Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chen Wen looked at Qin Yi’s face full of expectation and shook his head slightly.

”Dreams are good, but you also have to consider reality. Given your current situation, it’s going to be very difficult to keep going.”

Chen Wen sighed and said, ”And wanting to make it out of Qiangtang is an even bigger fantasy. You must ensure you don’t get injured at all, because your margin for error is ridiculously low now.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Yi’s eyes became dull.

He touched his camera, not knowing what to say.

Seeing this, Chen Wen didn’t persuade much further.

He had done his best and even helped Qin Yi tend to his wounds.

If Qin Yi chose not to heed his advice and continued to press on, there wasn’t much he could do.

After all, they were merely chance acquaintances; he wasn’t Qin Yi’s parent and wouldn’t interfere with his fate.

After lunch, Chen Wen let Qin Yi rest in his tent.

While Chen Wen himself went back into the cave.

By the afternoon, when Chen Wen emerged, he found Qin Yi fiddling with his camera.

”How have you been thinking about it?”

Chen Wen sat down and asked, ”If you need a rescue, I can help you get in touch; it’ll probably cost about tens of thousands. What do you say?”

Qin Yi heard this and chuckled, ”No need to trouble you, I’ve decided to keep going!”

Glancing at Qin Yi, Chen Wen nodded slightly, ”Alright, then stay safe. You can rest here for a while and get your body adjusted.”

Qin Yi expressed gratitude, ”Thank you, I wouldn’t have gotten far without meeting you here.”

Chen Wen shook his head, ”No worries, just lending a hand.”

They fell silent again for a while.

Then Qin Yi curiously asked, ”By the way, you look familiar. Have we met before?”

Chen Wen shook his head, ”No, I just have a common face.”

”Haha, if everyone had a common face like yours, our average looks would be much higher!”

Qin Yi laughed heartily.

Seeing Chen Wen continually glancing at his camera, Qin Yi asked, ”Do you like photography too?”

”Not really, but what’s it like trekking with a camera?”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but ask.

He couldn’t quite grasp trekking with a camera.

In response, Qin Yi explained, ”When you see beautiful landscapes along the way, you pause to take pictures. That’s what we in this field do; those who love trekking generally photograph as well.”

Chen Wen shook his head, still unable to fully understand.

”Alright then, how many photos have you taken in Qiangtang?”

Chen Wen casually asked.

Qin Yi pointed to his camera, ”There are hundreds stored here, all quality shots. When I get back, follow me on social media, and you’ll see them. My social media name is Qin Yi.”

Chen Wen nodded.

He liked landscapes quite a bit too.

At this moment, Chen Wen glanced at Qin Yi’s bicycle, which Qin Yi introduced, ”This is my main mode of transport, modified to carry 150 kilograms!”

”You’re certainly carrying quite a bit of stuff.”

Chen Wen casually remarked.

Qin Yi chuckled.

Seeing Chen Wen’s interest in the bicycle, Qin Yi continued, ”I’ve modified many parts of this bike. The tires, in particular, I personally altered, especially the front one, which is as sturdy as steel!”

Chen Wen smiled without asking further.

He checked Qin Yi’s wound; after cleaning, it hadn’t swollen or worsened.

Chen Wen commented, ”Your luck’s not bad; the wound hasn’t inflamed or deteriorated. After resting for a couple of days, you should be fine to continue, but take care not to overdo it, and you’ll likely be alright.”

Qin Yi nodded and said, ”I’ll stay for two more days then.”

Chen Wen remained silent, quietly bandaging Qin Yi’s wound.

In the evening, they ate together.

This time Qin Yi brought out quite a bit of food, sharing it with Chen Wen.

At night, Chen Wen set up camp in the valley with Qin Yi, while he sealed off the cave.

Late in the night, seeing no activity from Qin Yi, Chen Wen let the Golden Eagle and Snow Leopard out for air.

Truth be told, Chen Wen even considered letting the Snow Leopard and her cubs stay outside for a few days.

But considering the potential dangers outside, Chen Wen didn’t bring this up.

...

Next morning.

The animals returned to Chen Wen’s cave.

About an hour later, Chen Wen heard some stirring from Qin Yi’s tent.

He carried his pot over to Qin Yi’s tent.

Qin Yi emerged from the tent, greeting Chen Wen wearily.

”Not used to sleeping?”

Chen Wen asked, placing the pot on the fire.

He took out a water pouch and began adding water.

However, Chen Wen noticed that the water in his pouch seemed to be running low.

With Qin Yi joining him, the water had been used quickly.

Noticing this, Qin Yi asked, ”Is water hard to get here? Need help with it?”

Chen Wen nodded, ”Let’s go together; it’s not far.”

Qin Yi’s expression stiffened a bit but quickly recovered, ”Alright, hehe, let’s go together.”

They took their pouches, and Chen Wen removed the spearhead, giving the pole to Qin Yi as a walking stick.

By the lake, while fetching water, Qin Yi excitedly photographed the animals in the distance.

”My goodness, Tibetan wild asses! You rarely see them here! It’s my first sighting on this journey!”

Qin Yi exclaimed, ”Strange how they’re not afraid of us at such close range!”

Chen Wen grinned, thinking: I’ve been here over a month, and these wild asses have seen me for just as long. They’ve grown quite accustomed to humans.

But being too familiar can be problematic.

With this thought, Chen Wen scanned around and picked up a stone.

”What are you up to?”

Seeing Chen Wen’s actions, Qin Yi asked curiously.

Chen Wen pointed at the Tibetan wild asses and said, ”I’ve survived here for a while now; these wild asses have had a lot of contact with me, losing their wariness about humans. I just realized I need to restore their caution towards people.”

Once Qin Yi finished capturing the scene, Chen Wen suddenly threw the stone.

The stone traced an arc and landed accurately among the wild asses.

This startled the relaxed wild asses, prompting them to flee.

Watching this, Qin Yi surprisingly looked at Chen Wen, ”You intending to scare them away?”

”Not really, just need them to understand not all humans are friendly. This thought might save them in danger if they instinctively seek human help.”

Chen Wen explained, watching the wild asses leave.

Beside him, Qin Yi listened and slightly changed his impression of Chen Wen.

After hesitating, he said, ”Before coming to Qiangtang, people from home warned me about severe poaching here. You need to be cautious; people like you living long-term in one place are most likely to encounter poachers.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen glanced at Qin Yi and nodded slightly, ”Sure, I’ll be careful, and you take care too.”

”Haha, of course.”
