Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Waited for about ten minutes.

Just as Chen Wen was yawning, hoofbeats gradually came from a distance.

Following the sound, Chen Wen saw a very strong man.

He had a watchful gaze, riding a horse, with two very robust Tibetan mastiffs following behind him.

”Is this the adult from that little girl’s family?”

Chen Wen muttered, slowly stood up.

He planted the long spear into the ground beside him, spreading his hands to indicate he had no hostile intent.

Seeing Chen Wen’s actions, Zhaxi Duntu furrowed his brows slightly.

The other party... didn’t seem like a poacher.

After all, no poacher would boldly process a bighorn sheep’s skull into a helmet and wear it on his head.

This person seemed more like...

Zhaxi Duntu’s eyes flickered, as if recalling something.

Soon, he remembered the group he had an agreement with, judging by the time, it was about time for their survival challenge again.

But Zhaxi Duntu didn’t rashly approach Chen Wen.

He gently waved his hand, signaling Chen Wen to step away from the long spear.

Seeing that Zhaxi Duntu was not carrying weapons, Chen Wen also didn’t say much, retreated a few steps backward, arriving five steps away from the long spear.

For an ordinary person, it’s nearly impossible to quickly pick up the long spear from this distance.

But for Chen Wen, he could pick up the long spear for self-defense at any time from this distance.

However, this action scored points in Zhaxi Duntu’s eyes, as the man’s frankness was far removed from poachers.

At this point, Zhaxi Duntu was already eighty percent certain of Chen Wen’s identity.

He dismounted, took off a thirty-centimeter machete from his waist, and hung it on the horse.

This tall Tibetan man approached Chen Wen from about ten meters away, asking amiably: ”Are you from the Survival Association? I calculated the time, seems like your event is starting?”

Chen Wen surveyed Zhaxi Duntu’s traditional attire, thinking: Could this be the Tibetan compatriot Liu Yu mentioned they had a cooperative relationship with?

He nodded slightly, explaining: ”It’s not an event, it’s a challenge, the Mountain Challenge, and I’m the contestant representing Hua Country in this Mountain Challenge.”

Hearing this, Zhaxi Duntu felt more at ease.

If Chen Wen couldn’t name the Mountain Challenge, he would certainly have to remain vigilant.

Zhaxi Duntu looked around, asking: ”Where are your teammates? I remember the Mountain Challenge usually has many participants.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen laughed and explained: ”There used to be many participants each time, but this time is special, I’m the only one.”

Zhaxi Duntu hissed, sizing up Chen Wen, feeling that this man didn’t look formidable.

Moreover, his gaze wasn’t fierce, completely different from those survivors encountered before.

”Alright, since you’re from the Survival Association, there’s no problem.”

Zhaxi Duntu chuckled heartily: ”I’m a local nomad, previously reached an agreement with your Survival Association, I’ll be herding by the lake these days, if you need help or want to exchange some supplies, feel free to come to me.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen’s eyes lit up.

Goodness, whatever he thought came true.

Just thinking about consuming carbohydrates, here he encountered a nomad, his luck was unmatched!

Chen Wen smiled and shook hands with Zhaxi Duntu, reaching a preliminary consensus.

Picking up the long spear, Chen Wen followed Zhaxi Duntu, intending to see their future camp spot together.

Zhaxi Duntu said: ”This route was actually abandoned by us before, the main reason being that this route requires going deep into Qiangtang, not safe and also affecting wildlife.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen asked: ”So why choose this side again this time?”

Zhaxi Duntu glanced at Chen Wen, not directly stating the reason, but rather explaining from another perspective: ”Oh, that’s because another route has problems, we have no choice but to take this one.”

As he spoke, Zhaxi Duntu led Chen Wen to the southwest of the lake, the first time Chen Wen was here.

Zhaxi Duntu was very familiar with this area, easily guiding Chen Wen to the bottom of a slope and finding a very spacious valley here.

”This will be our camp, if needed, you can come anytime, I’ll bring my family here later.”

Zhaxi Duntu said.

Chen Wen glanced at the interior of this valley, very clean inside, no pebbles.

In terms of safety, it’s much safer than his own valley.

Considering his own safety, Chen Wen didn’t rashly inquire about his valley’s situation.

After all, a snow leopard was still preparing to give birth there.

Therefore, Chen Wen let Zhaxi Duntu leave, while he stayed around the valley, waiting for Zhaxi Duntu’s return.

...

After waiting for more than half an hour.

Standing on the slope, Chen Wen saw Zhaxi Duntu’s herd.

He squinted, roughly counting the herd’s numbers.

Soon, Chen Wen couldn’t help but click his tongue: ”More than fifty yaks, sixty or seventy horses, wow, this Tibetan brother may look robust, but he’s actually quite wealthy!”

Just this herd alone exceeded the money Chen Wen typically earned from a single survival challenge.

Simultaneously, Chen Wen keenly spotted Zhaxi Duntu’s family.

An elderly woman, likely his mother, a middle-aged woman, probably his wife, and a daughter, the one Chen Wen exchanged glances with earlier.

At this moment, Zhaxi Duntu’s daughter was looking up towards Chen Wen, her eyes somewhat suspicious.

Clearly, she didn’t trust Chen Wen.

Soon, Chen Wen formally met Zhaxi Duntu’s family.

He also learned Zhaxi Duntu’s family members’ names, all quite common yet beautifully meaningful names.

Commonly found in the Tibetan area.

After a simple introduction, Chen Wen initially planned to leave, avoiding too much interaction with the nomads.

However, seeing Zhaxi Duntu setting up tents and penning the livestock.

Chen Wen thought for a moment, stayed behind, intending to help Zhaxi Duntu’s family settle in the valley.

Zhaxi Duntu was extremely grateful for Chen Wen’s assistance.

Originally, the family would have been busy till afternoon, maybe evening.

But with Chen Wen’s help, before noon, the tent was set, and the livestock pen about half fenced.

To show his gratitude, Zhaxi Duntu insisted that Chen Wen stay, additionally having his wife start a fire to cook.

Sitting in the tent, Chen Wen was somewhat uneasy.

In front of him, Zhaxi Duntu was preparing butter tea.

This traditional atmosphere was quite novel to Chen Wen.

But soon this traditional atmosphere was broken, under Chen Wen’s watchful eyes, the young girl took out a bottle of a currently popular drink from a box that was just unloaded.

She held the drink, hesitating, then reached out and took another bottle, walked to Chen Wen and placed it by his side, signaling with her eyes for him to drink it.

Chen Wen tugged at the corners of his mouth, considering how ever since the rapid development of delivery and e-commerce, even on the plateau, free shipping shops have increased.

The nomads could enjoy the convenience of delivery too.

Chen Wen took the drink, thanked her.

Now the girl was somewhat embarrassed, holding her phone to browse videos elsewhere.

Goodness, this place has internet!

This scene was quite far removed from the novels and films he had previously seen.
