Wilderness Survival with Druid System

The familiar mountain slope, the familiar animals.

Chen Wen held the long spear, motionless, imagining himself as a stalk of swaying pasture grass and staring at the animals beside the lake.

The Tibetan horses were not affected by the hunting of yaks.

They still went about their grazing, drinking, and resting as usual.

After watching for a while, Chen Wen determined the activity patterns of the Tibetan horse herd.

He planned to come here tomorrow to dig up some fresh pasture grass and attempt to tame the Tibetan horses.

Chen Wen had no intention of hiding, he took the long spear, walked to the lake to get water, and the Tibetan horses in the distance had gotten somewhat used to this creature that had been by the lake for a while.

Now at two hundred meters away, the Tibetan horses were not paying much attention to Chen Wen.

Seeing this, Chen Wen planned to try approaching the Tibetan horse herd to see how close he could get.

He did not make any threatening movements, simply walking slowly forward, around a hundred and fifty meters or so, when a horse that seemed to be the scout in the herd glanced up at Chen Wen.

It made a sound similar to a snort, very muffled.

Chen Wen stood still, not continuing to approach.

The creature was warning him to keep his distance.

Any closer and the Tibetan horses would probably show hostility.

A hundred and fifty meters, whether for hunting or taming, is far from enough!

Chen Wen shook his head, giving up on getting closer.

...

After returning to camp, Chen Wen maintained the camp as he usually did.

After finishing his work, he lazily lay down on his stone bed and started dozing.

The day passed by with Chen Wen whittling away at time.

It was only until the next morning that Chen Wen ended his lazy state.

He refreshed himself, not disturbing the two animals, and came to the valley outside.

Today he’s going to attempt to tame the Tibetan horses!

Chen Wen repeated his task goal in his mind and brought out his ultimate weapon - the bighorn sheep helmet and bighorn sheep fur.

After failing to approach the horse herd yesterday, Chen Wen came up with this idea.

He disguised himself as a bighorn sheep to approach the horse herd.

And used the entry [Gua Fragrance] to attract the herd.

Once the horse herd approaches, choose a seemingly docile young mare, feed tender grass roots, and attempt taming.

The plan had no flaws.

Chen Wen thought, quickly heading towards the lakeside.

Before the horse herd arrives, he planned to dig some fresh pasture grass to prepare.

...

Chen Wen took the bone shovel and dug pasture grass by the lake for half an hour.

When his back started to ache a little, the Tibetan horse herd arrived on time.

Chen Wen saw the horse herd slowly approaching, quickly covered himself with bighorn sheep fur, put on the helmet, and lay within the wild horse herd’s activity area.

Soon, a few Tibetan horses at the front saw the disguised Chen Wen.

The eyesight of the Tibetan horses could be said to be top-notch.

They have the common sight advantages of equine animals, such as a wide field of view, strong night vision ability, etc.

But at the same time, they share common weaknesses, such as weaker depth perception and three-dimensional vision.

And they are not adept at distinguishing colors.

Of course, they can still easily differentiate food.

Therefore, although the Tibetan horses saw Chen Wen, they did not see through his disguise.

The leading Tibetan horse ignored Chen Wen and walked forward.

Although Chen Wen hadn’t activated the entry [Gua Fragrance], his body long contained the scent of the wilderness after surviving for so many days.

Even more so, indeed.

The Tibetan horses naturally regarded Chen Wen as a strange bighorn sheep.

Soon, the Tibetan horses approached near Chen Wen.

Some Tibetan horses were grazing on the grass on the ground indifferently, while others slowly meandered to the lakeside and drank water in large gulps.

Chen Wen gently lifted his head, quickly scanning over the bodies of the Tibetan horses, picking his target.

But soon, just as Chen Wen was about to pick a target.

From the west of the lake, accompanied by the low whinny of horses, another group of Tibetan horses arrived!

Their footsteps were heavy.

Chen Wen didn’t see them, but he heard the heavy footsteps.

The entry [Listen for Footsteps] was triggered.

Chen Wen furrowed his brows, he could sense that the new group’s footsteps were heavier than the Tibetan horses.

That meant they weighed more than the Tibetan horses!

Could it be they aren’t Tibetan horses?

While Chen Wen was wondering, the Tibetan horse herd leisurely eating and drinking seemed to be startled by the aura of the newcomers.

They backed off cautiously.

Chen Wen also seized the opportunity to look at the new horse group.

At a glance, Chen Wen’s eyes instantly lit up!

This group of horses were not Tibetan horses!

They were bigger in size and heavier!

The most striking aspect was that they appeared more elegant than the Tibetan horses!

The feeling was hard to describe, but in Chen Wen’s eyes, this new group of horses seemed like they had sprinted out of a painting by Xu Beihong!

By contrast, the Tibetan horses seemed to be from just any painter’s work.

The difference was very apparent!

Chen Wen instantly changed targets; he wanted to tame these new horses!

They should be the River Curve Horses.

Chen Wen thought excitedly, and then he slowly approached the River Curve Horse herd.

The River Curve Horses hadn’t noticed Chen Wen approaching.

These heftier creatures were gorging on grass like they hadn’t eaten for a long time.

Watching the reincarnated starving horses, Chen Wen’s eyes shone even brighter.

How hungry can they be?

The chances of taming them were very high!

Chen Wen picked up the pasture grass and proactively activated [Gua Fragrance], releasing enticing aromas.

The River Curve Horses munching on grass twitched their noses, bewildered, lifting their heads and looking around.

Such a tantalizing aroma!

Attracted by the scent, the River Curve Horses glanced around, searching for the aroma’s source.

Before long, a River Curve Horse seemed to have discovered something.

It took small steps, coming toward Chen Wen.

Seeing this, Chen Wen’s eyes flashed with delight.

The approaching River Curve Horse was a mare, very sturdy.

It belonged to the type Chen Wen dreamed of encountering.

Chen Wen decisively extended the pasture grass from beneath the bighorn sheep leather and lightly shook it to catch the mare’s attention.

The mare stared at the arm and pasture stretching out from beneath the leather, showing a very obvious expression of bewilderment.

It seemed to be startled, instinctively backing up a few steps.

Seeing this, Chen Wen did not press forward but allowed the mare time and space to react.

The mare waited a while, determined that there was no significant danger, and then tentatively walked forward again.

Facing the mare, Chen Wen displayed considerable patience.

He waited slowly for the mare to approach, watching it tentatively stretch its head, close to the pasture.

With previous wild horse taming experience.

Chen Wen also had some insight on interacting with horses, even judging their emotions through body language.

At the moment, this River Curve Horse was in a state of tension.

Its neck was stiff, and throat muscles were closely taut.

Moreover, its ears exhibited apparent ”airplane ears,” meaning they were tense while pasted backward.

Chen Wen didn’t make any excessive movements, simply extending the pasture grass forward slightly.

Looking at the pasture grass nearby and sniffing the tempting aroma.

The River Curve Horse couldn’t hold back.

It leaned near the pasture grass, lips curling, ingesting the grass into its mouth.

As the pasture grass entered its mouth, the River Curve Horse’s tense emotions eased somewhat.

Its neck muscles relaxed a bit, but the airplane ears remained.

Chen Wen did not lower his guard, slowly withdrew his arm, and again brought out some dug pasture grass, raising them in front of the River Curve Horse.

The River Curve Horse hesitated for a moment, then took another bite.
