to the ram skull, which was piled aside as rubbish.

In order to dig out the ram’s brain marrow before, considering its hard skull top, Chen Wen detached the lower jaw bone from below and then used brute force to smash the lower part of the skull, digging out the brain marrow.

Now, looking at the ram’s skull cap, Chen Wen had a bold idea.

Why not clean up the ram’s skull cap, tie a string on it, and use it as a helmet?

The ram’s skull cap is really hard!

Even if this is a female ram, its skull cap is almost as hard as a male ram’s.

If a stone were to fall down, the skull cap could definitely take the hit.

Moreover, although the skull cap is a bit small compared to Chen Wen’s head top, the difference is not too much; at least it can protect Chen Wen’s most fragile top and back of the head.

In this way, even if stones silently fall, this thing can help Chen Wen defend himself.

The most important thing is, wearing this thing on the head might be quite stylish!

But before starting, Chen Wen still wanted to test this thing’s toughness.

He picked up a stone and fiercely smashed the skull cap.

There were only some white marks on it; overall, no cracks appeared.

Chen Wen squinted his eyes, already having a plan in his mind.

He picked up the ram’s skull cap and started cleaning and refining it with a dagger and stones.

The dagger scraped off the ram skull’s skin and leftover flesh; these skin pieces Chen Wen planned to clean later to use as padding between his head and the ram’s skull cap for buffer.

Upon cleaning almost enough, Chen Wen picked up a stone again and began refining the internal fragments and protrusions of the ram’s skull cap.

After knocking for a while.

Chen Wen felt it was almost done.

He picked up the skull cap and went back to the lake, using the lake water and mud by the lake to wash the skull cap.

Covered the skull cap in mud and continuously scrubbed it with his hands.

After roughly two or three times, most of the remaining flesh had been cleaned off by Chen Wen.

Additionally, since the mud contained some gravel.

The grinding by these gravels made the bone even smoother.

Those originally sharp parts became much smoother, not hurting at all upon touching.

Chen Wen picked up the skull cap, shook off the water, and tried it on his head.

Overall, it seemed good, but some small areas needed tweaking.

For example, the area beside the ears was a bit hard, causing discomfort when worn.

Chen Wen took off the skull cap and continued using stones to hit the protruding bone in that area.

After about tens of seconds, Chen Wen placed the adjusted skull cap on his head.

This time, it felt much better.

After fixing the skull cap, Chen Wen drilled holes for ropes on both sides using a long spear.

”Perfect!”

Looking at his work, Chen Wen grinned with delight.

...

Back at the camp, Chen Wen took out some ropes.

Based on his head size, Chen Wen cut a suitable length and tied the rope on both sides of the skull cap.

After tying the rope, Chen Wen tried it on.

It fit perfectly.

Not only could it protect Chen Wen’s head from falling stones above, but it also had a certain decorative effect.

Chen Wen roughly looked at his current appearance using pot water as a mirror.

Looking somewhat like a tribal person.

If he wraps animal fur around him, it would look even more accurate!

However, the sheepskin needs another day to be processed, so the tribal cosplay idea can only wait until tomorrow or the day after.

Next, Chen Wen continued using the tomato work method, handling the table and chairs, turning them into dried meat racks.

...

Chen Wen was busy on his side.

The Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard were busy too.

But they were busy catching pikas.

The Snow Leopard remembered what pikas were.

Although these creatures act dawn and dusk, according to Chen Wen, that’s in places with more human activities.

In the rarely inhabited Qiangtang Wilderness, pikas are active all day.

These creatures will arrogantly go out to bask on rocks or grass as long as they don’t sense threats.

The Snow Leopard previously caught a pika that was basking in the daytime.

Therefore, it let the Golden Eagle fly up to scout the surroundings and find those sunbathing pikas.

The Golden Eagle soared with its wings, its enhanced perception ability quickly spotting the location of the pikas.

”Over there!”

The Golden Eagle landed and led the Snow Leopard towards the distance.

One is the king of the sky, the other is the ghost of the mountains.

When these two animals came together to hunt, the fate of the pika group was sealed.

Soon, as the Golden Eagle led the Snow Leopard close to the pikas.

The two animals were ready to start hunting.

But just as the Snow Leopard was about to directly hunt, the Golden Eagle stopped it.

The Snow Leopard looked at the Golden Eagle in confusion.

But the Golden Eagle confidently said, ”If we just rush in together, we can catch at most two pikas, I’ve learned a lot in human society, listen to me, we’ll catch more pikas!”

Hearing this, the Snow Leopard’s eyes lit up.
