Wilderness Survival with Druid System

”What did he just do to scare away the herd of wild yaks?”

On the computer screen, Bell had a puzzled, even bewildered expression.

He had no idea how Chen Wen managed it!

”It looked like he yelled?”

Qu Yong rubbed his chin and said, ”I saw Chen Wen lean forward with his mouth wide open. He must have been roaring, right?”

Liu Yu shook his head and said, ”Not just probably, definitely. And he roared quite a few times. Hiss! I’ve never heard of yaks being afraid of human roars. Unless Chen Wen was imitating some other creature’s call?”

Bell nodded, pondering, ”Snow Leopard? Wolf? But seeing how hard Chen Wen was trying, could it have been a bear’s roar? Ugh, why did that guy turn off the recording device? It would be much easier if it were on!”

Thinking of this, Bell felt a bit eager, ”How about we try it out on a herd of yaks? Mr. Qu, would you like to try?”

Qu Yong was speechless.

You want me to impersonate a bear in front of a herd of wild yaks?

President Bernard, if you don’t like me, you can just say so.

Bell also realized that what he said wasn’t very appropriate.

After a few awkward laughs, he changed the subject, ”But I must say, Chen Wen is quite interesting. Very strong overall, and from his current actions, it seems he plans to use animals to guard his prey for him? Quite a creative idea.”

Liu Yu nodded, ”Something like that. Do you think this kid can complete the Eight Extremes Challenge?”

Hearing this, Bell became more serious.

After a moment of contemplation, he said, ”According to Adam’s previous descriptions and Roland’s remarks, I feel this kid should handle the cold pretty well, so the Antarctic side should be fine.”

”But as for the Sea Extreme Challenge, honestly, I don’t think a human can complete it.”

Upon hearing this, Qu Yong agreed wholeheartedly, ”Isn’t it just those old guys who deliberately made this stunt to prevent anyone from completing the eight challenges?”

Everyone chuckled, just as Qu Yong said, the Sea Extreme Challenge was practically impossible for humans.

”But you never know, this guy can tame beasts. If he somehow tames a whale, he might just have a chance.”

Bell joked.

But soon, Bell noticed Qu Yong and Liu Yu were silent.

He froze for a moment, then couldn’t help but ask, ”You guys... really think he can tame a whale?”

”It’s not impossible! If crocodiles can be tamed, whales... it’s really hard to say!”

Liu Yu said excitedly, ”I’ll have him try it at an aquarium or something later, just in case it actually works!”

Qu Yong also nodded, ”Plus, whales are highly intelligent. I feel they should be much easier to tame than crocodiles. Definitely worth a try!”

Now Bell was completely bewildered.

No way, really?

Can someone really tame a whale?

But no matter how they discussed it, it was only their speculation.

As for Chen Wen, he began to process the yak.

...

”Later, you both wait here. Don’t let anyone or any animal get close. If they do, drive them away or even kill them!”

Chen Wen spoke seriously to the two animals.

The Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard looked serious, ready to tear apart anyone who dared to come steal the food.

But Chen Wen added, ”However, if something really formidable comes, and you can’t handle it, then run away without hesitation. Golden Eagle, come and inform me, while Snow Leopard, you stay back and watch. Don’t get hurt!”

Hearing this, the two animals were a bit moved.

Chen Wen’s treatment of animal friends was truly commendable.

After instructing the two animals to guard the wild yak,

Chen Wen started to work on the yak.

The yak’s skin, naturally, needed to be completely removed.

This skin was extremely important strategic material!

Once tanned, it would be Chen Wen’s bed and mattress combo, keeping him off the ground when resting, quite strategically significant!

Chen Wen had honed his skinning skills well.

He wielded the knife expertly, and soon the bright meat separated from the skin, exposed to the air.

The heavy cowhide was lifted and stacked aside by Chen Wen.

One side finished, the other side began immediately.

Chen Wen put away his knife, exerted great effort, and flipped the wild yak over.

At this moment, he couldn’t care about dirtying the meat; speed was of the essence!

After flipping the yak, Chen Wen sped up, continuing the skinning process.

About half an hour later, a relatively complete wild yak hide was removed by Chen Wen.

He stacked up the yak hide and then looked at the massive cow head.

The brain inside the cow head was something Chen Wen had to collect.

Also, the wild yak’s tongue was very useful.

Its tongue was covered with meat teeth, allowing it to lick and consume hardy plants in winter.

Because of this characteristic of the wild yak, some herders cut off its tongue, dry it, and use it as a comb.

It’s called the famous yak tongue comb.

Many herders have a single comb from which they comb their hair from black to white.

Chen Wen was curious about this thing and intended to make one.

And the cow’s skull also had its uses.

With a ram helmet, Chen Wen was naturally eager to try a wild yak helmet.

Plus, the yak helmet was large enough to fit his entire head inside. This thing would definitely be cool!

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

Therefore, Chen Wen picked up the large bone club he had found earlier and began to hammer at the wild yak’s neck bone, until the bone cracked, allowing him to remove the cow head.

Carrying the huge cow head and the yak’s hide on his back, Chen Wen transported these items back to the shelter.

This was also his first trip back to the shelter today.

...

After Chen Wen left, the Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard became alert, vigilantly watching the surroundings.

Within a few minutes,

the Golden Eagle keenly sensed some threat!

It looked up to the sky, where a few black birds appeared!

Seeing these barely related kin, the Golden Eagle’s eyes flashed with a hint of killing intent!

How bold!

Dare to come steal from me... and Chen Wen!

The Golden Eagle flapped its wings forcefully, soaring toward the flock of black birds at high speed.

Almost recklessly, it collided with one of the black birds.

The black bird let out a hoarse cry and frantically dodged.

Seemingly sensing the Golden Eagle’s strength, these black birds dared not approach further but landed on a distant open space, watching the wild yak with reluctance.

For them, it was a rare feast!

...

Chen Wen returned.

Seeing the Golden Eagle’s vigilant posture, he asked what happened.

The Golden Eagle gestured toward the distant open space, and soon Chen Wen spotted the black birds.

”Crows, no, they should be ravens.”

Chen Wen said, squinting his eyes.

Their movements were indeed quick!

Just as he skinned the yak, they came attracted by the smell!

”Ignore them. These guys feed on carrion and aren’t strong fighters. If they dare come close, just deal with them directly!”

Chen Wen said calmly.

The ravens of Qiangtang were somewhat different from those elsewhere.

The ravens here were particularly large, almost like typical birds of prey.

And they were a bit more aggressive.

Before coming, Chen Wen had heard from local staff.

The ravens in pastureland even actively prey on lambs, and there were tales of ravens abducting children.

However, the abduction stories didn’t have concrete details, probably akin to legends.

Nevertheless, ravens were quite problematic creatures.
