Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The time came to the second day.

When Chen Wen opened his eyes, the first thing he did was check the situation with the Snow Leopards.

The family of Snow Leopards was resting.

He didn’t disturb the Snow Leopards but instead picked up the hunting tools he had prepared yesterday and quietly left the cave.

The Golden Eagle nearby was startled by Chen Wen’s movement. It too quietly stepped along and left the cave with Chen Wen, arriving in the valley outside.

”What’s the plan today?”

Upon arriving in the valley, the Golden Eagle flapped its wings and asked.

Chen Wen told the Golden Eagle about the Tibetan snowcocks he saw yesterday: ”Today, we’ll act separately. You go find the Tibetan snowcocks; their location is roughly southwest of the lake. You can hunt directly and catch one or two, just give me one. As for me, I’ll head to the other side of the lake and see if I can catch a Tibetan gazelle.”

Upon hearing this, the Golden Eagle nodded excitedly.

Tibetan snowcocks, they sounded like the weak kind of animals, although they must be faster than pikas. Such animals are the easiest to catch!

The Golden Eagle moved its body and soared into the sky.

It wanted to see what the Tibetan snowcocks were all about.

Meanwhile, Chen Wen took his equipment and started approaching the lake, intending to see what the Tibetan gazelles were all about.

The person and the Golden Eagle acted separately and soon left the valley.

...

At the edge of the lake, the Tibetan gazelles arrived on schedule.

They were searching for new grasslands and began grazing on the pasture.

The fresh and juicy pasture attracted the attention of all the Tibetan gazelles.

They opened their mouths and lowered their heads to munch on the grass on the ground, almost unguarded by their surroundings.

Of course, it wasn’t because the Tibetan gazelles had no sense of precaution.

But because their behavior was very similar to that of sheep.

During group feeding, young Tibetan gazelles would be responsible for vigilance, acting as sentinels.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelles would alert to the surrounding situation. If danger approached, they would warn the herd immediately, prompting the whole group to react.

Sitting on the hillside, Chen Wen quickly identified the positions of the sentinel Tibetan gazelles.

”Two sentinel Tibetan gazelles, however, their position is more towards the west of the lake. I can try to approach from the other side!”

Chen Wen squinted his eyes, planning his next course of action.

He draped the yak hide over himself, and capped it with the yak skull helmet, cautiously circumventing the lake to start approaching the Tibetan gazelle herd.

...

Today, the wind was particularly noisy.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle both alert to the surroundings and thought to itself.

It was a very mature sentinel, having helped the herd avoid numerous dangers in the past.

Unless something unexpected happened, it would forever serve as a sentinel, helping the herd avoid danger.

But just as the sentinel Tibetan gazelle was thinking so.

It suddenly noticed a very strange object appearing in its line of sight, resembling a huge creature it had seen before, wholly black, not allowing other animals to approach.

That is, wild yaks.

But this strange object was much smaller than a wild yak and looked somewhat awkward.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle stood up, carefully observing this strange object.

That object seemed to notice it standing up and quickly halted in movement.

Now the distance between that object and itself was about seventy meters.

The gazelle observed for a while and didn’t detect any peculiar smells.

On the contrary, there was a faint fragrance; although it hadn’t smelled it before, it could sense that the scent was very pleasant and seemed delicious.

The other members of the herd seemed to notice the scent too.

They were eager, continually eyeing the distant strange object, as if the fragrance came from over there.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle gently stepped forward; although that strange object didn’t move, it keenly sensed that it seemed to be quite dangerous.

It planned to go over and check things out.

And at that moment, the eldest male Tibetan gazelle in the herd seemed unable to resist the temptation of the scent.

It slowly stood up, approaching the strange object.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle saw this and emitted a series of warning cries.

Upon hearing the cries, the Tibetan gazelle herd instantly became alert.

They halted their approach.

The elderly male Tibetan gazelle also stopped. However, now it was closer to that strange object, about sixty meters away.

And at this moment, that strange object moved a bit.

From its rear end, something long and black, glimmering with metallic luster seemed to emerge.

What was that?

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle instinctively sensed a threat.

Instinctively, it wanted to cry out to alert the other members of the herd to flee.

But before it could make a sound, the strange object suddenly uttered a howl: ”Woo-ah!”

As the object vocalized, the sentinel Tibetan gazelle felt a chill rise from the tailbone, swirling along its spine, eventually reaching deep into its brain.

How terrifying!

After being frightened into a shiver, the sentinel Tibetan gazelle suddenly leapt into the air, fled in Rage Run.

But just as it turned, the Tibetan gazelle seemed to notice something.

It saw something emerge from beneath the strange object, a two-legged creature.

The two-legged creature swiftly jumped up, swung the long, black thing, and hurled it.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle felt its heart about to burst.

It realized just how dangerous that long, black thing with metallic luster was!

It tried to dodge and avoid that long, black thing.

But that long, black thing seems to have eyes of its own, locked onto it, and continually approaching.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle felt like it was doomed.

It turned to look at its companion, the elderly male Tibetan gazelle.

It seemed haven’t reacted yet, stupidly staring in the direction of the sound.

And as the sentinel Tibetan gazelle panicked, that long, black thing brushed by its body, swiftly passing on its side.

Under the sentinel Tibetan gazelle’s gaze, the long, black thing pierced through its companion, the elderly male Tibetan gazelle.

Yes, pierced!

It felt its companion opened its mouth, trying to cry for help, also trying to breathe.

But quickly, its companion’s mouth tightly shut.

It lay lifelessly on the ground, except for the occasional twitching of its body, there was no other movement.

The sentinel Tibetan gazelle couldn’t bother with its companion and desperately fled in Rage Run to the distance.

Nearby, members of the herd surged forward, terrified of running slower and being killed by that terrifying, strange thing behind.

Yet it didn’t seem to pursue.

As it ran, the sentinel Tibetan gazelle glanced back.

It saw the figure that transformed from yak to biped standing over there, watching them from afar but not moving.

Running, running, the sentinel Tibetan gazelle slowed down.

The herd reformed, but with one less member.

Moreover, that member could never catch up again.

With fear, this group of Tibetan gazelles left this land where they had lived for quite some time, migrating to the surrounding lake.

...

The one who killed the Tibetan gazelle was, of course, Chen Wen.

Using entries like {Gua Fragrance}, {Highland Ghost}, and the yak hide for concealment, he successfully ambushed from more than seventy meters away from the Tibetan gazelle.

Upon being discovered, Chen Wen used {Howl Intimidation} to frighten the Tibetan gazelles while taking advantage of their characteristics to throw the spear and complete the hunt.

Chen Wen approached the deceased Tibetan gazelle and felt relaxed.

Hunting Tibetan gazelles felt a bit too easy.
