Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Gah oh—Gah oh!

Accompanied by hoarse cries, the ravens swooped down near the fascia and scraps of fat.

They did not approach recklessly, but instead squawked noisily from a distance.

Chen Wen lay hidden without moving a muscle.

He was already familiar with the routines of these creatures.

If it were a fresh animal carcass, even with predators around, ravens would approach without hesitation, opening up the carcass and snatching food right in front of predators, exceedingly fierce!

But if it were scraps of meat or a broken animal carcass, the ravens would observe cautiously for a while.

Only after ensuring there was no danger would they swarm in.

As Chen Wen had previously been in the sight of the ravens, they were sufficiently wary of the food he discarded.

But no matter the level of vigilance, it couldn’t withstand the temptation of food.

Fat represents grease and calories to humans.

But to wild animals, it represents energy and hope for survival!

Many animals have the habit of prioritizing fat consumption, and ravens are no exception.

Thus, under the allure of fat, the ravens persisted only momentarily before diving in, starting to peck at the fat with their beaks.

Due to Chen Wen discarding this particular type of fat, it was quite fragmented.

The ravens found eating the fat somewhat difficult, having to peck at it bit by bit, expending effort to find larger chunks of fat.

This presented Chen Wen with an opportunity to hunt!

He picked up the long spear, aiming at the raven that was pecking most aggressively.

Though he wasn’t sure if this was the one that had stolen his yak jerky, observing its fierce pecking movements, Chen Wen took a deep breath: It’s you!

The [Giant Strength] activated, and the long spear whooshed out.

The raven had no chance to react, as the whooshing spear precisely struck down, deeply embedding into the raven’s body.

Nearby ravens noticed something had happened to their comrade.

They spread their wings in panic, emitting hoarse cries as they were about to flap their wings to leave.

But at that moment, Chen Wen hurled the bone spear.

This time, he aimed at another raven, and the bone spear grazed the raven’s head, causing it to stumble and fail to take flight.

Upon seeing this, Chen Wen was overjoyed.

You’re the one to die!

He stepped quickly out from his hidden spot, striding over to the raven, and snatched it with a swift grab, pressing it firmly against the ground.

At the same time, to prevent being injured by the raven’s sharp beak.

Chen Wen twisted its head with force, rotating it three hundred sixty degrees.

It was thoroughly killed.

Simultaneously, Chen Wen glanced at the raven struck by the spear, which had died rather tragically.

The immense power carrying the spear was like a missile, directly shattering the raven’s body.

It was completely overpowered!

Somewhat unfortunate.

Chen Wen sighed regretfully as he glanced at it.

He recalled Mr. Lu Xun’s depiction of Hou Yi shooting down the sparrow in ’Flying to the Moon.’

The power with which the spear struck was akin to Hou Yi’s shot that killed the sparrow!

Chen Wen mused idly, while glancing up at the golden eagle in the sky.

At this point, the golden eagle had also succeeded.

Having secured the high ground, it plunged down, directly clutching a raven that was fleeing in panic.

This raven was preoccupied with guarding against Chen Wen on the ground, with no attention for threats from the sky.

Thus, until the golden eagle’s claws tore into its body, did this raven realize there was an enemy in the high skies!

The golden eagle descended with the captured raven.

Upon noticing the shattered raven hit by Chen Wen, it couldn’t help but shudder.

Goodness!

Chen Wen’s strength seemed more terrifying again!

”How’s the harvest?”

The golden eagle asked.

”Had I not been too forceful and shattered this raven, we could have had three. It’s such a pity...”

Chen Wen shook his head, regretfully tossing the shattered raven onto the ground.

The golden eagle didn’t pay it much attention.

Its current favorites were pikas and yak meat.

These raven-like black creatures weren’t to its taste.

Chen Wen brought the two dead ravens back to the lakeside, using a knife to strip them of their skin and feathers.

The food was plentiful, and there was ample fat.

Chen Wen disregarded the layer of fat on the ravens’ skin.

After cleaning their innards, he carried the two ravens back to camp.

Lunch was raven.

But whether thinking of Mr. Lu Xun’s ’Flying to the Moon’, or craving carbs.

Images of raven noodle sauce kept flashing through Chen Wen’s mind.

What would that taste like?

Chen Wen pondered.

...

While Chen Wen craved carbs.

A bit distant from the valley, a nomadic Tibetan family was herding their horses and yak into the pen.

”Dad, are we heading to the mountain where we once found the snow leopard?”

A little girl on horseback looked excitedly at the snow-capped mountains ahead.

Upon hearing her, a middle-aged man in traditional Tibetan attire, known as Legui, glanced worriedly at the distant snow mountains: ”Yes, but we’re not going that way anymore.”

Sensing the dejection in her father’s words, the young girl replied, ”Dad, don’t worry, the one who stole our horses will definitely be caught by Mr. Zhao!”

The man smiled weakly at her words: ”I hope so.”

Yet as he spoke, his eyes carried a trace of worry.

According to the patrol captain named Zhao from the reserve, there were signs that poaching in Qiangtang was resurging; patrol teams and field cameras had encountered dead animals repeatedly in recent times.

There were yaks, horses, wild mastiffs, and even Tibetan antelope!

According to Mr. Zhao, the central area of Qiangtang was the most severely affected by poaching.

The nomadic route of the family was coincidentally passing by the southern region of the central area, making it difficult for the man to sleep well for days.

Moreover, they had recently lost another horse, worsening the man’s worries.

Perhaps a different route?

Returning to the previous path?

The man hesitated, looking towards the snow-capped mountains.

...

Back with Chen Wen.

The ravens were soon cooked.

Paired with a nut chocolate bar, Chen Wen devoured the ravens.

These creatures didn’t look appealing, and indeed tasted average.

Flavor and texture paled in comparison to yak!

Chen Wen couldn’t help but sigh.

Craving carbohydrates!

Rice, noodles, any form of carbs would do!

But this desire couldn’t be fulfilled anytime soon.

Unless nomads passed by, allowing an exchange for some carbs.

But what were the chances?

Chen Wen shook his head and examined the raven’s attributes.

The raven’s attributes were rather good, pleasantly surprising Chen Wen.
