Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The first step is to lure the target wild yak away from the herd, making it solitary.

The second step is a swift strike, killing the wild yak.

The third step is to flee once successful, retreat safely.

These three steps sound simple but are difficult to execute.

Unless the camera is turned off, decisively transforming into the hunt.

But Chen Wen doesn’t plan to do so.

One reason is it’s too fake and likely to arouse suspicion.

Additionally, Chen Wen wants to try killing this highland giant creature as a human.

After all, deep down he is someone who loves adventure and challenges.

Too much stable survival, Chen Wen doesn’t quite like.

Therefore, after the morning, Chen Wen started getting busy.

He plans to create some props to use when hunting the wild yak.

As for luring it away, Chen Wen has several methods.

The simplest is to use food to attract.

But after looking around his supplies, there’s hardly anything to attract a wild yak, except some military rations.

As for using military rations as bait, Chen Wen is unwilling.

Simply because it’s a huge loss!

Especially when there are other ways to attract the wild yak, using military rations as bait is like an ox chewing on electrical wires – a huge loss!

Therefore, Chen Wen firmly abandons this idea.

The second method is to use mimicry, simulating the mating call of the wild yak to attract them closer.

But this also doesn’t work.

Because Chen Wen doesn’t know how...

Therefore, Chen Wen chooses the third method—if you don’t come to me, then I’ll come to you!

He plans to approach the wild yak, using some means to drive it away.

Meanwhile, come up with some ways to slow down the target wild yak, letting it gradually fall out of line.

This method is much more complex and also more dangerous!

If slowing the wild yak fails, the plan is declared bankrupt.

And once too close or failing to drive the herd away, Chen Wen might even be in mortal danger!

Of course, if a wild yak accidentally steps on the drone Chen Wen dropped in a panic.

Then it would be too unlucky...but a different story!

But this is a method without other options; Chen Wen doesn’t want to use it unless it’s a critical moment.

Therefore, Chen Wen decides to think of a way in terms of props.

Currently, he is selecting the bones of bighorn sheep and Tibetan mastiffs.

The hardness of the bones is quite high.

If he can use the bones to make bone spears or bone knives, Chen Wen will have an additional tool for self-preservation.

If it comes to a critical moment, he can use the bone spear to ward them off.

Additionally, he can try using the bone knife to injure the wild yak, forcing them to escape to a distance.

In short, with such tools, Chen Wen’s plan will be much more flexible.

...

The making of bone spears is fairly simple.

Chen Wen carefully selected the bones of bighorn sheep, picking out the longer ones as the shaft of the bone spear.

Next, he selected some bones that seemed easier to grind and the sharper ones.

After grinding these bones, they can be used as the spearhead of the bone spear.

As for the bone knife.

Similarly, Chen Wen selected some of the harder bones of Tibetan mastiffs and bighorn sheep, as well as those convenient for grinding, to grind.

Once completed, they are tied together with ropes.

This forms a relatively crude bone knife, more precisely a bone dagger.

The selection was quick, but crafting took a considerable amount of Chen Wen’s time.

Until noon, Chen Wen barely managed to finish making the bone knife while assembling the bone spear.

He tested its sturdiness on a rock; it was satisfactory.

At the same time, Chen Wen tested its power on dried bighorn lamb meat.

With force, the bone knife can still penetrate the meat relatively easily, even after being dried.

Switching to yak, Chen Wen feels it should not be difficult to pierce.

Having crafted two self-defense tools, Chen Wen ponders how to slow the wild yak down.

His idea is to injure the yak’s leg, even fracture it.

This should slow it down.

Or directly stab with the long spear, causing injuries and bleeding, thus reducing speed.

But this method isn’t very suitable.

Because the scent of blood might stimulate the wild yak herd.

Once the herd goes berserk.

Chen Wen judges he couldn’t handle it; at that point, avoidance is the only option.

So slowing down the wild yak not only requires injury but also minimal bleeding.

Chen Wen scratched his head mightily, feeling he has created a big trouble for himself.

”It’s hard!”

...

After crafting the bone spear and bone knife, Chen Wen begins to think about a method to slow down the yak.

Although it’s rather difficult, Chen Wen, with his numerous survival experiences as a Survivor.

His wits are quite abundant.

In just about ten minutes, Chen Wen’s eyes lit up: ”Got an idea!”

The inspiration for this idea came from a game Chen Wen played with his companions when he was young.

The game was simple but quite fun.

Back then, to prank a village mate, they would dig a very deep hole on the ground, about ten centimeters deep.

For children, this hole was extremely deep!

At the same time, they would throw some scented items into the hole, light scents like rotten cabbage leaves, and heavy ones, understandably known items.

Then cover it with branches, plastic bags, fallen leaves, and sprinkle with sand to create a trap.

This trap, with a touch of mischief, caught many village children and became popular among them.

But after an incident with the neighboring village, these traps were abolished by parents.

The matter was simple; two children from the neighboring village dug such a trap too deep, causing an elder from that village to fall forward and break his leg bone.

After this incident, with united parental prohibitions, no one dared to dig traps anymore.

Thinking of past events, besides being emotional, Chen Wen also gained some inspiration.

Such shallow hole traps are fine, but once deep, they lead to stepping into thin air.

Humans, off guard, could break leg bones due to body weight.

Switching to yaks, it might not break their leg bones, but at least cause sufficient leg damage to slow them down.

However, just traps aren’t enough.

Chen Wen needs to devise some trap or weapon-like items to injure without bleeding while slowing it down.

Nonetheless, since he’s planning to trap the yak, Chen Wen starts masterfully, retrieving those plate-shaped bones from the bighorn sheep.

He intends to modify these bones for digging.

While modifying the bones, Chen Wen continues to ponder other weapons.

Surprisingly, after some thought, he really came up with something.

...

Transforming plate-shaped bones into shovels, Chen Wen heads outside to select stones.

In this abandoned nomadic settlement, everything is lacking except stones.

Chen Wen picks and chooses among the stone heap, quickly finding two stones together, each about the size of his head.

The stones have a rather odd shape, resembling long strips.

Long and heavy.

Chen Wen retrieve ropes, tying the ends around the stones’ center, creating an oddly shaped item.

The Golden Eagle, seeing this thing, curiously came over: ”Hmm? What’s your intention? Making a barbell? Fitness? But aren’t you humans making barbells with hard sticks? Why are you tying stones with ropes?”
